Thanks Gymfiend, it'd be much appreciated if you could report back. As I said, staff seemed absolutely lovely, the place just seemed really dirty (and this is coming from someone who is very far from houseproud!)

Congratulations on your daughter Twinkles :j

twinkles - big congrats hun and welcome to Charlotte (looking forward to pics :D), nice quick birth and a healthy size too x

courgette - sorry no idea where st Marys is apart from being born there have never been back. Lil bro was was always in hospital at jimmys or LGI after that. Havent lived in Leed since I was 8! And most of the immediate family have moved away too, so only go occasionaly to visit aunt & uncle and cousin.

Esio - I remember Jimmys the TV prog hehe, tho not that ep!!

gym - Armley would make sense as we lived in Bramley, tho that was 33 years ago now! the lack of Mat unit , thats prob why bro was born at Jimmys tho he is only 2 years younger than me.

EA - I know you can shower at our hospital as long as your physically up to it, and I think thats gonna be the major issue!

I *think* St Marys is Armley/Wortley way, but fairly sure they don't do births anymore? eta: Courgette another option might be the birthing centre in Huddersfield? I've heard brilliant things about it.

eta again (lots to say, keep forgetting!): Courgette & Pigpen, I'm booked into the LGI so all being well I should be able to give you my thoughts on the place in the next few weeks if that helps at all :) The head baby doctor (can't remember the official term!) is a family friend and I can honestly say that he is the best doctor I've ever come across, as well as a wonderful man, so should there be any complications Pigpen, I would imagine he'd be there with you if you delivered early), I would highly reccomend the LGI for him alone.

eta: Brilliant news, congrats twinkle & welcome to baby Charlotte :D Sounds like you had a brilliant labour too!

When I had the boys they were both under professor Levine.. Levene.. .. Somebody-or-other.. long time I forget.. is that the one? He was amazing.. rather large (compared to me) guy who was absolutely lovely.. DS2 had 2 cardiac arrests and he patted me on the head.. inmy wheelchair lol.. and said DS would be just fabulous now they have him stable and 'should' have no lasting effects.. he has but nothign I can't handle.. but he was so reassuring and lovely.

Do you know you get a shower after the baby is born? Would it be weird if i took my razor and shaved my legs? I hate the feeling of stubble so it would make me more comfy :)

You really really REALLY won't care!!!! Plus it might be difficult bending over to do them.
