Yeah for all not dodgy hips and eyes!

Sorry - another question -I have just reserved a Britax First Class Plus (as they come best etc as Sami said) to collect later today. Anyone any comments? Pros/cons?

    Thank you xxx
Thats the one my mum has :)
cons - you can't recline it while the child is in it, so mum's is always reclined
you have to remove it to alter the strap height
those are the only 2 things that my maxi cosi tobi does that it doesn't that IMO matter

I'm just going to be a little self indulgent now: I was close to tears yesterday about Edgar's hip when no-one commented about it :(:o:o

I'm sorry, lovely, that slipped by me. I'm so glad it's ok!

I'm glad about Rhys's eyes too, I missed that when I saw Mr elle wasn't driving miles today.

Edit: I'm an idiot (Molly just woke up and distracted me). I'm so glad he did a protest wee and I really hope his hips's ok.

Sami's post for those who missed it.. :o

Righty, tell us ignorant ones (or is it just me who doesn't understand hips?) more about it.. What could be wrong and what's the treatment? Is it something your sis can have a feel of and see what she thinks? :)

Sorry Sami, wasn't meaning to be rude. Just not catching up as much as usual as feel sick.

How long do you have to wait for an appointment? Is it one of these months down the line things?

    Aww thank hun :)

he could either have hyper extension (aka double jointed, what I have) that just means that the hip clicks\cracks\crunches a bit like when people crack their fingers. or he could have a misshaped joint - could be the pelvis's socket part or the femur's ball bit or both
he could posibly have a disclocated hip but we don't think it's that because he passes the basic test for that (the test is the one where the doc turns the legs, straightens and bends it etc) and doesn't have one leg longer than the other.

so if it's the first, we do nothing but he may crawl funny and have aches and pains ocasionally - I used to fling my leg out when crawling and some times my hip is sore and stiff
but if it's the 2nd or 3rd thing he may need surgery and or have his legs in plaster for a month or 2 :(

Maz I felt ok quite quickly after having Ed so if it was a birthday party at someones home and I knew the mum more than just in passing I would have gone. I'd have thought harder if I wasn't remotely close to the mum but probably would have still gone - I bet bubba will sleep through the whole thing.

sorry I missed a bit then Elle his right hip clicks a lot - you can hear and feel it especially when I have hold of him on my hip.

Don't worry about apologising I know things get missed, it just made me sad because I was worrying about it so was emotional :o

MOTM we should have an app quite quickly, Chris had the scan at 6wks old, we got the app through when he was about 2 wks

Sorry, still catching up and expecting a visitor 10 mins ago but for Carla and anyone else who bought that Bounce Bounce toy I'd advise checking it over as mine was damaged (and crap) and when I tried ringing the helpline the line was dead. Went back to mothercare and they said they can't get anymore, can't replace the damaged bits and to take it back for a refund.

Now I have to find Kezia another big present for Christmas, the car is frozen solid again so I can't go anywhere until at least tomorrow and I can't go to the wedding I was supposed to go to tonight.

    ARHGGGGHHHH

Sorry, off to drink lots of tea and calm down.

    Back later. xxxx

Its funny how sometimes being told your child is normal is the greatest thing ever :p

    Decision:

Henry has birthday party to go to tomorrow, would you

    a) send him with OH, although OH wouldnt want to go on own
    b) not send him, mother understands and going to do gift bag for Henry anyway
    c) all go including baby who wil be a week old then...even if its only for a little while
i would go all together, the other mums are bound to want a coo and cuddle and it will get you out the house a bit :)

Sami, more *hugs* Really hope it's not something that means treatment :( And hope the scan appointment comes through quickly too. Sometimes it's just the waiting for that letter that gets me!

Em, don't worry about commenting on Rhys. I'm on here all the damn time with his latest results, I'd be amazed if anyone was keeping up with it! (or still interested / not fed up of me yet too!) ;):o

Harley, I agree with em - Keiza won't know if the big present arrives in January xx

Ya know, I don't think Rhys actually has a big present.. He's got three toys the same size (from the Tesco 3-4-2), three little things from me, three (mystery!) things from OH, a few books and a soft toy. Think that's it from us. My sis has apparently bought him SIX presents!
