Alice is "reading" a book. She must think it's a long one as she just turned a page and said, "Chapter eight."
Just to point out that not all nurseries are like the ones you worked in Susan !! The one Jasmine went to was fantastic and I know quite a lot of the staff there and they are all really happy there too
I know that there will be a variation in quality and some of the things I didn't like were specific to those particular nurseries but some were things which are inevitable features of nurseries in general. I appreciate that others have different views about nurseries though and don't expect other people to agree with my views.

did you know there is a link between pg ladies having flu and the baby having schitzophenia?
Someone mentioned the vaccination and scizophrenia, but I can't find any credible info about it, can anyone point me in the right direction?

This particular study is purely correlative and doesn't show any direct causal link between flu in pregnancy and schizophrenia in adult children. It's also worth noting that current research suggests there's a strong genetic component to SZ, but the genes may need to be kick-started by some external stimulus in order for the disorder to develop.

I do a bit of work in this area and would say that if you've no family history of SZ not to worry, likewise if you're out of the first trimester :)

    :o:)

I have yet another baby/child related concern now :( Edgar's hip has started to click!! Does anyone know if I'm right thinking a HV would be able to refer him to the hospital? it's clinic tomorrow so I could just take him there instead of phoning for a GP app and having to wait a week to see GP.
Most annoyed as Chris got a hip scan at 6weeks 'just in case' due to our family history (peadiatrician at hosp referred him after seeing him before discharge after birth) but Edgar's newborn check was done by a special MW because he was born at home and she wouldn't give us a referral after she spoke to 'someone':mad:

  • I would assume so sami, it was my HV who just told the GP to send off the referral for the x-ray, I didnt have to speak to the GP at all

Must be the day for illnesses etc - every now and again one of Henry's ears goes really red and warm and swells up a little bit. It doesnt bother him at all and causes no pain to him. And then all of a sudden it will go back to normal... there is no consistancy as to what he is doing at the time ie running around , sleeping, doing painting at nursery....very strange

  • Sami, did you say you ordered Thorntons?

Mine arrived on Sat and one of the gifts I ordered is all squashed. Just emailed them now as I can't give it as a gift as it looks bargain basement .

Luckily the big free hamper that we're keeping arrived intact! :rotfl:

  • Maz, does Henry understand he's getting a brother soon?

I often wonder what went through Poppy's mind when we brought Jamie home!

ETA: and can you share your name shortlist?! (please x).

    xx
