kindof - it must be really annoying now! You have any plans for the day, maybe help take your mind of the obvious?

Have kinda given up hope of going au naturel here and just biding my time till tomorrow afternoon, dont think I can stand the suspense if they tell me theres no bed tomorrow! Am so nervous now tho and keep biting OH head of and cant explain to him why. Debating re writing my birth plan in a wee bit more detail, also thinking I need to go thru my bag again cos its highly likely I'll be there at least 2 nights now.

Anyone who's been induced bfore got any useful insight or tips?

Supposed to be going to MILs tomorrow to do the Mothers day thing, both OHs bros and wifes will be there and I told OH I wantd to avoid them! then we had a big argument cos he says but thy want to see you before you go in. I said I dont want all the fuss (cos of nervs) and he called m sellfish :( I dont think he gets it, am so worrid he wont stand up to them about visiting now.

  • I was induced Som, and the best tip I can give you is wear comfy clothes when you go in as you may be wearing them a while. Comfy shoes are important too as they make you walk, a lot, after they've given you the pessary/gel. Also take lots of things to do that you can dip in and out of- magazines, puzzles etc as I was bored but couldn't do anything that required much concentration. Also make sure you have lots of little snacks and cartons of drink.

I had a failed induction, so ended up on the oxytocin drip with an epidural. If you get to that point, I recommend an epidural as it does get pretty intense, pretty quick. Having said that a mummy I know was induced on the same day as me and had a water birth and baby was born within about 6 hours of her having the first pessary so induction doesn't necessarily mean a lot of intervention!

Thanks gisi :D Have a book and two mags packed atm as well as my ipod, DS lite and a soduku book. Still hoping for a water birth but will have to see how it goes, but will keep epi in mind! Comfy clothes already to go, shoes will hav to be ugg type things cos its way to hard to get trainers on and off atm and feet keep swelling! Might get some more drinks tho, atm have 3 small cartons and a bottle of water, what snacks would you recommnd I have flap jack, ceral bars and some sweets packed for now.

som i had a natural birth with dd and was induced with drip on ds, the main difference is contractions get strong quicker, this is what i found, with dd i had a few contractions 10ish then waters went and contractions got stronger as time went on with ds it was strong pains within an hr of drip being put in but my labour was only 6hrs from start to finish,
i would be happy to be induced again its not that bad and at least you know bubs will be here monday or tuesday
hope ive not scared you but think its best to be honest good luck and try not to worry
my best advice is to get a good night sleep in if you can xxx

Awww chick you arent selfish I wouldnt want to see them either, and just because they want to see you before you go doesnt mean you have to, why should they get thier way!

I am getting sick now lol, we've been to asda and it was hell I was having contractions all the way around my back is killing me so I am going to go in bath and see if that soothes it

I so hope tihs is it sometimes!

We were getting contractions between 4-8 mins and were lasting 1 min - 2 sometimes more, I dont know wheter to see how I go and if thye are the same or worse at tea time ring the hosp see what they suggest?

Weve just got some pots of rice pudding, and cusyard and jelly from asda 3 for a £1 and some of their bags of snack pack apples and melon etc for the hosp, and I am taking lucozade as well
