For those talking about the doppler, I have the summer one. I lend it to a pregnant friend when she was 24 + weeks and she spent a few days trying and couldn't get anything - she's just had a bouncing baby girl so I guess it all depends on how the baby is lying, the placenta etc so I wouldn't let it worry you.
For all those worrying about kicks, in this pregnancy and my last I found baby much more active in the bath ( and gives you a chance to relax )
Hope everyones has a good day.
I'm really hating work atm, find I'm still tired, making mistakes which I blame on baby brain, very very constipated and having cramps also have started to wear a bump band as I feel strain on the lower half of my tummy, I have quite a big bump for 18 weeks ( could be the constipation ). Still being/feeling sick daily. I have knee pain due to a previously undiagnosed problem with my gaite, been for analysis but theres nothing they can do while I'm pregnant. I feel like a real moan bag, I'm counting the days until I get of on maternity leave at the start of June - seems like so far away, although I have to say this pregnancy has flown so far and the nicer weather is perking me up a bit. Sorry for the moan
Hugs to those who need themBusy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:0 -
Morning all
I'm back to work today after a week and a day's holiday. Hate going back after a break, though my job is ok. I am probably going to tell my boss i'm pg today, I have just had my contract extended so hope he won't be mad as I was pushing to have it in writing (who wouldn't!?). I need to go and talk to someone in HR first as I don't quite understand how the enhanced mat scheme works (you have to commit to coming back for 3 months) if your contract runs out during that time. Otherwise I'd only have 7 months which bearing in mind I commute 90 mins each way is not enough I don't think.
In terms of buying stuff, I'm the same as Lola and others - I don't intend on spending a fortune. So far we've been offered a cot bed so will only need a mattress, I have bought mat trousers off ebay (6 pairs for £10 incl postage!) and have dibs on a bouncy chair for £5 from netmums.I am happy to have most things second hand, and apparently the Asda baby events are great for some of the stuff you'd want new. I've put together a spreadsheet so I can keep track of it all!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Lav congratulations and welcome :-)
Jopsey sorry you arent sleeping chick i know how you feel but mine is due to bubs teething i feel like a zombie at the moment.
Little sis take it easy chick and if it gets too much get your midwife to sign you off for a little while. Its easy to worry and work your self stupid because you dont want to let them down but in reality they very rarely appreciate it so look after yourself and bump. :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
LilSis, I second what Xmas says about work. You're growing an entire person, and that's way more important than any kind of job.
I sooo don't wanna have my GTT today. It's just the build up (and no food) I can't stand. My stupid boss totally ignored that I asked for some time off today, but my colleagues know I'm in when I'm in, she'll just have to do some work instead of going on Facebook!

Hello *waves nervously* Can I join in?
I have been on the under 12 weeks thread and thought it was time I graduated, I'm 13+3.
I am really excited but totally out of my depth! I usually like to know exactly what I'm doing and have my plans and lists but as this is my first it's all unknown territory. Have been doing lots of reading but am getting conflicting advice so am coming to the conclusion that most people seem to wing it :rotfl:
So .. hello! Hope everyone is well today and if anyone could give me a few pointers on what I should be sorting out when I would be very grateful! Have had 12 week scan and waiting to see mw at 16 weeks.Bellymonkey due 25/09/10 :j0 -
Morning ladies!!!!
Just a quick question before I catch up properly, has anyone ordered anything off BambinoDirect.co.uk or Baby Planet????
Weve seen a nursery furniture bundle we like and want to order soon and just wondered if anyone has had any dealings with either....thanksOpinions are like ar*eholes - everybody has one!!!!0 -
Re dopplers. I had the angelsounds one. Bought it at 8wks, tried every week and got nothing until i was 18wks. At 16wks i had a massive panic & was on the phone to my mum crying as i couldnt find the heartbeat.
When she started kicking i stopped using it so much, then it broke lol.
SIL had the summer one and said it was rubbish.0 -
Congrats Lav, I will add you to list- do you want me to add a girly sign or would you prefer it if I leave it off?
Jopsey, snap on the pg insomnia- it's only started this last week and it's not making me tired out too much atm just hoping it helps when bubs comes along as I was worrying 6 yrs of nice sleep (since last bubs was born) was going to make it a shock to the system.
Yes we are FB friends- I am SK
Congrats Budgetblonde, what's your due date-I can add you to the list?
Hope everyone has a great day- hoping we get news on Gym today :jBusy mummy of 4.:j0 -
