I feel your pain! Although it's not as bad here today as it was when DH had his friend here for the game the other night
Ahh bless him though he's just gone to get me a RLT0 -
Beenie - Amber is gorgeous!! I need someone to post some cute baby boy pics on here coz you're making me broody for a girl lol (hint hint three
Also Beenie, could you tell me what you thought of the Barnaby Bear Bouncing Chair that you had for Amber first? It's on my shortlist for my little one.
I'm actually debating between 2 bouncy chairs atm if anyone can give any advice on what to look for.
This one from Argos which is Barnaby Bear
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3755259/Trail/searchtext%3EBARNABY+BUTTON.htm
Or this one from Kiddicare which is Winne the pooh
http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplayA_0_10751_-1__77500_10001_
The winnie the pooh one should be much dearer which makes me think it should be better. (don't know if that's just false logic tho lol) And it looks a lot sturdier, but I don't if that means it wouldn't vibrate as well!
I don't need anything too fancy, just something that will keep baby happy and entertained and hopefully last quite well.
I like it, although i'm not sure i would pay so much for it, i got mine on eBay for about £3 so v.v.bargainous.
Looking at the Winnie one, i'd say the Barnaby one is better, because...- Winnie one has 2 vibrate speeds - but the Barnaby one has a dial where you can turn it to any setting you want
- Winnie only does vibrate - Barnaby does vibrate or bounce
- Winnie plays tunes - Barnaby music is a bit weird, i.e not kids toy style, more like chilled classical type, but it also has wind/sea noises or animal noises (our preferred setting) it has volume control too.
- However - the toy bar on Winnie looks more interesting to look at.
I actually bought a fisher price one to replace the Barnaby because it's not got much for her to look at and our new one has lights, and is interactive for when she's kicking around (not quite yet though), so she will sit and watch the lights now which keeps her occupied for longer. I paid £25 for mine in Tesco in the bargains aisle.
I would highly highly recommend looking for whichever one locally on eBay. They go for pittance because collection only, and they all have removable covers to wash so would be as new. Wish i'd done that for the new one but i still got a good deal i think.0 -
Hi all sorry that i went AWOL after my announcement but i've been busy being mumsie and the lappy charger went faulty too.
Hope every one is well tried to skim but didn't take much in except the bath stuff and aliens in tummies lol
Baby is fine, feeding great but failed at the BF slightly still trying to but have been expressing and giving formula I'm a little disappointed, but baby getting fed comes first.
Will try to do my birth story today too and get a pic on, We have decided on a name (we think lol) but the spelling is now the problem could we have your opinions please.
Aden
Aidan
Aiden
Aidyn
Ayden
Aydan
AydinHelp please
Hugs and vibes to all,Good to see you back. What happened with BF'ing, does he not wanna latch on?
I'd automatically spell it as Aiden if someone said it to me. But if you wanted it to be different to the norm then i'd go for Ayden? I prefer Aiden though0 -

Thanks for this Beenie, looks like Barnaby might be a winner. Funnily enough I much prefer the toy bar on the Barnaby one (sadly is what attracted me to it first!) but I love bearsAnother negative for Winnie is that it seems to take up a lot of room.
Will definitely keep checking ebay as I have plenty of time (ish!) to get it and it looks like it will be readily available in Argos if it gets a bit too close for comfort.Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
Hello!!!
We just put the crib in our room and set up the sheets and blankets and its all lovelyShe has her own little corner now. But the mobile we bought wont attach to the crib cause its broke a little
So we're going to buy a new one i think.
We're about to go and sort the nursery out now and then pack my labour bag.
Get my GTT results tomorrow. Well actually, if its positive i get a call if its negative no one calls lol. You think they'd call either way
Am also meeting with my friend and chief bridesmaid to wedding plan,
EA your dream house & £400 comment made me laughare you & OH looking to move still? Or are you just a bit sad like me, and like to look at houses?
I really can't move anytime soon but it doesn't stop me dreaming..:D
Our contract isn't up until September, but i still look at houses onlineIts a bit of a hobby lol. Once i finish Uni and get a decent job we can afford a mortgage cause the governtment do this thing where 'key workers' can buy a house and they buy 12% of it to help out and you buy it back later. Or something like that. And being a Midwife counts as a 'key worker'
EA - ordered my collage from photobox, did one for baby with fave scan pic, and some other bits. Then cheekily registered OH too and did another with pics of the dog from when he was a puppy thru till nowWill just need to find frames foe them now, someone said Wilkos do the right size, so hopefully shouldnt cost too much
Oooh! It should come really quickly, ours came Saturday but i have to collect if from PO  Apparently we were out, infact we were in bed and the doorbell didn't ring, so the postman is a little liarTwinkles08 wrote: »Evening all!Where's EA today?
Im here!I went to my Hospital tour y'day and all day was having really bad pains in my bump, they varied from underneath, my back and across the sides and front, and OH thought i was in labour lol. Only eased off when i laid down, so i spent all day on the sofa with my duvet

OH MY GOD!
This is what I get for taking most of the day to read a pregnancy mag, 5 pages to catch up on!!!!
Had a rubbish night, bump was so tight and cannot get comfy in any position and then the room got really stuffy, so couldnt breath....
This morning was just incredibly bored, cabin fever.
With no car, we had to go to sainsburys with sis and BIL for weekly shop but we did ok, bought my veggies for the week to be really good, and got loads of fruit for dh at work as well, which hopefully will help coz hes been moaning all week about his dodgy stomach, did tell him if he didnt eat so much crap, he'd probs feel better!
Anyway, didnt spend too much, and he did buy me a pregnancy mag which came with a free change mat, so Im thinking, leave one downstairs, have a larger one upstairs, and the travel one in the change bag.....
Had another nommy dinner, but now i need more cheese LOL Become addicted to silverskin onions as well....
According to preggo mag, baby now measures length of a size 5 shoe.... freaked me out coz im only a 2 1/2! LOL
Thanks for info on buying a repo house, I didnt realise it was much different. Seen another couple of rentals we might go to view though...... really want to know we'll be in our own place in March....which will be 4 months bunking in someone else's house!
Bump has had a huge growth spurt over the past few days, think that explains the tightness.....looking mammoth according to DH, and with my maternity winter coat, I look pregnant as opposed to just wearing an oversized coat!
Think I'll be making a skittle milkshake later after everyone going on for days about mc donalds m/shakes......
Hope everyone is having a good evening xxWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Hi everyone.
Had a really nice weekend. DH came home from work the other day with a huge soft toy dog, because he thought 'I could do with some extra cuddles'! I picked up some baby boys clothes from a lovely lady off of Freecycle - they really nice too.
After all the talk about Maccy Ds milkshakes, I couldn't get to McDonalds, but DH bought me some Strawberry milkshake and whizzed it up with vanilla icecream and it was almost as good!
Hope everyone's doing alright - Nikkit, I've got my fingers crossed for you.
Som - sending get well soon vibes for your stepsister.
CAFC and EA, we keep looking out for houses - we can't wait to move! Our walls are so thin that we can hear the neighbours when they go to the loo! It's going to be a nightmare with a newborn here. But we are currently in shared ownership (we own 25%) and can't afford to move at the moment (we're slightly in negative equity). We're desperately trying to save for a deposit at the moment and to cover the likely shortfall when we sell our house.
Beenie - thank-you for the pic of Amber, she's gorgeous.
Conventgirl - I have no idea how you managed 4am, 10pm is late enough for me!
Yay for maternity leave, 3 weeks and counting....!Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'

Haven't been on for a couple of days and it's taken ages to catch up.
Huge congrats to 3 and brednall
