Hello All!
How are we all today? Well I seem to be on a bit of cleaning spree at the moment, did the bathroom the other day, started the living room yesterday but then my back started hurting so finishing it of later. I have also been recieving some pacels! Got two of my dad and his wife this week full of baby clothes, muslin squares, blankets etc from when their two were babys, so washed them yesterday. Was nice to be able to hang them out in the line in the sunshine. I am waiting for a parcel from my mum today, she bought me some nighties for hospital as just haven't been able to find any, and I haven't been going out much because it just hurts my back to walk. I think there is also some more baby stuff in there as well! And should be getting a parcel from sister in the next couple of days, she has put together some nice bits for me to use while in hospital just for me!

lol we both have office jobs, he gets paid more but still...he is good really, I blame his mother for never getting them to help at home! We have come a long way in the 2 years we've been married, but still need to go further...
My OH is a service engineer, so he basically travels hundreds of miles, does house visits but half the jobs only take 15 minits, so i always wind him up saying he works in an office and his office is a car! He does occasionally cook tea, but he will normally moan how tired he is and then jus heat up somethin out of the freezer whereas I tend to make stuff from scratch as I prefer that. Cant wait until I am on leave and can be a stay at home mum, will be nice as I feel I am never here, unless ill like atm.
This might sound a stupid question, but could someone please explain Reusable Nappies to me?? I was intending on buying disposables, and I am really not good with anything toilet related so I was going to just bag up dirty nappies and put them outside, however OH has decided he wants reusable, he said something about his mum telling him theres a liner that catches all the bad stuff, and you flush this down the loo? Then you wash the rest of it as and when needed. He reckons the re-useable bits stay pretty clean (which I cant c happening).
Also, how much do these cost? And do they come as a kit with lots? Or do you buy it seperate? Sorry I just want to know as I will be the one dealing with most of this!!0 -
I would have told OH that unless he wanted a pile of nappy washing to come home to every day not to push the issue!
Really its up to you as you are the one who will be doing it, and it may become a cause of trouble between you because when your baby gets the runs (and they all do) you might end up resenting him for all the extra work!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Thanks Delain, thats exactly what I told him, his mum came here last week and kept pushing the issue, and I told here 'well I am looking after the baby fulltime for however many months, i am going to be doing most of the changing so i am using disposable' and she still went on at him about using re-useable. I have told him, i will think about it, but i just dont fancy using them!0

Got to admit we've only got a baby bath because it was give free to us, otherwise I was just gonna get a washing up bowl... or the kitchen sink would have done :rotfl:
I've got watches on about 10 bundles of clothes.... I just can't get over how much postage is on some of them... I know it costs a lot to post things these days, but it kinda means the bargains are few and far between.... working out what I could get from car boots/charity shops for the same money etc
Or maybe it's just me
Load of baby wash out on the line and ruddy grey clouds threatening overhead....had to put Gordon to bed LOL he was getting a bit excited about the washing line, and all the washing waving about on it.Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

I begrudge paying over the odds on something that you can only use specifically ie a baby bath, saying that Im watching a couple on eBay but wont pay over the odds, plus theyre pick up onlyAnother thing I dont get are muslin squares or whatever you call them, think Ill stick to good old fashioned bibs
We won a huge bundle off eBay and they had P+P down as £3.50 and it all came in a big box!!! We won about 70 items for just under £34

Hello ladies
Xmaslolly - lots of pink vibes for you - look forward to hearing how you get on.
Bexta - sorry to hear you had to go into hospital, hopefully will all go smoothly for you now.
I finally made it to a parentcraft class this morning! Was about breastfeeding so it was actually really useful and got some information about breastfeeding groups to attend as well. The first few look pretty useful so I'll probably go along to some of them too.
My best friend is getting married tomorrow but it's all gone a bit pear shaped atm. She was at her mum's for most of last night trying to get a lot of last minute things sorted out, and when she got home her DF didnt believe she'd been at her mum's all that time and accused her of having an affair! She's 25 weeks pg and has been poorly all the way through, plus has been ill with a very bad cold so there's no way she'd be doing anything like that. (if she was even capable of it, which she isn't!) Touch and go as to whether it will go ahead atm.....in a lot of ways I hope it doesnt as I hate the thought that she's going to be stuck with him.....but she is desperate to avoid being an unmarried mum...she's rather marry and then divorce (her words!) *sigh*Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
