Someone mentioned the vaccination and scizophrenia, but I can't find any credible info about it, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Only trouble with them is they want £3 P&P... not sure I can get to a toy shop and dont want to miss out.
usborne have srict rules so I don't think they allow people to sell on ebay etc, you could try looking on the site to see if it can put you in touch with a local seller or have a peak on the up your income board, there is a thread dedicated to selling usborne books, I'm sure one of the posters would sell you some ;)

I got mine at a church fayre when on holiday and the seller has put a sticker with their email address on it if you want that?

Feelie this is what was said

But the same study also says:

The findings reinforce recommendations that women of childbearing age be
vaccinated against influenza, Brown continued. However, because the
mechanism underlying the schizophrenia connection is unknown, "we may not
want to give the vaccine during pregnancy," he said. Until more is known,
"it's possible that vaccination (during pregnancy) could have a harmful
    effect."

"The safest approach to pregnancy (with regard to avoiding schizophrenia)
seems to be to become pregnant only after taking a vaccination shot. "

    One study
found a seven-fold increase in schizophrenia for babies whose mothers had
flu in earlypregnancy, which scares me witless. See

    thanks sami :)

Was initially feeling  but now realise by reading more of the research it cites that this is exposure to vaccine or flu before half way through PG. Thankfully I was a week over half way. Maz is the same. Mel, looks like you are wise to be waiting :)

oh and I think I've decided about the pig flu jab :undecided
I'll get Edgar jabbed because if he did catch it I wouldn't have a chance of getting him to take medicine to bring the temp down but Chris I'm not because he will take meds easily. What do you think? or do you think if Ed has it Chris should too?
We decided not to get Alice vaccinated because we don't really think it's particularly more risky than normal flu. Our opinion is that they are offering it to children now because all the media hype has made parents worried and there would be uproar if they didn't. It's one of those things where everyone just has to make their own decision.

Well, guess what.. I was early for the hospital appointment! :D:p

Eye lady (whatever the job title is for someone who works in the Orthoptics Dept!) said Rhys was ever-so-good with the test today. I couldn't see what he was doing cos he was sat on my knee, facing her. She wants him to see the consultant again (the one who used to check his eyes in SCBU) to look into his eyes and check the muscles and for long-sightedness. She's not hugely concerned, just wants to look deeper next time. She said the cross-eyed thing is okay cos he's doing it with both eyes, but she wants him checked in case there is a reason he moves his head to look round at something without looking all the way with his eyes, iyswim. Am not fretting about it, the drops to widen his pupils aren't nice, but I'm happy he'd being checked up on :) There's nothing we can/need to do before the next appointment, except she gave me some eye patches so he can practise wearing them and it's not such a surprise when he's next tested.

Re: swine flu.. doesn't it work the same as the other flu jab and doesn't prevent catching it, just lessens the symptoms? Rhys' is in January so time to think it through yet but it is recommended for him.

My friend yesterday was telling us about what happened to one of the comms nurses. She went to visit a mum and baby and mum said she wasn't feeling very well. She stayed half an hour, then left and went off to visit other babies. Nurse phoned the first mum later on to confirm something, asked how she was and the reply was "Oh, I'll be alright, will just keep taking the Tamiflu..." - yes, that's right, she'd got confirmed swine flu and hadn't seen right to inform the nurse before the nurse went off visiting other sick babies!!!
