What I dread is a c-section awake next time.. _pale_ I wonder on what basis I could get the wake-me-up-when-it's-all-over option again..
Ya know, I always said "wake-me-up-when-it's-all-over".. I didn't actually mean it! :rolleyes:0 -
I got a suppository after my stitches with Aimee but nothing after Caitlyn... They also only checked them the day after Caitlyn was born and more after Aimee... But then I only had a graze with Caitlyn and they practically had to sew me back together after Aimee...

I didn't get any suppositories after my section - all I got were paracetamol (painkiller) and sodium diclofenac (anti-inflamm). They gave me codeine once but it made me feel funny. Towards the end of my 2-week stay, I was turning down all painkillers as I felt better; all I took then were antibios against the infection in my non-healing c/s wound.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Whoever asked about stitches being checked, my were only checked once by the MW on day three because I was very sore so she wanted to make sure they weren't infected (which they weren't).I think suppositories are just much more common in Germany and so people don't object to them. I know Husband was offered them as pain relief - he opted for IM injections instead :rotfl:got-it-spend-it wrote: »I had suppository pain killers straight after my section....is that not the norm in the UK?Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

I think the actual birth bit is horrible what ever way you do it but the 'normal' way means you see and hold bubba sooner which is the best bit about it
god someone make this child stop crying and squirming! he's like a fish fresh outta water!0 -
BBoo - My stitches were checked everyday in hosp and the first few once home after my 1st but my 2nd they only checked once after asking me if I wanted them checking
Thanks, just wondered as no-ones looked at me since the birth. Their coming back on sunday for my last visit so I'll see what happens then.
Isla's stirring, best get ready to feed her. It'll probably be a week before I manage to get back on again! Take care all x xBelly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0 -

Considering what was going on on the other side of the room while they were stitching me up, it's a bl00dy good job I wasn't awake! :cool:That's what scares me..
It's nothing to be proud of, but out of curiousity, am I the only one here to have had a GA for a c-section?0 -

I'm not very good with the proper words, but my sister was awake during her last c-section. But the first was an emergency so wasn't awake then i don't think. I'm not very clued up on c-sections! Could someone explain a bit for me?
I wish when they stitched me up downstairs i wasn't awake lol.... blooming hurt more then the birth itself!!
