sling ladies --- are there any slings where you can carry baby facing outwards on your front??? saying that, by baby i mean a 7month old??

i have looked a the joey link and they seem to be showing the older bubs on the back??

looks like i will be going home alone (too upset to talk about it), but wonder if a sling will be easier for me when out and about on my own????

had something else to ask and now it's gone.....

There used to be a website you could check CM's in the area but all I can find now is the DirectGov one and it's nowhere near as good as it was!

Anyone else find they have a bigger sex drive after baby born?
they took the old website down cos it had too much detail apparantly :( i found it really annoying too. when i struggled, i emailed someone from the NCMA who put me in touch with the one i chose - good to go through the NCMA as they weed out the ones that are doing it for convenience from the ones you want to use that actually want to be childminders :)

sex drive, are you joking? :rotfl: i'd quite happily never have sex again! OH keeps pouncing and i do oblige occasionally but all i can think is one or all of the following "i dont want to get any mess on my sofa" "my back is hurting on this hard living room floor" "my belly is wobbling everywhere and its vile" "i wish i was asleep in bed right now"

    :o

i hope it will be different when we get our bedroom back... on the other hand i quite like being able to bat him away using seth as an excuse when he gropes me in the middle of the night :rotfl:

AF - Holly was wearing this yesterday for the first time and I loved it! The spotted tights went well with the dress and looked better in real life than in the picture. I really like the little knitted dresses. I like nice soft things for very young babies, but these still look modern and not too babyish.

No, just as big as it was before, only difference is Chris wouldnt let me have any when I was preggers !!!

She had a great birthday until her leg started to hurt :( Docs think she has tendinitis in her muscle just below the knee, so is on anti inflamitories for a week. But she got loads of presents and over £100 in cash  All in all a great day though :)

Oh no, poor love! Mind you, I can just imagine her on the sofa, leg on a cushion, remote and drink by her side and the Argos book. Going through what she wants to spend her dosh on not realising you've already put it in her account. :rotfl:
Too many children, too little time!!!

Yeah, I figured he would tell me if he needed more, but you know how parents worry because they have nothing to worry about !!!

Kai was down to only 5 bottles at 2wks old and 4 bottles at 3wks old because by 3wks he decided to sleep 7pm-7am....don't worry about it he will take as much as he needs:)
Personally Glam, I chose a nursery for Jasmine over a childminder, because I feel very strongly that an interaction with other kids their own age is very good for them and can help them learn to play, share and to try new things as they are more willing to do what others are doing !!
I understand I am very lucky and have a fantastic nursery which is staffed 1 to 4 kids per room less than 10 mins from my house, but I do think that even so, I would have chosen a nursery anyway, as for me personally I think that home environment at a CMs is what I want to give on my days at home, and its not for someone else to give my child.

I don't want to become to embroiled in this debate, but just wanted to add these are similar reasons as to why I also opted for a nursery...also the added security that a nursery offers over a CM, in so far as a CM has to be crb checked and have the home enviroment ofsted inspected yet there is nothing (unless you sign to state so) to stop the CM from going 'visiting' friends and relatives houses with the children in their care or to have people visiting them...(imo) there is a loss of control over who the child comes in contact with.

Although I do agree it depends on whether you find a CM who you trust 100% and who is in tune with the way you want your child raised etc...and I do agree with some of the positives of MFD's earlier post on this subject:D

This is my position, but OH believes she's read about studies linking Calpol before the age of 2 to asthma and allergy incidence... has anyone come across this?

Another 5.30am morning here :( he must learn!

    ETA Also this news article

Bruno, paracetamol (afaik) has no relation to asthma...nurofen (ibruprofen) on the other hand does and can trigger asthma attacks

AND:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:@ that article. I happen to live in Ellesmere Port and I'm sure I would have seen or heard of this 'chaos' it is not a very big town!!!! I wonder if this article was written by a southerner trying to make out all northerners are slack-jawed yokels (again)

Em - did your AF show up in the end??

    BTW HELLO EVERYONE:D:D:D

On the childcare front, am I the only one going back to work and using grandparents (my mum, specifically)??

ETA Maybe that should be "utilizing with consent", not "using" exactly.. :rotfl: :o
:rotfl:you are in a unique position though, I'm not sure how many mum's are lucky enough to have parents that are capable and free to do it.
If I go back to work when the boys are at school they will most likely be picked up by grandparents/great grandparents so I could work 10-4 as most p/t jobs round here have those hours and I have no intention of working a proper 9-5 before they're in high school.

How old are you Elle? (if u don't mind) I think you're family is the same as mine in that I'm the same age as ur sis and our mum's are the same age, I'm just wondering if you're the same age as my big sis :D

AF - your tights dilemma made me chuckle

I think most people, like with most parenting decisions are influenced by their up bringing as well as an element of necessity, I was looked after by CMs, only went to nursery for my free place and my mum worked at my primary school, dad worked in landscaping/horticulture so always finished early and we only had 1 car so I was never away from my mum or a mum at home type figure (CM).
When I was at primary we used to drop dad off at work on the way to school, have lessons/mum worked then pick up dad on the way home, so for me having had a lovely childhood feel that I want to do similar for my LOs :D

    sorry for ramble

Krystal -- love the pic .... we have those linkies too. how do you feel about dark green?? the fairies bought a zip up jacket type thing (for want of better explaination) in the boots sale and i dont think it's reall my LO's thing.

it is in the 6-9 size. wondered if the fairies at yours would like my fairies to deliv it for you?
Green is my hubbys favourite colour :D I've actually had a green outfit for Caitlyn in each size... A zip up jacket type thing sounds intriguing lol!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

If you replace the Argos book with the Smyths catalogue, you have just described her morning !!! I have said she can spend £40 of it and the rest is being put away :) See I can be a nice mummy sometimes :rotfl:
