Gosh, big hugs to poor Krystal, MFD, Jam, Tigs and Elle (sorry I may've forgotten 1 person who said they were suffering too??) for your terrible sleeps! :(:( how frustrating! I hope maybe some of you had a better night last night?

 Do you have a record of doing this Sami?? Otherwise I can't imagine why they would think that :p
    Morning :hello:

P.S. (watching BBC Breakfast) - I drank wine regularly at home from about 13 years old, only a glass a week and my parents never drank to excess so I wasn't in an "alcohol" environment. I didn't turn into a binge drinker, despite rumours to the contrary! I'd say I binge once a year at the works xmas party, that's all. So I shall probably be gently introducing Andrew to alcohol in a controlled environment when he's older (presuming the govt haven't made it a hanging offence by then). What does everyone else think?

I agree with you Tigs, and was the same here (in fact I MAY have been guilty of some minor binge-drinking incidents away from my parents in the 13-15 yr range :o) - however, to be devil's advocate for a sec, they aren't saying "it will mean your child has problems later", they are saying "it increases the likelihood of". So refuting with anecdotes is a lot like saying "I had sex without protection lots of times and never got pregnant" or "I smoked all my life and never got cancer" if you know what I mean :)

Nevertheless shall be ignoring their recommendations and doing what we feel best!

Morning! Little sleep here but my own fault.
Tigs Chris has already tasted alcohol and he loves it :o red wine is the one he'll try hardest to steal a sip off - he has one pink stained t shirt to prove it :rotfl: I think family attitude to drinkng is a big factor and I think we have a healthy one; I dont drink really a d hubby doesn't exceed the units per week.

I've forgotton the other thing I planned to com

Oh maz I say keep feeding then nappy, that should also wake him up enough to have another feed
I think I spent most of the first two weeks feedin almost all through the night but can't remember how I coped though I suspect I just kept nodding off while sat up feeding. Give feeding lying down a whirl too takes a while to get it Sussed but is a life saver! Big hugs, is OH pulling his weight? X

  • Oh :( No chance you could delay going back or maybe even not going back? Is that feasible or is the financial side needing this work?

None at all, my OH only gets incapacity benefit and if I didnt work the mortgage and all accompanying bills wouldnt get paid :(

it's OOS at ALL the local Argoss, I tried about 10 of them!! A lot of people getting fancy tin openers for Christmas?? :p

1 left here - I may just get that !!
    Morning :hello:

Andrew is still maintaining his (relatively) regular 4hrly wakes for feeds, and I'm still trying to maintain some kind of pumping routine too - my sleep started at 11pm, Marley fed Andrew at midnight, I woke at 2am to pump, at 4am to feed Andrew, then got up at 7am to pump before his next feed. Anyone want to lay bets on how much longer I can maintain this? :rotfl: Co-ordinating pumping with feeding only ever lasts for a day before Andrew plays sillywotsits and shifts his feeds!

I wasnt allowed even a sip of alcohol before I was 15 by my parents, but unfortunately for me, by then I was already getting close to being a semi - alcoholic as I was out every night drinking in the streets or the forest behind my house.
I really started to have a big problem when I turned 17 and could easily drink a 10 glas bottle of cheap vodka and a quarter bottle of goldslagger and still be standing and coherant :o I think letting them have a little taste of drink is fine, although I personally think the education of alcohol is much more imprtant that the taste of it

OK that was deep for this time of the morning !!
How are you all ?? I'm sleepy, but thats becasue my stupid OH snored alllllllllllllll night

Mmm nice yummy breakfast of choco moons and stars :D

I was boozed out with friends at age 15, I didnt even want too, I just did it because they used to make fun of me if I didn't, I didn't ever get drunk though, I'd pour half of it down a drain or whatever :rotfl: my friend got into right states and liked to tell everyone she was an alcoholic (more like an attention seeker)

My mum used to give us advocat or something, some weird thing you mixed with lemonade at Xmas!

I've only really started drinking in the last 2years and not excessively, though I guess it's classed as binge? Because I do tend to get drunk, but I don't get in a big state, I can still walk, talk, dance and have senses still.
  • see thats why I purposly said a semi-alcoholic !! Couldnt think of a way to describe it and I was never at the point of needing a drink so bad I would sit on my own to do it, but I did drink a lot and had mood swings that would knock you out if I didnt have a drink pretty much every night

She WOULD drink on her own, then phone you up crying or whatever. The odd thing IS, I think she only did it to get attention from a particular support teacher at school, that we both had to see, and it gave her something to talk about (her supposed dependency on drink) She called this woman her 2nd mum, it was all so creepy.

I'd say my mum drinks way over excess, she can drink a bottle of vodka in a night, I can have 4 before I feel like going to bed for a sleep! I'd MUCH rather sleep than drink. I'm lazy and cool like that.
