I always thought Doidy cup was another name for a sippy cup but it seems not - from Amazon 'but with Mum's help the cup can be used from birth'. Might have to shop tomorrow and see if she will take it. Scruffy - you may have saved the day (or at least given me something else to try:D)!!! THANK YOU xxx

This may sound stupid but have you tried a different shape teat? Reece only likes the fat teats not slim ones like the avent, tommee tippe, medula ones - fussy little s0d.

Its these ones (can't work out short links!). http://www.mothercare.com/Lansinoh-Breast-Milk-Storage-Bags/dp/B001B55OWC/sr=1-9/qid=1261045757/ref=sr_1_9/279-4483039-4780817?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=42860041&mcb=core

The buggy board is being returned cos the stupid buyer managed to jam a screw in one of the extension parts and its claiming she received it damaged, so fed up with ebay! I'll try to sort it then its back up for offer if you are still interested.

I returned something to a buyer at end of nov and haven't had a refund. Gumtree and stuff for sale only now, can be dealing with it all at the moment.

Kian slept all night from bout 9.45 till 6.30. so i feel nice and rested today.

Emmensly (sp?) proud of Rhys, but just didn't think I'd done much to be proud of.. he's the one who did the fighting and the docs did the treating - I just stuck my hand in the inci and prodded him! ;):p Am proud of myself now though, it just took time :)

    Nighty night xx
    :eek::eek::eek:

think of the nightmare you've gone through with expressing, you have come through that, and are still going for it! the worry of when he was in SCBU, you came through that! each new health worry you have for him, and look at the way he is defying everything the doctors say about him. you were told to avoid going out in case his immune system wasnt up to it!! you have done fabulously not to crack up completely! you have SO MUCH to be proud of yourself for!
does it feel like you are able to sit back and enjoy him a bit more now he is getting bigger?

P.S. (watching BBC Breakfast) - I drank wine regularly at home from about 13 years old, only a glass a week and my parents never drank to excess so I wasn't in an "alcohol" environment. I didn't turn into a binge drinker, despite rumours to the contrary! I'd say I binge once a year at the works xmas party, that's all. So I shall probably be gently introducing Andrew to alcohol in a controlled environment when he's older (presuming the govt haven't made it a hanging offence by then). What does everyone else think?

Typical that we talk about consuming alcohol when Im a lil hungover!!!! lol :o (Its Elle's fault!!:p;))
My mum and dad let us have a taste of one of them silly alcopop things if they had people round (whicih wasnt very ooften) when I was about 14/15. I didnt care for the taste of any of them. Then i started going out with my ex, and he was a dj, which meant nights out in clubs which meant i started drinkgin regularly every weekend. Mum and Dad didnt mind as long as I came home standing and coherent. ie. not ratfaced.
Now I do enjoy to have a drink but have progressed to wine , rum or vodka. and i do binge drink on occassions - like this saturday when im going out!!! :T

  • I decided that if I can get someone to watch Keira for a few hours on Tuesday, I'll nip up to the walk in clinic to go give some of my BLOOD! Also, will see about the platelet thing, 1500 donors and 5 million people live in Scotland. That's really not enough is it?

Plus from this thread, and reading about premature babies, it kinda hits home how serious it all is, the adverts on TV don't make you think "Oh I'll go do that" but knowing that Rhys had to get and (maybe Andrew??) I dunno, it just kinda proves to me that it's worth it. So I'll be doing that (if my blood is aids free of course :rotfl:)

    Yay for giving blood. :j

Right grabbing 1 minute to post while I can...after trying to catch up with you lot... thought it would be easier now I'm off but you talk too much.

Still keeping up with the BF but wanted to ask Krystal or you other ladies for advice. LO (yes still no name!!) only seems to want about 15 mins at a time despite hospital saying I should do 30 at least? Then he seems to fall asleep on the breast despite stripping him and tickling feet etc.... any advice please.

Also he will always have big farting/pooing session as soon as I start feeding him so get thrown btw changing nappy or carrying on feeding.

Having a nightmare still trying to get him to sleep in cot aswell..have ended up in spare bed just us 2 just so everyone can get some sleep.

This sounds exactly like Henry! he's never really fed for longer than 15 minutes at a time, but he has plenty of dirty nappies and has put on nearly 3 lb since birth so I think he is just an efficient feeder. Could well be that yours is that same if he's having lots of wet and dirty nappies?

Henry also poos everytime he is fed, but I just wait till he's finished to change him and it doesn't seem to bother him.

On the EBM question I keep it in a bottle in the fridge for a day so I can top it up, then freeze it at the end of the day in BM storage bags.

Elle- hope you manage a nap. Your sleep is more important than Christmas shopping.

Hope you had a good night SM ;)

MM- hugs for you about going back to work. I used to work for the company that have merged with your company, but am glad I got out before the credit crunch hit. Have your work agreed to your requested hours (was it three days then four days on alternate weeks)? I'm hoping to do something similar so am interested how it works out.
