  • OH and I are just debating how far it is reasonable for us to travel at this point! I think half an hour on the motorway is too far, he doesn't! He is pointing out that there are other hospitals if I go into labour, but I don't want to risk it!

Off for a bimble somewhere- need to get out the house I think!

Labour vibes to Fattybooboo and Charliedavis. Boogellyboo, I'll keep hold of yours for now.

I just cannot wait for christmas to arrive soon. I really want to decorate the house, make cards (hopefully ), wrap the pressies and crack open the christams choccies. :D Also want to see how it goes with santa taking away DS's dummies - hopefully the excitement of christmas will take his mind off the lack of dummies.

    :xmassign: :xmastree: :snow_laug

Me too!!! I love Christmas and am going on ML right as December begins, so I'm looking forward to spending the 1st week of it getting decorations up!! :D

Also, this might sound really dumb but I saw on Supernanny a good technique for taking away dummies...little girl is told that the dummy fairy is coming to collect dummies for wee little babies that really need them, so gather up all the dummies in the house into a cool bag, then hang bag on tree outside (making a big deal out of it the whole, getting girl really excited about dummy fairy) overnight. The dummy fairy then comes in the night and takes the dummies and leaves little girl a lovely wrapped present on the tree. Little girl goes out the next morning and gets shiny new present and forgets all about her dummies.

Of course, you'd have to adjust it slightly to work with a little boy, but it seemed to work well! Granted, I've not had kids so could be totally rubbish idea! :rotfl:

  • Gisi and Fattybooboo Im still sending vibes your way, infact you can both have mine for today too. I feel full of a cold and cant stop sneezing, my sinuses are all swollen and I generally feel carp so dont think I want to go through labour on top of this. I cant believe Im telling belly monkey to stay put rather than get out :o

Has Charliedavis not been on? Maybe she got her due date baby but if not labour vibes your way too!

I still didnt get my cast done  OH was tired and I didnt fancy sitting in cold plaster by the time I convinced him we needed to get it done. I'll just have to bite the bullet and get it done tonight.

Hi Boogelly, oh no sorry to hear you are feeling carp today :( Hope it goes away soon. No I havent seen Charliedavis on just lately, fingers crossed for her she has her due date baby, that would be cool!! Booooo to not getting ur cast done, cant wait to see it!!

GISI - Me and DH were talking about this the other day, as we were half thinking of going to the cinema which is a good 45 mins away, I wasnt sure this was a good idea, not only the journey but the sitting still in cinema for a couple of hours. Its such a job to know as chances are nothing would happen but then likewise I wouldnt want my waters breaking mid journey!!

I was thinking this morning, that based on my own dates, I wouldnt of been due until 19th Nov  If I was right, thats another week yet!! Hope I was wrong, lol!!

  • I love Christmas too and I think it will be lovely to be pg at Christmas too! We are at my parents' this year (take it in turn with them and DH's mum) but my sister and her husband will be there too. It will be the first Christmas in ages we have all been together and I'm really looking forward to it. Also BIL's brother is coming over from Australia. I like a house full so I'm excited about that too!

We are going up to IL's (Scotland) a week Saturday for a few days and MIL was saying we can all go to some big garden centre up there as they'll have all the xmas stuff in. DH wasn't interested but I'm really looking forward to it!!

I love Christmas too and hopefully could have bumper by then fingers crossed, which will just be amazing. I love the day itself round my mums with about 13 or 14 of us and all just getting on and having a laugh, but this year think oh wants it to be just us if bumper is here and a few weeks old. Also my cousin wants it at her mums this year where she is due the second week of Jan but everyone else is up in arms because we are always up at my mums and it's the bigger and warmer house. She just cant see that i will be very overdue or could have a very newborn baby and dont want to travel all that way. She can be a right cow some times and her mum seem to jump at evrything she wants. I can understand where she is coming from but one person out of 13-14 i dont think is very fair odds. We cant do the spilt xmas thing because of My Nan will feel like she has to choose and thats unfair so we are all meant to be going to my aunts, but as i said oh waould like it to be just us as he's used to a quite xmas day with this family and there is only about 6 of them. However i like a but xmas day so i am a bit stuck as i dont know what to do xxx:confused:
Darling son born 10/12/09 hopefully the 1st of many :j

hmmm, lou that's a sticky one! Perhaps some sort of compromise could be not to spend the WHOLE day at your mom's so you get a little time at home along but also get to see your family? It's complicated, for sure!

We're going to have it just be the 2 (or 3) of us, since obviously at that point anything could happen! Of course I'm secretly happy not to have to travel up to ILs :)

Boo & Gisi I dont think Id like to be too far from home now, Ive just been to asda which I can see from my house and thats far enough for me :o

Nikkit glad to hear things are good with your OH now.

Ive just placed an order with boots.com, they've got a xmas shopping event where you get 1200 points for every £50 you spend and there's a code knocking around for 1000 points on a £100 spend. In total Ive spent £150 but got £46 back in points :T And even though I know belly monkeys far too young to appreciate it yet, Ive bought her this for xmas http://www.boots.com/en/Elmo-Live_118518/

I love Elmo and this one tells stories and dances and blows kisses! Their are some fab clips on youtube of them.

Ok, I admit it, its more for me than baby :D:o
