MV and Polkadot; good to hear from you both and pleased to hear that everything is still going ok.

Twinklie; I can only reiterate what other's have said! You'll manage because you will have too and it's amazing how things somehow work out. Am also secretly (or not so secretly) getting excited for you!

    Where is becs???

brass monkey's weather here. OH is off to the lakes tomorrow for a bit of ice climbing! I might pop along too but it's an early start (6am) and I don't do mornings! The bedroom needs the wallpapering finishing too so may stay here with the heating on...decisions, decisions!

Thanks MV, I'm completely expecting a BFN as AF is only due tomo, but testing quite early as I want to test at the weekend.

Would be fantastic to get a BFP before the new year of work though.

    Good luck!:D

Dont worry Laura, think ups and downs are par for the course.

I dont envy you all going back to work, I work from home (often in my jim jams! if I cant be bothered getting dressed) so its great...
  • Laura, I know how you feel, nothing (other than my DS) seems important to me at the moment other than this bean being sticky! I don't want to go to work Monday either, my boss is very stressed at the moment and as I'm her deputy I get the sharp end of her tongue most days :o Her job is her life, whereas I'm only there to earn money - I'm not career driven at all! I think she knows that, and I think it p!sses her off that I'm not as dedicated as she is..

Twinkle, when I got got pregnant with my DS, I'd been with my OH for a matter of weeks (naughty girl!!) we weren't even sure that we wanted a relationship, let alone a baby, and we certainly weren't living together. My marriage had recently broken up, in fact I was still sharing a house with my ex as neither of us could afford to move out. The first time my parents met, or even knew about, my OH was the day I told them I was pregnant :rotfl:Anyway, the circumstances were far from ideal, I'm sure most people thought we were mad, and that it would all end in tears, yet here we are almost 9 years later, very happy despite many ups & downs, and desperately hoping for baby no. 2! So, whatever happens you'll get through it xxxxx

I am completely set up to work from home too..have a work laptop, blackberry and can log in from home, but my work are funny about it unless its an emergancy. I live a long way from my work too so 3 hrs of my day is spent commuting :(

I'm thinking that if all goes well I wont go back after mat leave. I earn good money but the stress of it all just doesnt seem worth it thesedays.

Thats not fair of them, that a big commute.

To be honest if I did not work from home after having baby I would not return to work. I am lucky financially I dont need to work due to DH job and the advantage of us being older parents to be me 36 DH 43 !!

But as I work from home I will carry on.
  • I'm the same age as you Penny, OH is 37 and does work full time and earn a decent wage, but living in London costs us a lot and unfortunately he has a lot of debt from his first marriage.

I also have to do a lot of foreign travel for my job - last year alone I went to South AFrica, Greece, Prague and the Middle East...crazy..I dont enjoy it that much anymore either, and I certainly wont be able to do it with my pregnancy!

I think it's probably a good thing that something has come along to make me have to make changes!
