Anyone got any tips on how to make daytime naps work as nothing I'm doing is working?

    I have a question

Does anybody have any experience with private medical/dental plans like Bupa or similar?
DS1 has a dental problem and it is going to take 6mths just to be referred to an orthadontist, who will then assess whether he is eligible to get work done on the NHS as the criteria has been tightened and only serious cases get funded......Sooo I was thinking of the private option. The letter said that private appts are readily availabe but at £95 just for the assessment appt I dread to think how much the whole treatment might cost!! and we can't even afford the £95 anyway....BUT I don't want to leave his teeth the way they are now I really want to get something sorted.......
I have been looking around but can't see any kinds of prices, or even, whether they will approve 'existing conditions'

My sister should have had braces as a child but my mum never got her them:confused:, anyway, she ended up getting them when she was about 25. Very expensive, around 2.5k!! This covered all the appointments for tightening etc. They had a payment plan tho and it was worth every penny as it changed her whole face shape.

Noy sure if you could get an insurance type plan to pay out on an exsiting condition, think you'd need to pay the 'shelf' price as it were?
  • Mel - Not sure if it's worth you waiting or not. I waited over 2 years to be referred to an ortho and thank god I did as on my first appointment they put on my brace. As I'm an adult the treatment privately would have cost around 4.5k  but I did look at the private option and most of them don't cover ortho work, although this was about 2 years ago so I'm not sure if they've changed

Kieren is a good napper but DD was a nightmare! I used to just stick her in her pram and walk round the block til she drifted off
