Hello new ladies *Waves*
I'm guessing there'll be more to come, with people's 'Christmas Presents' making themselves well known by now.
FQ, that midwife just sounds like utter carp, I hope you don't have to see her again.
Kitkat, I'm not really a McDs person, but I'm sure it will give you the boost you need for college.

CAFC - you prob look a lot better than you think!!! I spend most of my time thinking I look rough - mostly down to being an 8 normally I think - yet people are constantly telling me how much pg suits me ???
I know exactly what you mean! I think I look awful but everyone keeps telling me how well I look!!
mermaid - I'm 34 + 2 and have no stretch marks on tummy yet and a few faint ones on hips. Not happy about the thought of them coming when I'm in labour tho lol
Gillby - not sleeping well at all most nights. I seem to wake up every hour or two, usually need a wee! and then struggle to get back to sleep for a bit. Funnily enough the night before my day off I sleep really well tho so it must be stress and work related!!
Freebiequeenie - sorry your appointment was so badI've had a couple of bad midwife appointments and I found them really upsetting. I think (some of them ) get used to seeing pregnant women so they lose site of how important each appointment is to us.
Feeling tired again tonight but not as bad as last night. I'm at a meeting tomorrow (yay get to sit down all day!!) and then only days left at work! I'm quite impressed with how I'm doing tho, seem to have more energy atm than I did earlier on in pregnancy and am not really struggling with being on my feet all day, just find I get really sleepy from about 3pm!
Hope gymfiend is getting cuddles with her little manMummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -

Thanks Xmas, yeah I have been borrowing his tracksuit jacket type thingy the past couple of weeks just doing the morning school run as the weather has been better but as it was raining today I just chucked on my coat which is a lot warmer and dryer. They meant well but then I just felt a bit sillyGod I have been fine all pg but just starting to take little things a bit too seriously.Over sensitive hormones I spose.
I also had a little heart to heart with DH the other day about how I'm actually really nervous about the birth too and he had no idea cos he thought that after already having done it 3 times I'd be fine - I told him that's exactly why I'm not cos I know what's to come. I'm worried cos I don't know if cos it's been 6 yrs whether it's likely that my body will have forgotten and it'll be a long labour and I have such a low pain threshold BUT then again DD2 was born within an hour and I almost went into shock cos it was soooo fast that afterwards It suddenly hit me and I can't really remember what had happened. So I am worried about it being too quick too...... LOL I can't win can I ???:rotfl:Busy mummy of 4.:j0 -
Hi Som:j
FQ that's really carp. I really hate it when appt's go like that I mean we get so little pg care anyway that we look forward to all the updates etc on bubs and what is to come and sometimes it is so disappointing cos they just can't be bothered!!!
Thanks KitKat, yes, I remember getting like this at the end with the others RE clothes and just getting fed up of wearing the same things all the time I will think positively- as you say it's only 5 weeks and i'll have my bubs:j.......................................................and all my old 'normal' clothes:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Busy mummy of 4.:j0 -
freebiequennie wrote: »Hello All
Had a midwife appointment today only my second one am 16+5 and was a different midwife I arrived at 9.05am for a 9.15am app midwife not in yet and the 9am not yet turned up, well 9am lady turns up few mins late then the midwife at 9.15am farts around going up and down stairs, answering her mobile etc etc then calls in the 9am app at 9.30am!! I get seen at 10am (by this time long queue for her) and she doesnt apologise then cant find gloves to to blood test - explained have naff veins she has a go completly blind and no success trys again and still no sucess so says have to go to hospital to have done - we agreed i could do next thurs at 18wks when I am at hospital anyway to save an extra trip
she does my blood pressure and checks urine.
I ask 4 times for referral to physio before she completes the form.
1/2 my blood results arent back so she says i will book she in for 2wks time - no appointments available so says I will have to ring - I said wont bother as if any issues sure someone will alert me. so got next appointment at 25wks pregnant she said 9.15am ok (she couldnt work out how to put me in for 3.15pm as no-one in slots above!!) and I said is that 9.15am or 10am like today and she said oh normal midwife will be back so she usually runs on time!!
Was a really rubbish appointment and waste of my time really - I couldnt beleive this woman was allowed to deliver babies and have such responsiblity it was embarassing.
That is a normal appointment!!!!
Last one I saw didn't know what the blood forms meant and I had to tell her what it was saying and explain what to write on the forms for sending off the new bloods.. then she wondered why I refused to have another appointment!!
I wouldn't let 99% of the midwives I've ever seen deliver kittens let alone human babies!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I have been lucky this time aroud with MW ,she is lovely and even called me one evening from home to check I was ok when I had my high risk for Downs result ,think it does make a lot of difference to know that they do actually give a toss about you and you aint just a number x0

My midwife appts are all soooo boring. Sit down, am I feeling movement, bp, wee, blood(if required), goodbye see you soon.
I don't know why I bother going to be honest?
Piggers - I was thinking about you the other day. I was wondering how you are feeling about giving birth again? I was also wondering if you have delivered in hospital each time or have you had any home-births?
I probably sound like a stalker:p.....but it's just that I was thinking about how I am feeling about the whole thing and why it is that I seem to get more worried/scared about giving birth the more children I have had. Everyone keeps telling me how used to it I should be, or how easy I must find it to go on to have a fourth baby(esp so soon after ds3) but I was so oblivious with ds1 yet with each subsequent pregnancy I have become more scared/apprehensive about the whole thing. Maybe it's because I know the piain to come, maybe it's because I think that I can't be lucky again and there are bound to be complications this time!
Sorry that turned into a long one then:pUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
Redmel, all my appointments have been like that too. I guess it's a good thing though cos it means all's going to plan. If there was something up, we'd be getting a lot more attention.
Choccy, I'm not sure I want to go back to my 'normal' clothes. I'm normally to be found in some kind of scruffy band t-shirt, jeans and walking boots or sneakers. I know I will really though, cos I hate shopping, and I'm definately no 'yummy mummy' in waitingThere will be no prancing about in designer frocks with baby dressed in matching cashmere for me I'm afraid.
