When was it you were there? I had mine there years ago.. '96 and '99..

Last week! Will have another look round. Jimmy's holds lots of unpleasant memories (lost 2 pregnancies there - not their fault I hasten to add) and LGI is much easier to get to from where we live, can walk it in about 30mins so easier for hubby. Seriously considering homebirth though and my mw seemed very supportive too, I'm low risk with #2

    I'm never low risk PMSL!!

LGI is 1hour30 from me.. but it is 1000 times better than the abertoire here so worth the journey.. OH's family are in Manchester which is why I asked about St Mary's which is about 2 hours from here.. I need to go visit both TBH to get a decent idea of them but it is so hard finding time with the children!

    Sorry lol, they did lol

I want someone to have a baby lol LMF or Nikkit??

I agree, come on babies, get a move on! Head for the light!

I repacked my labour bag earlier. Most of the baby stuff is in the side pocket so i have more room in the main section for my stuff lol.
I aim to be out on the 6 hour discharge so i wont need to take much into hospital for the baby :)

Do you know you get a shower after the baby is born? Would it be weird if i took my razor and shaved my legs? I hate the feeling of stubble so it would make me more comfy :)

aww my mum and I used to watch the documentary about that hospital! Lasting memory of it though was someone having surgery somewhere in their head and they essentially cut around their face and peeled half of it off - bit traumatised after watching!

Courgette (& SJ, sorry to answer on your behalf!) sorry to butt in, but SJ had Alfie @ Jimmys. I was due to go there but wasn't too keen in the end though have been told by a couple of people that it's the better of the two now. Though equally my neighbour is a nurse & was one of the deciding factors in my picking the LGI, she said the home from home suites are brilliant :)

Som thanks for the info on baby engaging being different with SPD, makes me feel a bit better!

EA I think they do the measuring differently in different places, my MW wrote 4/5 palpable, 1/5 engaged today, whereas yours seems to do it the other way around?

Just had a lovely bath with a lush bath bomb, OH has taken pity on me hobbling around the house and is making tea too as I type :)
    Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j

I *think* St Marys is Armley/Wortley way, but fairly sure they don't do births anymore? eta: Courgette another option might be the birthing centre in Huddersfield? I've heard brilliant things about it.

eta again (lots to say, keep forgetting!): Courgette & Pigpen, I'm booked into the LGI so all being well I should be able to give you my thoughts on the place in the next few weeks if that helps at all :) The head baby doctor (can't remember the official term!) is a family friend and I can honestly say that he is the best doctor I've ever come across, as well as a wonderful man, so should there be any complications Pigpen, I would imagine he'd be there with you if you delivered early), I would highly reccomend the LGI for him alone.

eta: Brilliant news, congrats twinkle & welcome to baby Charlotte :D Sounds like you had a brilliant labour too!
