Hugs Mermaid - the 20 week mark was a really bad time for me as well. I wasn't really showing or feeling movements and had no real feelings towards the baby (infact I was a tiny bit gutted that he was a boy and I wanted a girl!) I had a lot of stressful stuff going on at the time, and I'm a retail manager so was incredibly stressed at work also (run up to xmas) I think I was also very resentful that he was impacting on my ability to do my job as I couldn;t do any of the physical stuff that I needed to and had to take breaks when I could've been working. I genuinely love my job, and it's the one thing that I'm really good at as I have no hobbies and take no pride in housework so found it all really hard to take.

It got to the point where I couldn't cope with anything and cried at every little thing so ended up taking 2 and a half weeks off sick over xmas which did me a world of good. Was still really hard after I went back but as he's got bigger and moves about more my feelings have massively increased for him.

I'm 27 weeks now, really showing (finally!) and can feel him kicking most of the time and love watching him move about. I can't believe the overwhelming love I have for him now and it has made everything else so much easier as he is now my only priority.

I'm sure it will get easier and better for you as your pregnancy progresses but in the meantime try and take some 'me time' and make sure your OH (and friends) knows how low you are feeling so that he can support you and comfort you as best he can.

CAFC - I was having a lot of problems with my hips and pelvis, also around 18 - 21 weeks. Was in agony all the time. When I went off work it disappeared within 2 days which I put down to not being on my feet all day, but I've been back 4 weeks now and no signs of it returning. Can only assume it was stress related. Hope yours sorts itself out aswell.

I'm going to head out for a swim I think...not sure whether to have another cup of tea first or not tho lol

mermaid- I feel the same about my second bubs too. I put it down to not having the time to think about it like with no. 1. I feel guilty constantly, I keep getting into bed and saying to my bump "I love you just as much as your big sis you know, I'm just busy, hope your OK!" To ease my guilt lol! I'm sure it is normal! I hope! :D

Scan went brilliantly, everything as it should be. Even if we had of wanted to know sex they couldn't have told as baby was crossed legs, curled up in a ball. COuldn't get a very good pic either as baby was still laying face down so pic was face on with it's arm in front of face and the sonographer was great and tried for ages to get a good pic for us.

As for hip pains, I had sciatica with DD the whole way through, and it has returned this time too. However as well as that I have a shooting pain which runs from the middle of my pubic bone, down my inner thigh, to my knee. It is much worse when getting up etc but is improved by taking a walk, so think it is muscular rather than SPD or anything serious. Babies eh! The things they put us through, and it is worth every minute! :D

I missed a few Congrats I think! So well done to Them, and welcome to the world new babies! Vibes to all that need them.

    http://www.tescopampers.co.uk

Its for a free pampers hamper from Tesco when you buy a pack of pampers new baby size 1 or 2 nappies. You have to sign up to pampers village, then to Tesco baby and toddler club and then they send you a voucher out for your free hamper. Not sure if its any good to anyone but thought i'd post it just in case :)

oooh I forgot to say - Love your bump pic EA. It is so neat and you look really slim everywhere else. (very jealous!!) Have to agree that you don't look big as well.

I served a lady at work the other day who was very heavily pregnant (she looked huge) and asked how long she had left. She said 8 weeks and the shock must have shown on my face lol. I will still be working when I;ve 8 weeks to go....no way I could cope if my bump gets that big!!! I didnt like to tell her that I was due in 13 weeks as I don;t think she'd even noticed I was pregnant lol

Maybe it was one of those horrible buzzy flies. They make a vibrating noise and would stop as you get nearer. Haven't made it to swimming yet....really feel like I can't be bother today. Might just go for a walk and go swimming on Thursday instead. it was really busy last monday so wasnt much fun.

I can totally sympathise with this as noone could even tell I was pregnant until I was around 24 weeks! Seems to have got really big really quickly but I still don't think I'm particularly big for 27 weeks....must get DH to take a pic of my later, I haven't posted one since I was 18 weeks I think!

I always wished for a big bump and i got one, but now i cant wait until she's out of there! lol.

Turning round in bed is such an effort, and to get off the sofa i need to shuffle to the edge and pull myself up lol. Also i cant sit up from laying down, i have to do it in stages hehe.

Cant wait to be able to lay on my back without my internal organs being squashed lol.
