Just seen the funniest thing on a baby show, a (rather rough-looking) couple were on and at Parentcraft class, the mum-to-be asked whether she was ok to sit with her legs crossed as her boyfriend kept telling her not to. The MW said he was right as she was more prone to thrombosis, varicose veins etc.

The boyfriend then said that he thought she shouldn't be sitting with her legs crossed as he thought that would give the baby a limp!!!

    Hello :-)
I've got my two at home today, both schools are shut, yet there's hardly any snow!! Crazy LOL. It's my 20 week scan on 27th Jan, last night me and DH were discussing 'finding out' or not. Previously we've not found out the sex as I love the surprise at the end, but this time I'm getting really curious!! DH doesn't mind either way whether we find out or not, but I keep thinking about it and I just can't wait!! On the other hand I really want to surprise everyone else when baby is born and I know I'd find it so hard to keep it to myself if I did find out! I've always been dead set against finding out and I'm very surprised my feelings are changing this time lol.
    What about everyone else?
To know or not to know? That is the question LOL
    Saz x
    :heart2: THANK YOU MARTIN!! :heart2:

    Hello kindofgilr :)

My scan is at 2:20pm 2moz :D Really can't wait! I was advised to stop wearing the underwired bras on my 2nd trimester with my first and it helps with your own comfort as well as not being too tight and digging into your growing bump. No i didn't mean that babbas up that high yet but my bumps quite swollen recently. With my son ppl thought i was carrying triplets because i was so big,had lots of water...probably a re-run of my first pregnancy!! :S

Ah yes I agree, it KILLS lol, I manged till about 4 weeks ago then had to get a non-wired one cos I was getting to the point where I was unable to breath

I think I experienced braxton hicks last night, I had moments where I felt the breath had been knocked out of me and I had to take a deep breath and breathe out slowly, does that make sense? it happeend about 4 times bwefore bed

Saz I say find out lol but thats just me lol

    Hello ladies :hello:

Im 14 weeks pregnant with my first (due 12/07/10) and just starting to look at equipment, etc - I find it all a bit overwhelming to say the least - how do you know what is "necessary" and what you will never use?

DP suggested we break it down and look at one thing at a time of the necessary things, so the first thing we are looking at is a pram/pushchair. But we have no idea :o - so I was hoping someone could suggest some suitable options?

It needs to be ok to use from birth and I would prefer it that you could choose to have the baby facing you at least at the beginning. It MUST be able to be used on sand as we live by the sea and the beach is a big part of our life. We also enjoy walking in muddy woods and on the moor so a fairly robust off-road type would be great. But then it equally needs to be ok for walks into town, etc. We dont mind getting a separate car seat so are not looking for a travel system. Cost wise - please suggest anything as we will look at getting more expensive options second hand anyway. Any ideas??? Please help me!! TIA
  • Yes it does make sense :)
Had my son four years ago though,it really seems like ages ago. It's all gradually coming back. Feel alot different so far with this pregnancy, it is true when they say each pregnancy is different. Wasn't sick with my first but my 1st trimester this time, i had bad sickness. Skins clearing up from the spots, lol, and feeling abit better in myself. Oh i really don't know whether I should leave the sex of the child a surprise or find out 2moz :S What shall I do!? xx
