I'd said that to her at the start of my appt, that I was concerned about my growth, I didnt think I was growing as I should etc.....

I guess you're right though, if he's moved about, might change things....
I think Im worried its because of my eating the past few weeks, Ive not been eating enough, well I dont think I have, and Im worried lil un isnt getting enough food to grow with.... I probably sound like Im being so stupid, and just typical first time mum....

Yep, just a daft first timer.. lol.. even us on number 9 were first timers once.. so you are not allowed to think like that.

The baby IS getting enough.. however.. you might not be.. baby gets nutrients before you do so his needs are being met so you need to make sure yours are too.. baby is stripping calcium from your bone density, he is stealing iron to keep his rapidly increasing needs for new blood up, he is stealing vitamins and minerals to make his cells of his body and fluid for his watery needs... so now you need to make sure you are getting enough!!

Next time you go he may be lying really high against your ribs and you'll measure more.. it is only a rough estimate... if he wasn't growing it is most likely he wouldn't be excessively lively either.. DS was IUGR and he barely moved, he didn't have the energy to be boisterous and grow with what his poor placenta was providing.

*Hugs* CAFC girl, I would definitely give her a call tomorrow to put your mind at ease. If she said your spot on then it sounds as though she may have written the wrong measurement down, but it;s definitely worth making sure.

Mine keep telling me that I'm 'spot on' but I'm behind every time (measured 34 yesterday at 36 + 3) but main thing is that bubs is active and they get a steady heartbeat.

Congrats on all the team pinks! I think that's 3 in the space of one day!!

Xmas lolly - glad you've had a nice day :)

you say that because your's is obviously a nice guy.....

mine hides it really well behind a veil of galaxy wrappers..... LOL

    Oh well eaten it now.....

Tomorrow is hospital bag packing day...
Another question, everything i read says to take a vest and sleepsuit for bringing baby home, surely they dont wear both do they? Gonna be june when Little L is coming home with me, so Im figuring for vaguely decent weather.

What do other people think is a good coming home outfit?

I've got short sleeved bodysuits (vests) and long sleeved sleepsuits packed for mine, plus a little cardie than someone at work knitted to keep him warm while we're going out to the car

    Hi everyone,
Congratulations on Team pink 1more? and Ruki!

Well, had my pre-op today. Wasn't sure what to expect but it was quite straightforward. I suspect it probably varies from hospital to hospital. They ran through the details of my last birth. The nurse took two lots of bloods to send off for tests, and I had to have an MRSA swab from my nose (a bit odd!).
She asked me what sort of pain control I wanted, and recommended a spinal injection and gave me a leaflet about the different types.
Then I went through details for Tuesday - I have to go in at 8am and I'm apparently booked in first, so as long as there aren't any emergency c-sections, I should be going into theatre at about 9am. I'm not allowed to eat from Midnight on Monday, and no water after 7am. I have to take 1 lot of drugs on Monday night and two lots on Tuesday morning at 7am, apparently these are to reduce the acid in my stomach and to prevent nausea. I need to remove any hair from 'down there' with either wax or cream, or I will be shaved by the midwife (deep joy...).
On the plus side, the nurse thought that as long as there are no problems I should be only in for two nights, and so should be able to come home on the Thursday.
I think that was about it - well, about all I can remember anyway!
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)

Hi CAFC, I'd definitely put both on. The general rule is how ever many layers you feel comfortable in + 1 for baby. So if it's warm enough for you to go out in just a t-shirt, baby will need a vest on too.
I'm hoping it's nice and warm in June, today has given me a taste for nice weather!

Mine will likely be July and I am packing a long sleeved vest, sleepsuit, cardy, jacket and a blanket.. Maybe excessive but we may not wear them all.. bear in mind whatever temp it is outside it is at least 90'C warmer in the hospital and a firm breeze will chill sproggit. Better too much and leave something off than too little and baby gets cold!

You're right about weather today though, had all babys bits on the line outside, brilliant sunshine, the dog sunning himself....hoping tomorrow is more of the same!
