  • Not really sure what issues are caused by BF if you don't carry on, as quite a lot of people start, and quite a few stop for one reason or another. Certainly if you are not sure you should look into it though, always best to be informed.

Yes it's quite a debatable subject lol. I know what I want to do, so I shall stick to my guns and not get too caught up in all the pros and cons in either choice. :)

oooh never chucked mixed spice in mine.....
might attempt that with some raisins/sultanas...
    cant have nuts, am allergic.....

think I'll spend tomorrow pm after house viewing checking out live journal and baking. Gonna walk OH into town to work and then i can pick up what I need....
Also need to have a hunt for the battery charger as well for camera......

DH is now back from work, and as much as he drives me insane when he's ill with "man flu" he does look pretty rough.... might have to have a hunt for some vicks and see if I can make up a bowl of hot water with some in to help him get some sleep (and therefore let me get some sleep!) LOL

Bout a week ago in the telegraph (i think it was) there was an article which claims that there is no real benefit of one over the other, esp with the advances in formula.

Im gonna try BF but wont kill myself over it. Mainly gonna try it out because its free, but Im a bit odd because I would rather express into bottles and feed Little L from bottle..... so me and DH can have more of an equal share but also because I feel a bit weirded about it....:o

Heya ladies quick catch up before bed, was so nice to get back to aqua and not as hard as I'd expected tho did get very hot. Made the most of the journey and popped into to see my dad for a cuppa after :) Anyhoo just got back and drank my RLT while catching up and have just realised still havent gotten around to starting EPO!

Drea - welcome and congrats x

Sonee - think its probably to do with your sickness but have heard plenty of people say they didnt gain any weight early on.

Kindof - what type of blankets are you after? Fleece, cellular, shawl and what size? Oh and there all the TV shows I watch too, love deliver me hehe.

No idea about feeding, turns out we are covering that next week at antenatal! My advice would be to either wait till your antenatal or ask MW. Oh and am another even number person when it comes to TV and stereo volumes lol!

EA - will make the most of the photobox offer tomorrow thanks for the advice on the free prints BTW :D

CAFC - happy viewing tomorrow, hope its what you want and you have a house all sorted soon x Oh and get well vibes for man flu OH.

Conventgirl - yeay for scan, I never liked my 22 week scan pics as much as my earlier ones either!

Well apologies if I missed anyone like I said only a quickie, night xx

Was wondering if anyone on here is planning to bottle feed right from the start? I'm planning to take the sma bottles that are ready to use to hospital when my time comes but I was wondering how you go about starting to feed when you bottle feed in hospital? Because if you breast feed they encourage you to do that straight away don't they, so would you do the same with bottle feeding or would you just wait a while before offering a feed? confused!

When i was having my daughter i said i wanted to bottle feed they asked what milk i was going to use, and they provided the milk. while i was having the ventouse they were getting the milk ready! they also provided the milk until i went home. does that help?:)

I love those shows too, and Home Birth Diaries! DH isn't so keen, too much for him I think! He doesn't want to be looking at the business end when it's me, so certainly not when it's anyone else :rotfl:

Thats exactly how I felt, I dont know why but I felt weirded about baby being BF direct from breast, its taken a lot for me to get over that

I do want to express as well though cos I do want OH to feed, I think it helps with bonding.

Som - I dont know (that makes me a bad mam lol) I dont know which ones to go for? I dont even know what size I need? I love the TV shows :) my antanatl on monday is breastfeeding, I am looking forward to that

It annoys me on the american ones, cos tehre is like a room full of family, I said to OH nothing would put me off more than all those people being in there looking! its crazy, and sometimes the woman in labours dad is there like totally at business end staring, and I think ERGH god no thats gross her dad shouldnt be looking at his daughters foof! totally gross! that just my opinion anyway

Som I had a crap sleep too and I am at work :( I was dreaming loads of vampires were after me :( it was horrible

Argh, just wrote a long post & the internet ate it! Ok, so quick attempt at remembering:

Kindof, hope work's ok, remember, no stress :)

Som - same for you, & Moet for tea sounds lovely to me!! I can't wait to have a drink post baby, is that awful?! & glad aqua was good - are you going to keep going til the end?

    Congrats Andrea!

Sonee don't worry about weight gain, I didn't gain anything til 23 weeks and was never sick once, and at just short of 35 weeks I've put on just over a stone. It varies massively and it's all normal :) Are you near Huddersfield? Just asking as we got our pushchair from that M&P outlet, not sure if there are others though?

SJ how was the curry? Is baby here yet? :P Wouldn't it be ace if it worked like that, have a curry, dtd, oh look, baby's here!

Ymakes - SIL stopped breast feeding after a week and was given medication to stop the supply & as far as I know there were no issues. Do you think you might change your mind? I was told at the start it was unlikely medically that I'd be able to and I was quite happy as I was weirded out by the whole idea, but as time's gone on I really want to now and am going to be gutted if I can't?! Also, a lady I spoke to recently with a young baby told me she'd bottle fed as her OH wanted to be involved and she wishes she never had as he's only home for one feed a day as he's working, so she could've just expressed but by not she's made her own life more difficult because she can't just quickly feed in the night she has to go sort bottles etc. Not trying to convince you one way or another just a couple of things that have made me think :)

CAFC hope the viewing goes well today.

Does anyone think it's weird to ask for dad to have skin to skin for a couple of minutes before I do? I wanted to ask at antenatal but was too nervous!

Well I'm another for the rubbish nights sleep club. Ended up out for dinner last night with OHs parents - they invited us out, choose the restaurant, ordered the food...then told us to pay the £80 bill. Thank god they're leaving tomorrow & aren't back til the end of April. They do my head in, caused a massive argument between me and OH, and I sat at the table with a face like a slapped a*se all night, then got to pay for the pleasure, grrrrrrrrr. They're eternally having a go about everything we do - OHs job is cr&p and he should be self employed, I'm lazy for taking time off once baby is here, I'm also an awful mother for buying things second hand for baby because 'you're hardly desperate are you'...ARGHHHHHHHH. Just because they're made of money, they think we should live like they do, seriously, if I want to buy a second hand coat for my baby what bl&7dy difference does it make, I'm obviously going to wash it?! & if we didn't have to buy them dinner all the s&dding time then I'd have a whole load more money to spend on him. Then they were going on about skiing, oh just think in a couple of years time, we can all go together, I felt like saying that I'd rather poke myself in the eyes with toothpicks than go on holiday with them :mad: Oh & the best bit, baby is going to have 2 middle names both representing each of my parents & his step dad told me he found this offensive!!!

Sorry...I'm always ranting about them aren't I!! On the bright side they're gone tomorrow so this should be the last one for a couple of months :rotfl:
