Squishy, does it say BGC (bank giro credit)? Then it will say number-CHB for child benefit. Or tax credits for TC.

Biggest bit of news here though is that we now have another little one in the house - "smudge" joined our family yesterday and was very nearly joined by a gorgeous tabby sibling. The only thing that stopped me running away with said sibling is that the insurance for two cats starts to become expensive - not to mention regular vets stuff!

Will post pics later (if I can remember how). :D

Hope everyone is ok. Now gonna catch up a bit and be back later.
    piccies please! :D
(is now not a good time to mention you get multi pet insurance discounts and vets bills arent that high cos they sometimes will do multi pet discounts... sorry :o run back and get her lol)

Sorry Em, hope you weren't offended by my little rant about car seats. Fair enough if you are making the best of what you have, but it's the ones that have bought a huge pram with everything and they still insist on using the car seat and then wonder why the baby is cranky. By the way, both the boys were in lie flat pushchairs, DS1 a 3 wheeler from mothercare (chocolate brown urban detour awesome buggy) and DS2 an el cheapo travel system from argos (£100 one) and they were in them from 2 weeks old (and they were 5lbers), never did them a bit of harm :D
    i wasnt offended :D
we have a lie flat buggy that the car seat goes on top of, which was supposedly suitable from birth, but the straps were too loose and he just looked lost in it. its not just mine that has the strap issue either, a friend of mine had a posh M&P one and a 10lb14oz baby and the straps on that were too loose for him! also IMO its important to have them parent facing, and the buggy was forward facing
we put him in it to sleep when we were at peoples houses and it just seemed like if we went up or down a kerb it would be dangerous cos he would slide out the top or bottom cos of the loose straps! i started putting him in it when he was about 3-4 months old i think, but we didnt really have any proper day trips out before then anyway, just quick popping to the shop type trips really. there was no need for us to get a pram cos we lived in the middle of nowhere and the only way of getting out was by car so it wasnt like we did a lot of walking.
i'll admit when i pop to asda i do keep him in the seat, but thats cos he is too big for the baby trolleys and too small for the toddler seat still. there is no other way for me to do it yet!
we are still trying to squeeze him in the car seat now :o his head isnt over the top of it so its still safe but he is rather chunky so cant wear a coat lol. the IL's are getting a new one for xmas, so he just needs to be able to squeeze in for another few weeks!!

Thanks both :) It doesn't actually say anything else other than 'bank credit' - no indication of where from, so if it should have a reference number it must not be the benefit: it's just they are the only people I was expecting money from so don't know where this appeared from! Yay extra money :P Must phone the bank and ask.

I had a travel system thing for Keira, with the car seat that attached to the top, and I always put her in that, wasn't going to put a 1 month old baby in the bottom, could of fell out the leg holes!

She slept in her car seat at nights until she was about 5/6 months, and last time I checked her head wasn't flat. She wouldn't sleep lying down so was the only option.

Midwife never told me off for it, and I really couldn't give a flying cahoot what people think about it either. Was that or no sleep.

My sisters birthday today, she's 16, bless, didn't even bring me down some cake but she came down for her pressie!

SM my fairies just came back from the post office to find they'd left your DVD out of the package they sent. They apologise and will rectify soon.

I have to go back there anyway - I have 22 envelops going to the US and Canada. Each one weighs 19g in total (all contain a teabag or seven...) and they wanted six euro for each one because the envelope was a nonstandard size!!! I'm currently rewriting 22 standard size envelopes and cursing Germany.

Thank goodness for the last couple of replies, I was getting scared of posting this morning because we always have Andrew in the car-seat on the buggy, rather than the buggy proper! It's partly because it's parent-facing, the buggy doesn't turn around; but mainly because he's soooo small still, the buggy part is just too big (even with a liner) and he slips in the straps. I thought I had read somewhere that they were okay in the car-seat for upto around three hours? And that the car-seat could even be used in the house as a rocking chair?
