Hi Laura
I wouldn't worry too much about your daughter taking things at her age - it doesn't mean shes destined for a life of crime. Young children have a pretty loose concept of ownership so I'm sure she will be over that stage soon enough.
Reward charts are great, I also used the naughty step at that age and just kept repeating myself until it sunk in.
Also could she be jealous of the attention you are giving your younger child and trying to get your attention - thats fairly common where there are younger siblings. If so maybe you could do a mum daughter activity during nap time or something else that gives her your undivided attention for half an hour a day.Husbandly update ...
It's not a hernia. It in in fact a suicidal pancreas (I'm not sure what you'd call it in English). Anyway, his pancreas has grown little tubes into his abdominal cavity that are leaking fluid, hence the swelling. At the same time, his pancreas is gently necrotising. At the moment, the fluid dripping into his system is sterile, but it could start coming from the dead section of the pancreas in which case he will get peritonitis, which might kill him. Or he could haemorrhage, which might kill him. He's currently having a blood transfusion and will be sent up to a ward when there's a bed for him, and tomorrow he's getting a chest tube for drainage and a metric ton of antibiotics.
He's going to be in hospital a week, and probably two or three.
And needless to say, he doesn't have insurance so it's going to be expensive. My boss knows about him, and so does the chief of gastroenterology, but we'll still be paying something and it's going to be a lot.
Edit before I go to bed:
Thanks for good wishes, and good luck to MM.
Oh poor you having to cope with all this. hope hubby gets better soon.MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
That sounds awful SS. Big hugs to you and Mr Sugar, and hope he feels better soon xx
Staying in today as the fence man is coming. Going to have another bash at potty training. I've got Charlotte in the right mindset as she keeps saying it's naughty to wee wee in trousers, and she's looking forward to wearing her Tombliboo knickers. Fingers crossed we get it sussed this time
Good luck becles - I keep thinking ohh he seems ready we'll do it soon ....no we'll do it NEXT week lol :rotfl:.....have had one attempt but Archie decided the potty was evil and kept throwing it away everytime I asked him to sit on it. I am currently trying him on the seat on the toilet every day at bath time and he doesn't seem so resistant to that one thankfully.MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -

elle, are you around?
Is there a quick calculator online that will help me work out the approx cost to an organisation of having an employee (over and above their gross salary) that encompasses stuff like pension, NI, training, Employee assistance programmes, having a HR dept to look after them, cost of payroll admin time to have them etc...?
I'd be very grateful if you know anything about that :A:D

Oh SS, have some ((hugs)) from me too... Don't have anything constructive to offer... Except... Could they maybe whip out a kidney to flog while they're in there? Might help towards the bill?
Weezl, morning lovelyI'm sure you'll be fine in les mis if the seats are shaped enough... When I was pregnant, I couldn't sit through a church service comfortably... But could sit through a film in the cinema fine... I put it down to the nice curved, slightly reclined seats...
Quiet day for me today... Although it's school photo day, and there's some sort of art show of the childrens workat 3:30... I can sense a fleecing coming from somewhere....A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... We did a lot better last night... Was about 11:30 before hubby finally shut up and let me go to sleep... I think madame slept until 4... but a quick feed and she went straight back down again... Although he who can do nothing quietly woke her at 5:30 when he got up for work... But again, a feed and back down... She then slept until 8, but Aimee came and woke me at 6:30 to complain that Daddy hadn't put her light bulb back in (removed last night after many requests not to put it on and to just go to sleep!) so I managed a good 4 1/2 hour block and then it was a bit patchy after... But still a good chunk of sleep compared to what I've had!
How are you and fergie sleeping? Is pregnancy waking you more than him at the minute?A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... we take it in turns I think! Current solution is me in the back spare room alone while DH stays in our room with Fergie's monitor. This is because DH couldn't handle being woken up by both of us, and decided he'd sort fergie out
poor you that DH woke babywhen are you thinking she'll go into her own room?

Morning ladies!
I have got didly squat chance of catching up. Have had DD2 here for a couple of days so have hardly been online. Anyone tell me if I've missed any special news please? X (if no-one minds!)Too many children, too little time!!!0 -
Morning
I actually slept well last night (so did elliot) - the antibiotics actually seem to be working. Just got period pains to deal with now!
I have noticed small things that elliot can now do- he can stand up by himself without needing to hold onto something (ie furniture), when he dances now he's really trying to use his whole body and tries to sing along to music he likes. He is like a little old man-he puts his hands behind his back when he strolls around the flat lol! He now tries to climb up my legs to be held if i have ignored him (oops). He scrunches his nose up when he grins and is laughing
The small things really make me smile
