You asked if anyone else was using parents as childcare for working.
My mum is getting £30 a day for looking after fergus on thursdays while I see clients. We start this week. I shall probably do this up until 2 weeks before my due date if I can
My mum and dad have Henry one day a week but all I give her is yogurts and his lunchtime meal. She uses here cereal and buys any nappies he needs.
After reading all your posts re Christmas pressies I started to think we were being a bit mean to Henry by not buying him loads of pressies for Christmas.....:sad:Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
well it might only be in Wales, but I doubt it! Free jar of baby food if you spend £1 in the cafe.

I spent the whole night upset. Could hardly sleep.
Because!! OH had told me when we were out yesterday, his mum had mentioned to him that she was quite hurt and upset that she wasn't invited to my birthday party. I didn't have a birthday party, I just went to my nanas social club (which I do go too every so often on a Sunday for bingo!) I did ask Zahara to make me a cake, but only because her's are the best and it certainly wasn't coming to the "party" with me, I would of cut it up and gave my nana a slice though!
I feel awful about this, I don't want her to feel like I don't like her!!
The other thing aswell is, I would invite her out more but my mum and that side of the family are kinda scummy, and it embarrasses me. Plus the social club is like drinking and bingo (gambling) and Zahara is muslim so obviously can't participate.
She's good fun to be around, but she's a bit loud sometimes and just says what she thinks which can be slightly embarrassing, but It doesn't bother me, I know my mum would be thinking "!!!!!!" and I don't want Zahara to feel left out or anything?
This is totally bothering me, I don't know how to fix it, OH did tell her it wasn't a party I had. I would of had a party if I knew enough people to invite!!0 -

Wonderfully! The disposable liners seem kind of pointless though because she's not pooping anything solid so they just end up stuck to her. We'll figure it out thoughOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Em - the free jar is nationwide at asda
(I think its sponsored by cow n gate
There's another place that does it too but I can't for the life of me think who it is!
SM - the pram is there a way you could pull both hoods so they're together and then put a bin bag over the seam bit? (obviously making sure there's enough air in there for him) Weirdly I had a random thought last night, wandering if you'd sorted the rain cover problem
Making Christmas decs with zoe you can do salt dough like Weezl said and then theres loads of paper things like cutting out snowflakes, making paper chains, cone angels, loo roll santas, wool pompoms for the tree, pompom snowman. basically anything you made at school, you could maybe get her to sew her own stocking.0 -
BM - what do you do at christmas? maybe you could invite her to a little Christmas decorating party it doesn't have to be anything big Just invite the ILs and any one else you trust round have a buffet tea, play Christmas music and decorate the flat and tree Keira would love it and IL would feel included.
I feel like crying and don't know why??silly hormones!

Grrr.. so annoyed with the IT guys at work. Apparently there is a crackdown on using work email addresses for non-work things, and they've found some emails from Facebook and Western Union in my junk inbox. I've never ever used my work email address for Facebook and wouldn't touch WU with a bargepole - do they really think I'm that stupid?! One of them has gone running to OH, saying he won't report me, he'll give me time to change my Facebook email  I've not used my work email for almost six months. They are clearly just fake emails, which surely an IT dept should be aware exits?! I get them all the time to my home address and used to to my work one, everyone does, so why pick on mine?!
My mum's just phoned, asking if she can come over as she's avoiding her houseworkThe work on their house starts next Monday, think she's just fed up of tidying when she knows half the house is being ripped apart shortly - I remeber that feeling well!
It affects every room but their dining room and the three bedrooms - they're changing the integral garage into a grand hallway plus utility, moving the downstairs loo, new doorway into the living room, changing the kitchen and conservatory into an open plan thing.. Roll on next summer!

Thats a good idea sami. I have Xmas tree decorations, I'll go buy some crappo tinsel and stuff too, me and OHs mum could make salt dough decorations
She actually just called, but I didnt mention as feel it would be better face to face, she's in halfords looking at booster seats for Keira as she is looking mighty squashed in the car seat. Also asked her if she was free at weekend and we'd all go up and stay over, I think she misses us TBH, she's used to being busy and looking after people, but OH and his sister have left, and at one point she had me OH and Keira living there, and OH's dad is away in Houston right now with work, she says she likes the peace but I'm not sure she does tbh! They live in a very isolated house, with a creepy castle in their garden. Used to give me the jeebies going outside at night to find the cat!
So about car seats, we are going to get a booster,as Keira is over 3 now, but whats the best type? She said there was one reduced from £99 to £50 in Halfords and it had the back too it, I would prefer one like that as oposed too just a plastic seat type thing.
£50 seems a lot though or maybe I'm just cheap?0
