I am worried that they will make us interact cos I totally dont want to lol, I was too scared to go last week, but as this week is about breastfeeding I really need to go.
I feel like that about ours. I've been given a list of places where they're held and the leaflet says no need to book, just turn up. They're all in the day which is no good to us with work apart from Trafford general which is a Tuesday evening.
Last time I saw the midwife she asked had I thought about going and when I said the Trafford ones were best for us she pulled a face. She then said I'd need to check that they were definitely going ahead (they're switching all maternity care to Wythenshawe Hospital) but I'm sure they will be as I'm still having antenatal care there, and she said we'd need to book as they get really busy because it's an evening. Feel a bit confused about it all now!! I'm seeing a midwife at the Hospital next week for anti D injection so I will ask then.
The same stupid midwife also said that I could go to the classes in April as I'm due in May....erm hello I'm due 2nd May so obviously a fairly good chance I could miss the last one!!!
I'm quite shy so also really worried about interaction side of things...I don't like looking stupid lol. Everyone keeps saying I'll make friends there but I don't think I'll talk to anyone else. I'm a really good mixer if I go somewhere on my own but not if I'm with DH.
Yay for the hosptial not ringing EAMummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
What is annoying is that im to old to go to the 'young mums drop in' lol!
Seeing as i was the youngest i was the most prepared in the group. They asked who had booked classes and i was the only one to say 'yes' and then they asked if anyone booked where they are giving birth, and again i was the only one to say 'yeah me..' lol. So ner to them
eta: I think i might get dressed lol. As much as i love being in my PJ's alllll day, i am more motivated to do stuff when im wearing actual clothes hehe0 -
People assume this one is a mistake too, I'm 24 and he's 22! Both my babies were planned lol I had hoped to have 2 by 21 but things didn't work out with dd's dad.
Some people are very rude about it!! Especially when you see how many really young mums there are - they must just not go to the classes etc coz of the attitude
I can't believe people feel they have a right to comment on this sort of thing!
I was at a meeting last week and one of the other managers (who I don't know very well) was asking about the baby and she said "Was it planned?"
It was as it happens, and I think it's fairly obvious that it was as I'm 28, got married last May and baby due this May, but I just thought it was such a rude personal question to ask someone! Plus what difference does it really make at the end of the day?!Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
Aww Mermaid sorry you didn't make the theatre, your OH sounds lovely though, x & I'm sure your bump will sprout soon! Mine popped up somewhere between 24 and 26 weeks & I now feel suitably massive!
Lovely bump EAMy bump regularly sticks his bum right up near by boobs, not too great when I'm driving!! Have you heard anything from the GTT yet? Fingers crossed you don't
Lol Gill did you not ask her if she's having twins? Seems to be a recurring theme for me in shops at the moment, I feel like saying 'look, it's obvious I'm not that big, and I'm not having twins, or I'd have said, have you no better answer?' OH told me off for being too touchy but seriously, what woman likes being told she looks like a whale?!
So glad the scan went well FB
Kindof I'm sure antenatal will be fineOurs was good surprisingly, everyone was around the same dates wise and she didn't force us to get involved. I was amazed by how much we learnt. She did say at the start that it was a social event and we were all to become friends, so OH & I were sizing up the other couples deciding who we'd befriend :rotfl:
Lol EA my OH thinks he's 18 still, to be fair, he does look young, but he's 30 this year, and he said he felt he had to join in more so they didn't think he was really young?! I just smiled & nodded, weird man logic!
SJ I'm feeling a lot better thanksI went to text you this morning in fact but couldn't find my phone, turns out I left it on OHs car so it's at work with him, doh.
