  • I had C sections - but a close girlfriend of mine who delivered shortly after I did, got the shock of her life when she was informed that she had passed a bowel movement whilst in labour! I think I was the only person she told - and that was over ten years ago. A secret worth keeping I would think.

I gave up jogging for health reasons; my thighs rubbed together and my knickers caught fire!

I thought as I had had a c-sec, I didn't know I was going to bleed. I thought it came out when they delivered the baby(or should I say removed...).

My friend argued that you couldn't poo coz of the pressure of the head..I will have to show her this...

Both of those are perfectly normal events. They were certainly mentioned in the books I read and also discussed at ante natal.

We swapped notes at post natal group meetings as to the length of time we bled for after giving birth. It was a great relief to me as it was health visitor led and mine went on for weeks.

The umbilical cord. I was 18 when i had my DD1 and nobody told me how long and ugly it was. Still haven't got over the shock and i'm now 38.Also after pains. We go through all the labour pains and dear mother nature gives us more pain. Life is so unfair. And i've got P.M.T sorry.
When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile :D

My biggest worry was that i would do a poo, but my OH assured me that i didnt!!!!
My biggest shock was a couple of days after having DS, i had just got out of the shower and was drying myself off, when i realised my front was still wet, dried myself again, and then saw i was still wet!!!! My milk had come in and i hadnt realised!!!!!!

No one told me that some of the sack like thingy that covers the baby can stay in you, without going into details, use your imaginations, lets just say one day, a few days after giving birth, I noticed 'something' hanging out of me, I pulled it and felt something pull inside.

I was terrified my womb was going to fall out sooooooo I said nothing until my midwife came, I showed her and told her I thought I was having a prolapse.

She laughed and said it was part of that cowl thingy and nothing to worry about.

It matters not if you try and fail,
And fail, and try again; But it matters much if you try and fail, And fail to try again.

And that your nipples go brown and that line from your belly button to the top of your pubic hair appears and sometimes gets hairy, that something transforms your lovely pert boobs into a great bit 38DD big ladies chest and they never go away. No spaniels ears for me with the breastfeeding malarky.

Stretch marks, like a magical thing but in a bad way, you literally wake up one day to see that someone has drawn all over your thighs, belly and bum with bright red crayon, kind of.

Bladder incontinence, laughing isn't ever quite the same, sneezing is awful and coughing becomes a battle between losing contol and gasping for air.

    I could go on but I won't.
