In the end if I was so sick of it (I was pregnant at the time and was finding it all over the door, car and bin) I called the police who told me to report it to the police because it was harrasment and I could have her charged. I then sent her a letter telling her that if it happened again I had taken legal advice and she would be charged for harrasment if she did it again. It never happened again!!
If you are caught or the receiver knows who sends it you can be charged for this so I would be careful.
Can I ask you why your neighbour used to throw cat poo over your fence? was it because your cat(s) did their business in her garden?
The reason I ask, because I can fully appreciate where she is coming from! my neghbours 3 cats all poo in my garden, I have been out already today and cleared up some from my gravel drive and some from the grass at the back. I put the whole lot over my neighbours fence at the back. I hope that she has the nerve to write to me, as I will go round and shove the letter where the sun doesn't shine!0 -

It is foolish to post dog mess through someone's door and could possibly lead you into more trouble than the actual dog owner who let their dog do the dirty deed in the first place if you get caught doing it. I would take the much more sensible and mature approach by noting the dog owner's address, ringing the authorities and letting them deal with it.
why foolish/how can it lead me into more trouble if caught as I am simply returning something that they are responsible for,
more sensible and mature to ring the authoroties?? oh yeah,'thanks for your call we will look into it' they really are going to come out take a sample and then do DNA test, get realI

So are you saying that you watch people on a regular basis and if they don't pick up their doggie do you then follow them home to make sure that the owners house matches with the dog that has fouled somewhere? :T0 -

I think you need to get real actually. Posting dog mess through a letterbox is not the right thing to do even though you can't see the fault with it, I think everyone else on this thread can. What would you do for instance, if you had "returned" the dog mess to a house where you believed the dog owner lived but they were, in fact, only visiting and therefore you got the wrong house? Then this could easily turn into a case just like the one pulliptears highlighted.0 -
Not an ounce of sympathy from me...
I play football on Sundays and the pitch usually has at least one pile of dog sh*t on it. Dirty b@$t*rds let their dogs crap everywhere then good luck to the people who post it back through their letterbox....
I have also been mountain biking before now and lost count of the turds that have been stuck in the tyre...
DISGUSTING! Pay up and learn your lesson OP.
Oh and no offence to the OP but whenever someone gets in trouble for something or has something happen that they don't like then they'll always comment on how the council worker / police officer / shop worker was "rude and intimidating".... that tells me something.0 -
OP - the dog mess enforcement officers would have made absolutely sure that your dog did it before fining your dad.
hartcjhart - you really shouldn't post the dog mess through someone's letterbox. If you are going to the trouble of following someone home and finding out their address, just complete a dog fouling report online and the council will follow it up with a visit and probably a fine. They will be hit where it hurts (their wallet) and you will save yourself some money on padded envelopes too.
Just noticed that the fine for dog fouling is between 50 and 75 quid - you would think that would be enough of a deterrent wouldn't you? But no, every time I go out I seem to wheel the buggy through yet more dog mess.0 -

I live in a relatively small area, people that are 'visiting' rarely lt themselves in.
you are right I cannot see the fault with what I do,but I can assure you these people only need it to happen once and they get the message:rotfl:I