Well I've just got in from Asda (exciting!), have been on a mission to find mice deterrents, as my darling cats left us a dead mouse this morning, which has got in the house somehow as they don't go outside  I'm too scared to open the cupboards incase there are more, so I'm trying to do a massive clean and make sure there's no droppings or anything anywhere then when OH gets home I'm going to make him strip back the kitchen cupboards with me to block up any gaps. Yuck yuck yuck! Tried doing some tidying before I went out but keep getting a really intense pain at the top of my stomach, like a pulled muscle? I think maybe because it's all stretched outOh & to boot...I've lost my bank card, 2nd time in as many months
eta: Has anyone got a M&Ps pushchair? The Pro IP car seat has been reduced to £85 on the M&P site in a couple of coloursBaby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -
Agreed gill - loads of people don't plan but are just as happy - possibly happier!! than those that have.
Aw gymfiend that's not funat least your cats are around to help, although bringing it to your attention prob hasn't! Just do the tidying you can manage or be bothered to
And OH is lovely bless him, he did stomp back a bit friday night, but also offered to rebook tickets. Have tried to be especially nice to him all weekend but he tells me not to worry about it0 -
Really not fun
Could've cried when I saw it, it was so tiny and sweet looking I felt awful that they'd killed it?! Mum has given me mouse traps but I can't do that to them, poor things prob just looking for somewhere warm, but I really don't want anymore gross surprises!
One of my mums 'friends' asked in front of me not so long ago if she was disappointed that I'm not married, as she would be if her daughter got pregnant out of wedlock. Mum told her she was incredibly proud of us both and was disgusted that she could possibly suggest anyone would be disappointed at the thought of a grandchild/new babySome people really are rude though, pregnancy makes you public property!
Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -
my mum has got a thing you plug in that's supposed to keep things away, but don't know if it would affect the cats too. don't blame you on traps though, plus you then have to get them out yuk
we're not in the dark ages lol some peole choose to not get married at all!! good on your mum though, I love mum's that just say it how it is0 -

many months
God no lol! I hate personal comments about me as well. I've been coming home ranting coz all the customers are getting on my nerves talking to me about my pregnancy, they all ask the same questions "do you know what you're having?", "what are you hoping for?" (who is ever going to confess they'd rather have a boy or a girl??) and then there's some strange (and I do mean not all there!) ones who will say gushy things like "oooh it's so lovely to see you pregnant" (!!!!!!???!!!)
DH thinks I'm being touchy and ungrateful and that I should be happy that all these people are showing an interest.....but he;s not getting it a million times a day lol Had my first bump touch from a customer on Sat as well aaarghAgreed gill - loads of people don't plan but are just as happy - possibly happier!! than those that have.
I would totally agree with this - I think in some ways not planning it takes some of the pressure off. ie I felt terrible hating being pregnant because I wanted to be and chose to be....where my first friend got pregnant by mistake so could justifiably whinge about it lol
Also she's now got so much else going on (getting married, finding house) that she hasn't got time for a lot of the pregnancy worries and insecurities that I've had coz her life isn't revolving around the pregnancy like mine is.Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -

Yeah, it is always the same questions. I had my sister actually say, another girl, I bet you're disappointed aren't you?! A few others have made more subtle comments in that direction too. And actually, no, I was more disappointed when Kez was a girl coz I wanted a boy to be the family protector lol, but she has turned out so wonderfully :A I could never be disappointed in another girl!0 -
Gym - I know exactly how you feel! On pretty much most of my bump pics on fb they all have comments saying "god your massive!"
And i know im meausring big, but you wouldn't walk upto an overweight person and announce they are massive lol.
Also, i dont like killing wild mice either, i love animals so much and they count as an animal to me. When i lived at home in our old flat the whole block got mice and i just used to catch them in my hamsters plastic box thing and set them free :rotfl::p
Gill - Some people, when they find out i know the sex of the baby look at me in disgust and go "oh.. did you not want a suprise?"
And i hate having to justify myself for like the millionth time as to why i found out the sex! :rotfl:
I also hate the comment "well you could of bought everything in yellow"
I hate yellow... lol
Right i have gotten dressed, put the other car seat covers in the wash and did my lunch, chicken soup with some bread and butter. And an apple and RLT for afters0
