Lou i'm feeling the same way, even though it's not my first. It's 30 days til my EDD and i'm scared, i'm so used to life just being me and DS. I'm scared of being on my own with a new baby again too but trying to think of the positives in being rid of the ex.

I had that when i was in hospital i just sat there and cried :( Infact i do it everytime im ill and i sit there and think how am i gonna cope if im ill with a newborn baby aswell :(

Luckily i know its just my hormones in overdrive and i only get ill like this when im preggers so it wont be an issue and i know that i will be fine i think its just the shock factor of everytime im in hospital though its like f**k im doing this on my own :(

I am soooo happy, just been for my belated 16 week appiontment (am 18 +1) and heard Baby Blob's heartbeat for the first time! Hubby wasn't there as he is away, so recorded it on my phone can't wait to play it to him!

Thanks girls glad it's not just me i have been so exicted now as you say beenie and aless the close it gets the more real it seems.

Beenie you will be fine on your own and with your ds, in fact i think it's only going to make you stronger than you already are. Also it's better to think that you are going to do this alone than think you might have someone else to rely on and then them not come though for you Iyswim.

Aless that was one thing that freaked me out not just being able to run around the shops if need be, I am just hoping that one day i forget that i ve had bumper and do just that. Like a friend of mine did.

    Thanks ladies

Lou good point, at least i know not to expect anything.

I remember when i had just had DS and i was so paranoid about leaving him in a shop or something. It was such a shock to the system having such a massive responsibility, and if i ever went to the shop without him i would start panicking thinking i'd just imagined leaving him with my mam and that i left him in the nappy aisle or on the bus:rotfl: (his pram was huge so not sure why i thought i would just walk away without realising:D)

I was just about to say i haven't felt baby move at all today, but i think i've just felt some gentle shifting, hope she's just tired and reassures me soon.

Hi everyone just popping back to say hello while I've been blessed with a spare minute.

Not had time to catch up hope everyone is doing ok, any birth news? Is GISI still here or has something come of the pains she's been having?

Dylan is 13 days old now and is keeping me extremely busy! Want to post a picture of him but will have to ask OH to help me. Had loads of problems BFing again (exactly the same as I had with my little girl) and it turns out its because he's tongue-tied (as we now suspect my little girl is too) . He's got a little op tomorrow to have it snipped so hopefully he will be a little bit more settled by then. Not looking forward to it though as he's so tiny. They say it doesn't hurt them as there are no nerve endings there but I'll be glad when it's over!

Nikkit - where I did read up to was that you and you're OH were having problems. I really hope they are sorted now and that nothing was in the fb lady thing (really sorry if I've missed any big development on this as I haven't read that far yet). Just wanted to say that me and OH nearly split up several times when I was pregnant and I even ended up looking at other places to live. Things are still sometimes a quite heated but we are so much closer now and I'm so glad that I didn't make any rash decisions. He was brialliant while I was in hospital and during the labour and it would have been horrible if he hadn't been there. I don't know exactly what the situation is with you now but sometimes pg hormones can make things seem much worse than they are. Hope things sort out for you hun x

Was hoping to have been able to write some of my birth story but Dylan has started to grizzle again. Have sent off for a sling so hopefully will have more hands free when that arrives.

    Take care everyone,

Labour + sticky vibes to all who need them xx
  • I get the same feeling girls every now and again it'll stop me in my tracks and i'll just think "oh my god, i'm having a baby"

It's kinda weird cos all I seem to think about is the baby but every now and then it just hits me. Then sometimes I freak out that I won't be a good enough mum but I'm sure it's just hormones and the usual worries :o
  • Morning ladies,

32B huge hugs, I cant believe the amount your having to cope with at the moment. Make sure you take some time for yourself and bubba too, I know it must be so hard though with everything thats going on x x

Gisi and Fattybooboo Im still sending vibes your way, infact you can both have mine for today too. I feel full of a cold and cant stop sneezing, my sinuses are all swollen and I generally feel carp so dont think I want to go through labour on top of this. I cant believe Im telling belly monkey to stay put rather than get out :o

Has Charliedavis not been on? Maybe she got her due date baby but if not labour vibes your way too!

I still didnt get my cast done  OH was tired and I didnt fancy sitting in cold plaster by the time I convinced him we needed to get it done. I'll just have to bite the bullet and get it done tonight.

JHA glad you got things sorted with the midwife :T

Fidget - is lovely to see you!! Glad to hear things are going fairly well. Hope things go well for Dylan's op tomorrow as even the smallest of things can seem so scary for a tiny baby (I had a frenectomy of my lower lip one when I was 18 and trust me it was farrrrr more invasive than the simple snip of a baby's tongue tie)! When you get a free moment, you should update your sig though! :D

MASSIVE LABOUR VIBES for GISI, FATTYBOO, CHARLIEDAVIS! And little ones for boogelly! :p
top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

would like to win a holiday, please!!

  • Hiya ladies :hello:

My DH just reminded me yesterday that he has 2 weeks holiday starting monday :j:T so that's good because it means as well as coming to my nuchal scan he can also come along to my midwife appointment.

It also means that we can sort out the whole house - it could do with a good tidy up and also i can see what baby bits i have left over from DS and what things i'll need to buy.

Also cannot wait until i have my scan because then i'll be confident enough to announce my pregnancy to all my friends (i've had 2 previous m/c's so i want to wait until i've heard beans heart before i announce my pregnancy publicly).

I just cannot wait for christmas to arrive soon. I really want to decorate the house, make cards (hopefully ), wrap the pressies and crack open the christams choccies. :D Also want to see how it goes with santa taking away DS's dummies - hopefully the excitement of christmas will take his mind off the lack of dummies.
