We have accepted that while it may be possible to provide generic "toddler proofing" to our flat, it will never achieve "Elijah-proof" status :( and instead we watch him/chase him/teach him/lure him as much as possible, and accept all failures along the way!

And Sami re January, don't go into it thinking of it as a holiday, think of it as "a test of your strength, level-headedness and gritty determination to be endured" and you will be ok! :p
:rotfl: I'll go into that 'holiday' like a SAS soldier going on hard routine ;) the best bit is we're in a challet and Chris is sharing with his 19yo uncle - should be fun!

oh and the proofing never ends, family friend's 16yo son was taken to A&E last week after eating an entire pot noodle made from a kettle filled with descaling fluid :rotfl:

What I dread is a c-section awake next time.. _pale_ I wonder on what basis I could get the wake-me-up-when-it's-all-over option again..

I didnt mind being awake for mine, especially the nice 1½ hours wait while they looked for lost needle... had good chat with nurses!!!

I had an epidural before my emergency section - felt nothing but a bit of weird rummaging in my insides - but they were in and she was crying before I realised they'd started.
Me too JM - a bit of a shock!

I had epidural as well. Tried to go the natural route even in theatre and then I reckon it was about a minute after that and Henry was born.

I don't remember any suppository pain killers after mine - but it was a long time ago! I had a morphine watch for a few days - it was great!
I also remember them coming to remove the catheter (sp?) the day after the birth - i hadn't even realised I had one in!

I dont remember suppository pain killers either but did have catheter...

  • (((HUGS))) em - Benjamin rarely goes to sleep on me but does for everyone else! He would let a stranger in the street cuddle him to sleep before he let me

I guess when you go to pick him up now you wake him up and take him off the CM straight away...and they always smile at the first person they see when they wake.

At least Seth seems settled there. xxx

OH is home and had a good first day. :D

    Cobs :D

Milestones - Benjamin reached some really early, mostly the dangerous moving ones , but others he seems to be behind on - anything requiring an element of concentration or sitting still for more than 5 seconds. He has only within the last week or so started to sit and play with any of his toys. All babies are incredibly different, as ably demonstrated by our little angels on a regular basis!!

DS1 was exactly like this....no concentration at all, tbh he is still very much the physical child, although thankfully gifted to be very intelligent too, if you can get him to sit still long enough to prove it:rolleyes:

DS2 the opposite, very slow physically (still is) but loved to sit for ages playing with toys and is now very artsy and loves drawing/colouring/writing stories

DS3 complete mixture, seems to be an average all rounder (so far)
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

Thanks hun but it's the 4th time now so I have everything for me already :D

I found when working I would always wake Chris at a set time if he wasn't already up. if he was grumpy it only lasted a few mins

i know its a good thing really MFD, its always going to be more fun there anyway, its like when kids go to stay with their dads/grandparents at the weekends and like it better there cos their mum isnt getting them up for school and making them do their homework etc, she has about a million and seven toys and he loves playing with the other children too, and she gives him her full attention rather than doing things like cleaning, getting the dinner and the washing on like i do...

i did say to her that i would rather she put him in his coat and put him to sleep in the buggy if he's having a late nap in future :o i dont think i would have minded so much if he was in the travel cot! i am blatantly jealous of her getting cuddles from my little man that doesnt tolerate cuddles from me for any longer than a few seconds!

eta MM :rotfl: its probably the other way round, all he does here at home is sleep!!
