Yeah, just run out of things to say.. Rhys was asleep on me for a while, then we played about watching him on the webcam :) OH has just gone to bed so I'm browsing the Grabbit board (what did you miss, SM?) while I wait for Rhys to want his bottle then we're off to bed :)

    Night night MM xx

I'm off to sort Rhys' bottle - gotta wait for a big tablet to dissolve and he's rubbing his eyes again so don't know if he'll still be awake when it's done!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Forgot to share our good news from yesterday - Archie asked for the potty an did a wee, wee. I raved and enthused like a good un but hes not done it again :o(. Hes a funny one no. 2 son and seems to much prefer doing things in his own good time. Every time I suggest the potty he gets quite defensive but then he goes and does it off his own back - v. confused lol.

Considering what was going on on the other side of the room while they were stitching me up, it's a bl00dy good job I wasn't awake! :o That's what scares me..

It's nothing to be proud of, but out of curiousity, am I the only one here to have had a GA for a c-section?

I had an emergency cs with ds1 - I was induced and never actaully went into labour but then the heart monitor showed signs of feotal distress and he was out a few hours later - I'd eaten too but they gave me a drug to counteract the effects.

With DS2 I was determined to have a home birth and ended up with a semi planned cs again (a six hr wait after my last meal stopped immediate surgery) and it was still pretty stessful but defiantely easier after. I didn't get to hold ds2 though as the spinal worked too well on me and I was numb from the chest down and didn't feel safe holding him straight away. Plus the DRs gave him straight to Oh and he fell in love!!

You remember what I was like when pregnant with Amber? I did not want a c section at all. But when it got to that point, I did what was best for the both of us. It wasn't as bad as I imagined.

No, I had a GA for Christopher, then didn't wake up for 3 days afterwards. I'm also glad I missed what else went on in that room, and in the days afterwards. Feel sorry for Dh though, he saw it.

They took the risk with me and put me under even though I had eaten half an hour before my abruption.

That must have been terrible (and scary) for you- I know I missed out a bit on bonding with ds1 as I was really sick after the GA for my first cs. I'm surprised they let your OH be there though - my ex had to wait outside during my emergency cs.

On the question of suppositories I have to say I just don't know - I know I had a catheter (sp?) but dont remember it coming out either time and I'm fairly sure they could have done this to me too and I wouldn't remember it now as its all pretty much a blur. I had paracetemol, codine and diclofenac when on the wards the second time though (solphdine for ds1 -which I think is codine too?) and it did the job really. Apparantly (I asked a midwife) they have done studies that say paracetemaol and anti infamitories do the job as well as conventional "strong" pain killers so they now give these and less of the codine etc.
