Ooh quiet afternoon, thought there would be pages to catch up on. Well finally got out and went for a mooch around the huge B&Q up the A3, spotted a rug we like for the living room (landlord is paying as they aren't replacing the carpets boo! but the rug is george so shouldnt moan too much). Also had a look at shelves and nursery stickers etc there are some really nice bits, but leaving it atm. Then went to Asda and picked up my Bounty pack and one half of my order (the vest tops hadn't arrived yet :(), also got a 101 dalmations fleece dress(inc. top and tights) and teddy bear for £10 as had a voucher from ipoints :D

Nikkit - I lurve Star Bars so glad we're not barred from peanuts anymore, and will have to keep an eye out for those fruit pastels.

Sidekick - No advice for you but the girls on here sound like there talking sense, what ever you decide I wish you the best of luck.

    Ooh, 'tis quiet on here.

I'm just doing some eBaying- probably mad but have a few bits that I want to start at more than 99p so this will save some pennies. Putting it all on for 10 days.

Feeling a bit stressy this evening. Had a nap at 3:30 till about 5, then didn't feel any movement from bubs when I got up for nearly an hour. I tried a can of coke and a hot drink but nothing worked. I was on the brink of phoning the maternity ward when baby started moving. I've had a few movements since then, but still quieter than normal so I'm umming and ahhing whether to go in. I think I'm paranoid after this morning.....

ETA- Baby is now doing somersaults for Britain in there so I feel much clamer now!

  • GISI - I think its totally understandable your paranoid after this morning. If your gut instinct is to call, then I would do it just to put your mind at ease, especially if the hospital isnt tooooo far away.

My midwife on Friday said to me not to worry as long as baby was moving 'normally' but tbh unless I am sat down quiet, I dont really notice, its more at bedtime I really notice movements, or sat at laptop not doing much.

Well done for doing some ebaying :) After our roast I decided to clean the oven a little, well I did the door and one of the shelves and I was knackered!! Mind you, to be fair it was a right state :o, took yonks to get it back to the silver!! Might attempt the other shelf tomorrow, little and often eh!!

Aww GISI glad bubs started moving for ya'! It must've just been having a quiet period, perfectly normal i'm sure! fatty, I'm the same - if I'm up and about and doing stuff I almost never notice if baby is moving so it's really hard to say what is "normal" for it or not! I notice it most when sat down quiet in the evenings or at my desk at work...

    Evening all

Sidekick - I haven't really got any advice for you. When I fell pregnant with ds1 at 21 I was over the moon, and never even thought about how much my life was going to change... Maybe I was a bit naive, I don't know! I think we still managed to do couple stuff it just meant a little more organising that's all. I am 30 now and on baby 4... I was watching my three playing this morning and my heart could have melted, it was amazing seeing them laughing and giggling together.
As has already been said, talk it through with someone impartial, but also have a think about who you have that can help out with childcare/babysitting and emotionally etc....

Hmmm that did turn into advice!!

I am wondering myself how I'm going to manage with a 14mth old and a newborn as well as making sure I don't neglect the older two, they are still quite young too

Hello ladies, just logging on to tell you that i had my little boy, Seth Edward on 7th November, 3 weeks and 2 days early. He weighed 6lb 2 and a half oz.
I had planned to post more regularly once i was on my maternity leave, but little Seth had other ideas and i only got a week off!! He is truly a joy and i don't know how i ever lived without him. Can somebody update the birth list for me?
I will get to a birth story if i can ever put him down!!

  • Just had a nom nom tea of vegetarian sausage rolls, salad and jacket potatoes. It was so good, and even better, hubby made it!

Sidekick- all I can add to what others have said is that it is totally normal to feel panicked and scared of your life changing, but ultimatelt only you and your OH can decide whether it's what you want. I know I am very lucky that OH and I have both always wanted babies, but that's not to say I don't freak out sometimes about it all.

BTW- Tesco have 20% off all clothing at the mo including baby clothes :money:

Congratulations on the birth of Seth, Faye. Another gorgeous name!

  • Congratulations Faye on the safe arrival of Seth :) Glad things are going well xx
