It's because he gets away with murder, his mum is a total pushover flake, he hit her in the face last night she put him in the corner, he came out and she said "oh well" Yeaaaah great.

I'm not perfect by any means, but hitting is something I won't tolerate, and I see him hitting the other boy we usually walk home with, the mums are friends so it's a bit iffy ground, but he's a bit of a bully I'd say!

Ah, you're talking about GayOH coming back to work where you do - yes? I thought you'd asked for different hours or something for when you go back :)

No employer is obligated to give anyone a job (even if there were any available). They obviously cannot discriminate against anyone for all the usual reasons (sex/age/sexual orientation etc etc) but there are all sorts of other reasons not to give someone a job. Assuming they would reiniterview him along with other candidates, they could give the job to another candidate or even simply not give any of them a job if they've not met the criteria for the role. The criteria can be changed at any time as the role changes so even though he could do the job before, he might not be able to do it now if he was lacking a skill they've now deemed essential. All sorts of ways to get out of it.. ;) *ahem*

SM - pretty sure there's nothing he could do because he hasn't applied for a job, if he'd applied and been rejected then maybe but not in the situation you describe

Thanks Dora I'm loving it at first glance :)
OH's cousin is having a [STRIKE]rather rushed[/STRIKE] spontaneous wedding in between Christmas and new year so I said we HAVE to go because We'd only be at home bored otherwise :D
