MFD is there a chance a good pair of spanx would help?

    Nope :(

It would appear my ribcage is bigger than before :( That's the strange thing about my baby weight - it is all above my belly button kind of sat under my bust

Hubby thinks a good shop will cheer me up...I know that shopping when you have to go up a size is depressing as hell.

    Absolutely gutted :(

thanks everyone. If it were one of you posting what I posted I know what I would say - so have taken my own advice! I took Annabel to the HV drop in clinic to see the Dr and the HV took one look at me and asked if she could come and see me this afternoon!!! I thought I looked okay as I had showered, but i think my bleary eyes couldn't be hidden!

Susan - that's a great suggestion. My biggest problem is that now she's so mobile all she wants to do is explore and we have lost the hypnotic effect tv has. Not that I'm complaining about that, but it is at times like this I could do with it. Hopefully the HV will give me tea and sympathy and tell me I'm doing a good job! Where is Savvy????

  • MacSmiler - I have been known to stick Benjamin in his highchair in front of CBeebies to give me a little respite :o At least I know he is strapped in and can't go anywhere!!

are you going to come to our meet next week?

oo i dont think im brave enough!! i need to be around here tho at lunchtime to drop jake at nursery then back again at 3ish to pick him up!

sami and susan thanks for the milk info! i made a batch of cheese sauce n white sauce when i had a big bottle of full fat so its just a splash of semi n mashed spuds really! i just use formula on her weetabix if we've no full fat in,

rmac hope the hv visit goes well, she sounds lovely unlike mine who i wouldnt feel comfortable telling her if i was having problems!

mfd, jasmines strapped in her highchair watching telly too:o its the only thing that keeps her contained! she leans forward in her bouncer and her swing so cant use them anymore and when i sit her on the floor with her toys she starts rolling round the room at 100mph!!!

sami and MFD, the under the rib thing may well not be fat. The relaxin hormone affects the between the ribs muscles and ligaments, and then the foetus applies pressure from the inside. This often causes permanent enlargement of the ribcage, a bit like the way having fixed braces permanently changes the profile of the teeth.

    HTH :)

We missed our window of opportunity with a play pen. we didn't do it soon enough and when we tried we got constant screaming and general upset from her. along those lines, I have already bought her reins so we don't miss that window of opportunity!!!

LO actually gone down to sleep so having some 'me' time and the chance to get some lunch :D How on earth am I going to be able to run my own business in this chaos?!

  • r.mac, my coping strategy is that my Mum has the children two afternoons a week and I either have a cleaning blitz, lounge and watch tv or meet DH or my friends for lunch. Poppy has also started two half days at nursery which she adores. She gets to play to her hearts content without Jamie pinching her pencils or taking her book ;). Its just me and a napping Jamie this afternoon :).

Hope you feel better this afternoon and hope LO gets over her cold soon!

    xx
