Mermaid85 - I've never heard of hand expressing?! Might look it up. Have any of you who've already had babies had any luck with a manual pump - I've heard a few people say they aren't very effective?

Maureen - you're plan sounds like a great idea - feed one one breast and pump on he other!:T

Rach - yay - the scan sounds lovely! I'm really getting impatient to see my baby again now - wish I had a little window in my tummy!!!

gill_81UK - me too. I have 3.5 days left, and am getting to the stage where I'm knackered by lunchtime. How are you sleeping?

Oh, if the reverse is true too that's good - my little one never seems to stop wriggling, so here's hoping your theory is right and he'll be lovely and relaxed when he arrives.

Poor Smartie - I hope your smelly toe gets better soon. My feet seem to smell bad no matter what I do (no idea why I'm telling you all this:o!!), and I don't even have an infection to blame! Am going to try reflexology to turn by stubbornly breech baby, and am terrified about getting my feet out!

BudgetBlonde - speaking of reflexology, it's supposed to be really good for restless legs in pregnancy…

    Hope everyone's having a good day x

Gillby - You basically massage the breast, (not the nipple though!!) rather than using a pump to suck it out lol Hard to explain but mw/hv should be able to show you - kind of pushing it from the outside in towards the nipple, bit like milking a cow I expect :)

I just found it easier that way as I found the pump pulled too much nipple in and really hurt.

Gillby - re getting feet out for reflexology. An ex colleague of mine and I had a few sessions done, and she had really smelly feet-bless her, but the reflexologist actually showed her the foot map, and how blockages in an area could be causing the smell, after a few sessions her feet didnt smell, and we just shoved a lot of bicarb in all her shoes to de-funk them...
She still sees her about once every 6 weeks and her feet are now fine....

quick tip - before the smell did go though she wore flip flops to her appts, and they do wash your feet down a bit as well before they start...HTH

Got a tall glass of thick banana milkshake and a packet of cadburys fingers. Got tutted at by an old guy in sainsburys local (really small aisles) and when i turned round he saw bump, looked all sheepish and asked if i needed a hand with my basket (had one hand on bump at the time choosing biscuits) LOL

No HIPG money yet though.... darn it.....

Gillby, I have used a manual pump before and found it fine although I found doing it by hand easier until your milk supply is properly established IYKWIM.

My 'friends' up at the school when collecting DD just now had a good laugh at how my coat was bursting at the seams today :( I know bump has suddenly really expanded this last week and cos the weather had been better until today I hadn't worn it for a couple of weeks but they actually thought it was hilarious. Now I'm hoping weather is good tomorrow so I don't have to wear my stupid bursting coat :( only got 5 weeks left so I refuse to go and buy a bigger one!!!

Lauz have added you a little blue symbol. :D

Got college tonight I really don't feel upto going :( had dentist early this morning, then straight to work and now college I feel too tired! But a part of me wants to get this course over and done with, as within a few months I know I will totally loose interest, maybe if I grab a Mcdonalds on the way it'll give me the motivation to carry on... !:p

Thats a great idea, I sometimes borrow OH's clothes now but they are massive on me (even tho my OH really isnt big at all) but I find his stuff nice and comfy :) planning on wearing his stuff as I get bigger and BIGGER :rotfl:

I wouldn't blame you for not buying a new coat, neither would i! Can't believe you so called friends laughing at you though Choccy, don't they know how self concious pregnant women feel anyway?! Just think in 5 weeks time you will be holding a beautiful baby :)

    Hello All

Had a midwife appointment today only my second one am 16+5 and was a different midwife I arrived at 9.05am for a 9.15am app midwife not in yet and the 9am not yet turned up, well 9am lady turns up few mins late then the midwife at 9.15am farts around going up and down stairs, answering her mobile etc etc then calls in the 9am app at 9.30am!! I get seen at 10am (by this time long queue for her) and she doesnt apologise then cant find gloves to to blood test - explained have naff veins she has a go completly blind and no success trys again and still no sucess so says have to go to hospital to have done - we agreed i could do next thurs at 18wks when I am at hospital anyway to save an extra trip

she does my blood pressure and checks urine.

I ask 4 times for referral to physio before she completes the form.

1/2 my blood results arent back so she says i will book she in for 2wks time - no appointments available so says I will have to ring - I said wont bother as if any issues sure someone will alert me. so got next appointment at 25wks pregnant she said 9.15am ok (she couldnt work out how to put me in for 3.15pm as no-one in slots above!!) and I said is that 9.15am or 10am like today and she said oh normal midwife will be back so she usually runs on time!!

Was a really rubbish appointment and waste of my time really - I couldnt beleive this woman was allowed to deliver babies and have such responsiblity it was embarassing.
