Sami when you're about. A while ago you were researching car seats - one from Costco possibly? Did you get one? Or did you find something better?

I should be getting Violets next one now she's 9 months old - and was thinking of one of the 9mth to 11yr ones........but I don't know where to start!

And anyone else is welcome to recommend a 9 mth + car seat they've got/had. :D
I got the Britax evolva it's a 9mth - 11yrs one (although I personally wouldn;t use it on a baby as little as Vi coz it doesn't recline and is ver straight backed so if Chris falls asleep in it with out his lil neck cushion his head lols forward. its on offer in mothercare at the mo so is actually cheaper in there if you use quidco and could probably find a code for money off it too ;)

    Morning everyone!

My scalp is really annoying me, it's been so itchy the past few days, might be that pantene shampoo but I used another one yesterday and it's still a bit itchy. I hope I don't have bloody lice!! I'm going to go check Keiras hair in a sec!

Plans for today ARE - Do the dishes, hoover the living room, take the bins out, unload the washer and dryer, do the ironing and put the clothes away. Let's see how I manage!!

Thanks. I thought he looked vaguely familiar in this photo so looked on wiki to find out what else he's been in and he was in A Time To Kill so I have seen him in something (and am now duly impressed Bruno).
ooh one of my fave films! and I love missisipi burning too, have you seen Fried Green Tomatoes?
Is it weird that loads of my fave films have strong racist themes?:o:confused:

Tigs - He looks so grown up!!!

rmac - I've never seen the lost boys either I think I'm too young and I've never caught it on tv

    Morning :)

I'm glad to say the baby pics on here and facebook are NOT making me feel broody! :)

I had an arguement with my hubby last night (we don't usually argue just sulk lol)-over the neighbour situation. The environmental health have sent us a letter saying basically there's nothing they can do, everything is normal noise and tough!! I said that's it-i've had enough. I don't have the energy to fight this anymore, I'm moving out. He got angry, said i can't just leave him with this going on and that we'd have to sell up with a loss and be in debt. Big arguement, he (for the first time ever) chucked something across the room and stormed out...only to walk around the building the come back in because he'd taken my keys by mistake and i had his car keys!!

Good news is we both calmed down, decided that maybe we should stay put and keep on at the environmental health till it gets sorted. My wierd neighbour sent us a xmas card? she's playing games now isn't she?

Making up is good though ;) lol.

Elliot usually naps around 9am ish but is being awkward today. He has been sleeping loads better since the hopsital gave him the medicine though :)

    keely.
:rotfl:way to burst is grumpy bubble lol
I hope you can get the enviro to see she's a nut job soon

I have bought a toilet seat lock - OH won't let me attach it, even though so far the nappy cream, a spoon, and the baby's hands have all made a journey into it :( he loves flapping the lid, and loves putting objects into containers and taking them out again...

She won't let me attach it because the other day she got so frustrated trying to undo the child lock on the washing machine cupboard that she broke the cupboard hinge :( which I still have to work out what to do about, she tore the hinge out of the wood so tis a bit of a mess.
    sorry but :rotfl:
I suggest a lock on the bathroom door instead;)

Beanie babies should be kept rear facing as long as possible, 9mths when they're allowed to face forward but it's much safer to be rearward so the longer you can have them rearward the better. Info:

mook if your online can i ask you a question ....... if someone says you cant have a job coz it would be wierd for the other staff but then says theres no jobs to cover what they said ... could they get in trouble? i have to pop to the docs now but be back later ... cheers sweetheart x
why would it be weird? it sounds like discrimination depending on why
(I don't think mooki is the best to answer that Qu but I could be wrong:))

    Thanks Sami :D.
I've done a little bit of research, and the 9mth-11yr ones do look a little too upright for my little Vi! So it may be a 9mth-4yr one for us, one that can lay down a little bit.
I only put Livs on freecycle a few weeks before I found out I was having Violet - but it was an old Britax (I think), and weighed a ton! But it could tilt back to three positions I think.

Now my other dilema is do we get two seats, or one and faff about swapping it between cars? OH will be taking Violet to nursery, and I'll be collecting her. We park in the same car park for work - so it is possible to swap the seat across - but a bit of a faff. But, this arrangement will only be for a month or so anyway.

And whats the important bit that means she's too big for the baby seat? Weight, size or age? I think she's still only ickle, she's got a lot of growing to do before her head reaches the top of the baby car seat. :o

Thanks for the advice on wind. We used Dentinox for 2 weeks and have been using Infacol for about 4 weeks I think. She has no problem with burping, but is clearly in pain when trying to squeeze out a fart/pass wind (whatever you like to call it)! Might give the Gripe Water a try next. I am kind of put it off it by the name! And also, DH's Gran gave us a bottle before Holly was born and it was already out of date, so I associate it as a bit old fashioned!! ha ha.

Holly was awake before I had my shower, so I put her in her bouncy chair in the bedroom with the door open so she could see me. When I came out, I started drying my hair with the hairdryer as I always do, and her bottom lip started quivering and she started wailing!! After calming her down, I tried another few times and the same thing happened. Poor thing will have to stay bald for life if she scared of the hairdryer!! Strange thing is she has watched me use it loads of times and it's never been an issue.
  • Fizio how weird - izzy was the same with the hoover - she used to kive watching me hoover, then one day she suddenly started to be terrified of it. She's still not very keen on it, but better than she was - she will watch me hoover without crying, so long as she has someone to cling on to, or if i carry her round while I'm doing it (which is why I tend to save hoovering for when someone else is here!)

For the record, I have cleaned the kitchen sink and all the surfaces, washed up, hung out the washing, cleared up all the stuff izzy has strewn round the kitchen floor, cleaned the loo, picked up a handful of things from the living room mess and started to clear the hallway. Now sitting down to lunch while Izzy is still alseep, before i continue the onslaught.

Amber is 11lb2oz, did screamies at jag time but is now happy. I missed her hospital appointment and even after calling 5 times, no body answered so I will get a cheeky letter saying that I missed the appointment.

    DS1 has swine flu.

DS2 is being filmed on Monday for SALT trainee exams. And he has a spotty face too :D

DH's cousin has been diagnosed with PND after finally admitting that she was not coping. MIL told me all the details which I wasn't too pleased aboiut, I'm sure cousin wouldn't want me knowing all the details.

And I am needing pankillers, a new womb and a sleep.
