Yorkygal you can BF if you wanted to and give the odd bottle of formula if you wanted OH to do a night feed etc, I'm sure I was told that once my milk had come in and had a bit of a routine it was ok to express- I did after about a week or so. On thinking..It is poss to express from birth cos it's encouraged for prems or babies in special care ??? x

Oh right thanks for that ;) x

Just going to echo what Choccie said Yorky, in the contented baby book I'm sure she (can't remember her name!) suggests a bottle of formula at night to encourage sleeping through as you can control what's taken, I'm debating this as a possibility if I am able to bf. Think it will be nice for OH to have that responsibility :)

On the milk note - just about to order our shopping with Tesco & not sure what formula to buy? I want to get a few cartons or something in just in case it doesn't work out but no idea what to go for, how do you decide?!

    all back from MW ,

well with the bottle feeding thing she was fine when i said i had no desire in BF , and asked if hospital have the milk or do i take my own , well hospital have them and theres no pushing to breast feed,

Also with me saying the other day that i see her near my next week rather than at my proper week , e.g , i saw her today at 36+5 which is nearer to 37 ratehr than 36 , next time at 38 + 5 ( well no as im at consultant that day ) so i will see her at 39+5 then at 40+5 and i was worried that sweep inductions will take place later than it should , well she said not to worry , as she wil see me when she wants and book inducions at 12 days over no later so not to worry , but next time at hospital , if they want to see me again ask them to book a 40 week appt and they will book induction then , and to call ehr fro a weep a few days b4 induction ,

    so thats a relief.

she thought little man was breech but after alot of pressing and poking realised head down , yay , not engaged but like she said 2nd and subsequent pgs its likely engaed will happen at labour , and even if it was engaged it will prob pop in and out many times like 1st pgs ,

also told her i fell downstairs last week , she was shocked i didnt go to hospital to get checked , well i didnt know that i should of gone with no bleed , etc , but i should of gone due to being rh neg blood, incase antibodies had to work as i may of had internal bleed and i may have no antibodies in my body now, so more bloods taken now .

other than that spoke about EPO calcium RLT , etc , and she said they do not recommend any off it , its all up to each individual but to be very very careful while taking anything , so al i am going to is RLT , as i would rather go by my MW advise.

any way 37 weeks sunday , but i wont be doing any eviction stuff as i would like to get to 40 weeks safely , and know my little man has had the best start inside me IYKWIM ,,

GF its just trial and error as you just dont know what your baby will be happy with o start with , maybe get a cpl cartons of each just to try , then once you know which one is right for your baby you can buy the tins HTh

  • Glad you were reassured about appts Nikki :j
Mw also said on phone this morn that she's going to squeeze me in and given me an appt for 28 w appt and bloods next fri so happy about that now as 1st bloods done in booking in apt were borderline so think I will need something now. Also will be good to chat to professional about scans soft markers and consequences, feeling a lot happier now:D

good good , choccy , shes ok when she needs to be , she always squeezes me in if the reception say no appts , like she said if when i go to consultant at 38 +3 and they dont talk about stuff then call her and she will squeeze me in on the friday
Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec
  • I have to agree it is great to be able to chat about the bottle v breast without people forcing their opinions or being judgemental. I think both options have their pros and cons and it should be a woman's decision on what she feels is best for her/baby/family etc. So far a midwife has only mentioned breastfeeding to me briefly and just informed me that we have to bring our own milk if we plan to formula feed, which is perfectly fine.

1more? - I was 15 weeks on wednesday and I'm rather envious that you will have your 20 week scan before me :D I can't wait! I have 5 weeks and 3 days to wait for mine though. *huff* I've noticed this past week my tummy has become much firmer on the lower half and feels really 'odd' for want of a better word. I'm starting to feel more pregnant now but in my clothes I just look like I have a proper gut on me which I hate! lol.

    Afternoon everyone :)

Back from my GTT, finally :D I was so bored, and my DS got boring to. I just sat there watching people coming out from their scans and saying i wanted one lol.

The glucose drink was nice :) It was orange flavour and they dilute it with water a bit. Results in 48 hours apaprently.

If someone calls me its positive, if no-one calls me its negative.

Had a lovely sandwich though, just a standerd co-op one but after not eating for like 15ish hours it was sooo nice :)

Oooh, my belly casting kit came today. I got it from the argos clearance page on ebay, they RRP at £30, and it was £8 :money:
So i'll do it this weekend and post some pics :)

Gym- Your IL's sound like right @rseholes! I would of been tempted to say "Oh we dont have any cash, we thought YOU invited US out" to them!

Im planning to Breastfeed, but if i fail i'll go over to bottle feeding, we have to cartons of ready made milk just incase. But the whole debate about BF and FF is silly. Its upto the parents whatever they want to do :)

Also i read with BF you pass on your own immunities, well im naturally immune to TB (no jab for me at school woohoo!) so i want her to have that immunity :)
