LCK - might be a silly question but are you swaddling?
ETA: I agree with SM. Don't worry about things yet, you can the comforting/sorting routines etc in a few weeks!

Mookie - I was thinking about you when I was changing Liam. With your CM and the changing of clothes, it might be just because she's not her baby. I know with Liam that unless he has soaked through to his vest I just leave him be, but I think I would be a bit more cautious if it was someone elses baby and I would probably change them even if I wouldn't normally change Liam. Does that make sense???

Feelie - talk on here, even just silly thing to distract you. Are you watching x-factor?

First two courses have been eaten and cleared away. Currently too full to try RR, so are catching up on X Factor (Sky+d) whilst waiting for the first two courses to go down. Will read back this morning's posts too...
  • Hi SM :hello: We're not too bad. Reflux seems to have stabilised, we seemed to have cracked sleeping through (touch wood) and his cold has cleared up :T
Hows yours? Oh, what did Philip think of your decorating skills?

Thanks, I'll give it a go. I'm just concerned abotu building a sleeping technique that relies on me but guess he is only 11 days old so will need comforting! just don't want to start down rocky road........

LK - I agree with SM’s good advice. Don’t worry about your baby relying on you. It’s a big scary world and it’s all new to him so just do whatever you need to comfort him just now. I don’t believe he will get into a routine that you can’t break quite easily at such a young age. Try stroking his head, ssshhing him, put him up to your shoulder and rub his back, sing to him softly, and as SM suggested, rock him from side to side, tilting on your lap.

How did the soup turn out, choppy? :)

I've unpacked the shopping and peeled spuds, now OH can take over and make them into chips (I don't do chip pans - he's the fireman! :p). Only quiche and chips for tea tonight, but I've finally remembered to take the chicken out the freezer for curry tomorrow night. Been meaning too all week!

Chopsticks, glad you had a good night out, I think I missed you posting about it, what did you do? Where did you go?
We went to friends for dinner. They said we could take Caitlin too but she has slept so well the past few nights we didn't want to jinx it by taking her out of her routine, so my sister babysat. We had lovely food - goats cheese and pear for starter, a chicken and sundried tomato pasta bake with garlic ciabatta for main and rhubarb in puff pastry for dessert.

Searching - at least it was a real spider she woke you up for! I wake OH once a week at least to get rid of imaginary spiders that are crawlling up the walls! It is more than nightmares, every time it convinces me it is real, even once I'm awake. He refuses to get up now, I'm going to be so cross when it is a real spider! Hope you get a lie in tomorrow :) Enjoy your shopping!

Are you my secret twin...I do that too!!!
Chops, it's great having Andrew home, even if I am still learning! He's currently tucked in the crook of my arm, gazing up at me while I type. Awwwwww.
Bless, have you got any more recent photos.
    And awwww to marley's post.
We just walked to the shop to buy food, and have potatoes baking in the oven. It was very windy and cold out, so Toby wore his hat:

Toby is sat on the floor playing with a bottle of water.

Feelie, where do you find all these fantastic clothes for Toby? He has an amazing clothes selection.

Am in bed, LO finally feeding and hopefully sleep soon. Not sure what to do really, the lows are getting more frequent, even if I can seem alright in the mean time. Why does it have to be such bad timing? It is really, really scary and I don't know what to do. Hopefully he'll sleep now, but what do I do tomorrow? Sorry bout this. Think I might just have to admit defeat.
