I'm in the same NHS area as Beccles though so if she got good stuff hopefully I will too.our freebies were poop - a leaflet on the importance of drinking water and one I can't rememebr but not of use to us
That is so wrong. It really annoys me when people do bad things and then make excuses by saying that they've had a really hard life.OMG!!!:eek::eek::mad::mad::mad:

the 4yr old tried to feed her 3month old baby brother because their mum went out to get bladdered for 24 hours!
Would you not be having the goose instead of the turkey? We get goose breast from Lidl and cook it in the slow cooker the day before so that we can use the goose fat to roast the potatoes.Buttonmoons wrote: »Do you eat duck often? I dont think I've tried it before but OH keeps trying to persuade me to buy a goose for Xmas! It looks disgusting and a weird colour to me and I can't stand fat on things, pork makes me gag!!
Plus, I only have one oven, how am I supposed to cook a turkey, goose, roast spuds, yorkie puddings, pigs in blankets, stuffing and roast parsnips all timing it right? He must be joking! The potatoes are the WORST, They need well over an hour and that's if they are right at the top of the oven too.
When I was in sixth form I had a list of everyone's names (because I was doing opinion polls) and I counted up how many people had Louise as a middle name. I think it was about 60% and then Jane as a middle name was about 30%.Buttonmoons wrote: »Ahhh, yes it is a nice name
It's also my middle name too, I think a lot of girls born in the 80's have Louise somewhere in their name though! If we had had a boy, it would of had OH's middle name, as it's middle name, not his first name, it's too odd! It's more important for young children to have a high fat diet because they have small stomachs and need more energy. I imagine the presence of fat soluble vitamins may be a factor too.Jakesmummy wrote: »I meant to ask the other day when you were talking about cows milk, whats wrong with giving a babe under 1 semi skimmed? if ive no whole milk in i sometimes use our semi skimmed in mash ect for jasmine, xAny question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

I've just joined the Sainsbury's Little Ones club and in their recipe section they have a special category of recipes which are "suitable for breastfeeding". It annoys me because it implies that you need special recipes if you are breastfeeding because otherwise they might be unsuitable.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

apologies in advance for my rant, I just need to say it and then I know I'll feel better:
I am so fed up - I had another night of only 3 hours sleep and constant whinging and crying when she was awake. I know she's not well - but I am doing everything I can to help her. DH was about as much use as a chocolate teapot (although I do understand about the new job - need brain cells etc) but I'm soooooooo fed up. I love her dearly and she's my world, but sometimes I need my own space and world for 5 minutes here and there. I feel bad as I am typing this with her moaning at me in her high chair - but I really need to take 5 mins out to ignore the whinging.
but when I get my 5 mins peace - like me night out on saturday, I come back to carnage. When I go out she won't settle for DH - although she will when DH settles her and I'm in the house (typical!). or she unfortunately falls ill. I feel like I am being punished for wanting some time to myself.
I'm finding things really quite tough at the moment but I'm not sure what the point of telling anyone would be - what could they do? I just feel like I'm being pathetic. If everyone else can do this so easily then why can't I. Well I can - it's just bl88dy hard that's all. 24hrs a day 7days a week. where do these superwomen live?
I want to eat a huge bowl of chocolate (has to be cadbury's), watch an inappropriate aged DVD, then sleep for 4 days solid, wake up, shower for more than 6 seconds, get dressed up knowing no-one is going to posset over me, go shopping the have a posh lunch with alcohol and do home to a cosy night in with a husband that I'm not constantly argueing with.
thanks - that feels amazingly better. I don't need replies - I just needed to say it.
Now I'm off to help LO finish off her snack and then play at building brick towers and then knock them down.
I can't promise that all my replies will illicit this responser.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!

Would it be normal to be feeding a child purees right up to 12 months?

hugs r.mac. I'm sure all of the above can and should be arranged, although the 4 days solid sleep might be tricky

I don't think you are pathetic and if I Alice had been like that at that age I certainly wouldn't have managed easily. In fact when Alice had a really bad night of sleep at eight months when she had a cold, OH took the day off work because we were both so exhausted and Alice was so labour intensive and it wasn't as bad as only three hours and was only one night. It's not unreasonable to want a break - if you were in paid employment your employer would be legally obliged to give you breaks from your work and that is because people need to have breaks.I'm finding things really quite tough at the moment but I'm not sure what the point of telling anyone would be - what could they do? Is there anything which will hold Annabel's attention (such as a video) to give you a bit of respite? Last year when OH was at Royal Mail, I used to put Charlie and Lola on on iPlayer for Alice after her bath just to give me a little rest as I found the extra two hours on my own in the evening was too much without some kind of break.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5
