Lauralou; how lucky are you living in Dorset!? Its lovely around there, me and the other half normally come down there once or twice a year, normally stay in Weymouth tho so we can hop on the ferry to Jersey/ Geurnsey.
I live in boring, rainy Waleswud love to move to the South Coast

Thank kitkat, yeah i love it here and feel really lucky!like i said before just the house prices are annoying! I love weymouth, sometimes go down there for the day in the summer. When you next down have to pop over for a coffee:p! a friend off mind lives in wales, never been tho! oh we went once to cardiff for OH passport interview thing, he failed his first interview! so we had to go to cardiff!0

I've never been particularly career driven. To be honest I only went to Uni as I though I should do!
Wish I could work from home but am civil servant so it's a big no no data security wise!
I'm middle management now and have no desire to go any further; quite happy to plod along nicely until I retire or win the lottery!
Lauarlou; I forgot that you lived in Dorset; you're quite near where I used to live. Bovington and Hamworthy. It's gorgeous down there but you're right so so expensive; there's no way we could afford to buy somewhere half decent and still have a life if I was to move back. I'm a country girl at heart too and love my big wide open spaces and having the sea on your doorstep.
My all time favourite lottery winning fantasy is to get a place on the Isles of Scilly; absolutely beautiful there and prefect to bring up kids.0 -
oh yeah ellie i remember you saying you used to live here, shame you still dont! nobody is from around my way
! Yep i think me and OH will be saving for many years to come! but when we win the lottery (which wasnt tonight!) im going to buy a nice cottage in the countryside
Oh did anybody make any New Years resolutions? I dont really do them!0 -
He he, you lot are chatty tonight.
I live in Sheffield but my office is in Leeds but I'm usually based at clients sites all over the north - so loads and loads of commuting. Depending on what I'm doing I sometimes work from home, I'm rubbish at it though and find myself getting easily distracted and having to work late to make up for lost time.
I'm not career driven at all and have up and down emotions about my job but overall I guess I'm very lucky - good wage, good holiday allowance, frequent appraisals and good career progression. The dream is of course to be a full time mum once I have a baby, possibly working as a childminder or something to earn whilst also being a mum, and then maybe teaching once kids are grown up.
BTW, has anyone got any new year's resolutions? Mine is better posture!Proud to be a moneysaver! :cool:0 -
no new years resolutions here; no point as they always get broken! cynical, moi????0
-
My usual resolution is to lose weight (could do with shifting about 2 stone ideally) but it never happens and it's certainly not going to this year!
Laura, I'm not too far away from you. We live less than 10 minutes walk from the beach in Southsea and I love living by the sea. We rent at the moment, would love to buy but it's dead expensive here. My ex was from Poole so spent quite a lot of time in Dorset back in the early 90s. I thought it was a gorgeous place to live.
I've really enjoyed reading about what you all do for a living. I've worked in customer services for Southern Electric for about 10 years, not what I thought I'd end up doing when I left school, but it pays the rent :rotfl:I consider my "main" job as being a mum anyway, it's FAR more important & rewarding than listening to people whinge on the other end of a phone0 -

i can remember looking at the house prices when we came there in August and couldn't believe some of them! we cant even afford a house around here and i am in a area of very low house prices. Me and OH viewed a house at £180k few months ago that looked like it had featured on Grand Designs, it was amazing!!! And cheap too! But we couldnt afford it!
We are still hoping to move to Weymouth area one day (!) as I think it would be lovely to hav a family so close to the coast. Wales is nice and peaceful, i live in the middle of no where, been snowed in lately! But theres no jobs and the ones available are poorly paid. It sucks!0 -
Hi, thanks for the welcome xx
I live in york and im a sahm, house prices here are appauling, i live in a 2 bed terrace but have my eye on a 6 bed house in bridlington (i would love to foster and the extra bedrooms would be ideal)
The 6 bed house i have my eye on costs less than my house would you believe lolThere's this place in me where your fingerprints still rest, your kisses still linger, and your whispers softly echo. It's the place where a part of you will forever be a part of me.

Ooooo you chatty lot!;)
I'm sitting here waiting for DS to get back from his first paper round!!!!:eek::eek: Where is he??? I should of told him he's not allowed to get a job to save me from worrying:o:rotfl:I'll be even worse tomorrow - today he has someone showing him what to do... tomorrow by himself:eek::o
Well I'm here in Devon near both beaches and countryside:p I work from home but sadly*wicked laugh* have to travel to the lovely nearby beach resorts:D The one place I have to go to has the most amazing views on the way!
Back on subject... have woken with what I think are AF painsBLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120
