SS who cares if there is stuff to do? if the house is a bit messy, it doesnt matter, nobody is going to be judging you for that at the moment given the situation. if its really bothering you, do what i do when people are coming and just do a few quick wipes over with baby wipes, it'll look and smell nicer ;)

Don't know whether to type this or not but...

DH wants me to go to the doctors as he is worried I am becoming depressed! I am feeling very down, but given our situation (which is all my fault) it is hardly surprising is it?

He is back at the doctors today himself as he was put on sleeping tablets for a week, today is to assess if they have helped him at all. Now, I don't think they worked as he was still up and down all night and has gone back to bed at the moment because he is tired!!!
They are discussing whether to change his medication as he is suffering severe attacks of anxiety(and not sleeping), although the ocd is still under contol with these tablets.

We keep arguing and I am saying that he only wants me to be classed as depressed so he can blame me for making him worse iykwim.....My head is all fuzzy and I can't think straight lately but I don't think I need medication, and wouldn't take them anyway.

    Mel x

morning. I love to read and try to read every night (depending on how shattered I am!) I like most things, except sci-fi/fantasy. My most hated read was the Lord of the rings trilogy. I read it when I was about 15-16 and I persevered through all three books and at the end announced that they were a bit rubbish :rotfl: Just not my cup of tea.
I think LOTR is one of those things you need a good chunk of time to read it because if you read it slowly it's harder to follow. I read it in a week becauseI did it in the holidays when I was a student so I read all day for seven days.

I love a good political biography (okay don't run away on me) but enjoy chick-lit and spy thrillers too :D
Have you read Long Walk to Freedom? (Nelson Mandela's autobiography.) If you like historical (as opposed to recent stuff), I'd recommend "Mary Queen of Scots and the Murder of Lord Darnley" by Alison Weir. Strictly speaking it isn't a biography but it covers such a large portion of her life as background to it that it more or less is.
Does anybody ever wonder when they will get a chance to relax? I feel like I am on a treadmill of neverending chores and things to organise/do. Even if I relax for an evening I know in the back of my mind that I still have tons of stuff to do later that I should be doing now :(
I don't but my husband sometimes says that's what he feels like. I enjoy nearly all of the stuff I have to do though so I don't find it a chore.

I just use cheap flannels from ikea. They hang on hooks on rubber suckers in the bathroom.

All the time. I have daily lists, medium term lists and long term lists. Whenever I get to the end of one list I find more stuff that needs to be done.

The baby's dressed now and feeding, once she's done we'll play then she'll sleep and I'll organise nappies and clean laundry and hopefully get something to eat.

  • I got this set of wipes to test from BB. I kind of wanted some but didn't know if I could justify the outlay... But now I've got them I think they're great! You could just use flannels (like Susan does) but I really like the bags that come with it.... And the wipes are about 1/3 the size of a flannel and just the right size :)

Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

ah! Liquid poo, I get it now :)

I forget not all babies have Fergus' impacting issues :)

No probs sami, glad it was ok. My fairies have grown lots of sage and rosemary if you'd like some?
Thanks for the offer but MIL supplies us with rosemary and I don't like sage :o:)
I think I'll pop dried parsley on my shopping list and make the pie more often!
in case you or anyone else is interested I used 2 basa fillets, 2 small salmon fillets and some prawns and 3 small carrots grated, I put what garlic n herb philly I had left (about 1 heaped tsp) in the bechermel (sp?) sauce and topped with potato & sweet pot mash (found the sweetpot when I got the normal pots).

It took me longer than planned, mostly because I had to make 2 sauces because the first batch wasn't big enough  and I had 2 small children 'helping', pestering and crying through out :p

Ps. I've ordered my dress from babes with babies and found a 10% voucher Here if anyone is interested

  • Hi all,

Can I join please? Isla Mae was born Thursday 19th Nov at 4.34am, we had to stay in overnight due to meconium in the waters but since coming home she's doing great and OH and myself are besotted and completely in love with her.

Ive lurked a bit the past few days but havent had chance to post until now, I recognise a few names from the preg thread. Just waiting for the HV to call and do her heel !!!!! test.

We're breast feeding and so far going ok. A few latching issues as I have hugely inverted nipples:o so may be crying out for help and advice soon.

Oh, and this is my princess IslaMae.jpg
