  • aww em, def ask for an appeal, my BIL got his reduced cuz they hadnt taken into account that he had another child at home too.

As for the car insurance, they have f u c ked up so they will have to fix it !! And if they refuse tell them you are reporting it to the FSA as they have blatently breached your contract by renewing without notice to cancel

MFD - I think the trick is (but I have no idea how to do it) is to earn their respect, My mum can have kids in tears groveling by just saying they have disappointed her but their parents can't control them at all

SB - i had to go to the passport office as I left it VERY late getting my name changed and Ed's 1st one :o

i've had a unbelievably crap day.

we had a letter from the CSA to say that OH now has to pay £170 a month cos i'm back at work, we were expecting to pay more but we honestly dont know where we are going to find this money. we are already as MSE as we possibly can be, the only "luxury" we have is the heating! we are going to appeal it as we dont think they are allowing for reasonable living expenses. once all the bills are paid and this £170 is paid on top, we are then left with £170 a month, for food and anything else that may crop up. i really am going to have to give serious thought to bankruptcy now if they dont agree to reduce it. oh and the wedding almost definitely is going to be off the cards now too!

then i spoke to my car insurance company to find they have auto-renewed my policy but put it up by £10 a month cos i rang to ask what my excess was after it was keyed in january! they have logged it as me having an accident or claim, so my no claims bonus is out the window too :( they never sent me anything to say it was due for renewal either!

Oh ur day does sound poo!!
i didnt realise they would count your income when working out csa!!
when did you insurance renew? theres normally a cooling off period of about 14 days, you should be able to get that mistake sorted though about the dozy person logging you as having a claim!! who u with by the way so i kno to avoid them:p!

CSA confuses me, why should your OH have to pay more because YOU are earning more or whatever? It's not your child and not your responsibility. Doesn't make sense to me!

If me and OH split, I'd not go through the CSA at all, be a private thingy, and I'd not shaft him......moneywise :p
  • SB whats this panel? Freebies? I got some free toothpaste from tesco today actually! Came through the post

Yes, freebies! :D. Usual thing of test and report back.

I'm all set for a home birth

There was a lovely student mw there who is really excited and is going to attend my HB, she hasn't witnessed a birth yet as she's quite new but she's absolutely lovely and i'm happy she's gonna be there.

Best of luck and someone really excited is better than someone who sees it as 'just another birth'.

    Good luck with it all.

    Hello ladies

I'm hoping you won't mind if I join you.
TBH, I don't care if we are being over-protective - he's our first child and we'll do things the way we feel comfortable with - but I would be interested to know your views on whether you think we are being completely unreasonable?

I'm not a lady but hello and welcome :T

I think you've answered your own question. You'll do what you feel uncomfortable with. That's not unreasonable. I'm overprotective of my clan. It's better to be that than underprotective (is that a word?)

They'll just have to get over it.

MOTM - Lyra is the name of a constellation of stars. And it's the main character's name in The Golden Compass. I think Philip Pullman made it up as a name (or thought he had - but turns out there are a few hundred people with that name over the world!).

Oh, really (about the stars). Know nothing about The Golden Compass, but bad luck Mr Pullman.
  • Em (((((hugs)))) I know how you feel re the renewal, I checked my bank last year and I was in the red and when I checked why it was because the insurance had taken off money as a renewal. In small writing it stated if we didn't want to renew we had to phone and cancel. It is seemingly a new thing that is starting, SO we were told!!!!

ETA we called and they refunded the money.

Em you can't loose your no claims if you haven't claimed, also you can cancel it but I think you only get around 80% of what is un used IYSWIM
Did you definitely tell them your new address when you moved?

My fairies can probably help you out with the keyrings if you can sort your own picture... Can't check now because the cats are locked up but give me a prod about it tomorrow...

Emlou's OH must be on the old system where they shafted everyone... I get CSA for Aimee but it gets taken straight from the wage packet because the man that can't be ar5ed to drive 5mins down the road to see the baby he created can't be trusted to pay anything towards her either...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • Hugs, em. Thats a lot of money to find. Hope you sort something out.
