Victory --- you will analyse and analyse until you've found a 'reason' for that gain BUT maybe there isn't a reason? or a least not a reason that you can find.
For instance - you can retain water for other reasons than TOTM, for example if you have eaten more potassium (or maybe it's less potassium?) than usual. And you might not know how much potassium you've eaten.

You can't/mustn't beat yourself up over this .... just remember how very carefully you plan your eating and trust that it will sort itself out. You are a star and an inspiration in so many ways. Don't be devestated, please. XX

Grumph! As predicted, a STS week for me. I was hoping to have lost a stone by Christmas but have just let the routine completely slip! :o I guess there's time yet and I have been spending a great deal of my daytime sat on my bum at the computer or else sampling what's being made in the kitchen! Sorry, will power just got up and left the building.
I reserve the right not to spend.

I know;) it was so regimentally planned, last year over the festivities I gained 5lb fortunately for me within the next 2 weeks it was gone and I can still remember the complete to the floor devastation I felt that I had ruined it for myself by gaining that amount and how would I ever shift it, what had I done etc etc and this year was so completely focused to never let that happen to me again to go into it as STS to gain yes over the xmas but having the cushion of STS and knowing a gain was coming was going to be my way of coping with it, turns out I have let myself down, didn't do it, can't do it, if there had been any clue this was going to happen (ate more, exercised less, no eye on the portion sizes, drifted off the diet, added cals to the day, drank more booze, don't drink so that was not it, anything that would explain it I could easily hold my hands up be honest and say yes 3lb gain but a 3lb gain for nothing that has not changed is too much for me)
3lb gain can loose it, not the end of the world, still have a week until next wednesday to shift it and can still go into the xmas eve which is thursday on a STS and have xmas eve, xmas day and boxing day off which gains me 1lb a day so 3lb again but justifiably so because no cals will be counted then:D but there are so now:rolleyes:
We were going to have a big dinner on sunday out forget that that is not happening now, head down until next wednesday if there is any justice it will be gone:D

  • BB's daily whimper allowance coming up.. no granny, I'm worser again. I now know the true meaning of eyes like !!!! holes in the snow.. I feel absolutely awful and very unstoic. Day 5 and still going down hill. And it's like it's settling in every dodgy joint I've got too.. Crawling back to bed...whimper...
    Won't be weighing in Fred
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • Happy and r-e-l-i-e-v-e-d to report STS for me this week. :D Had a heavy weekend with big meals out and lots of booze and same scheduled for this weekend too so feel like I'm getting away with it at the mo'. Will continue to follow dieting principles right up to Xmas eve but will relax for a couple of days then get back into it, continuing weekly WI's, bracing for gains here and there but knowing I can work it all off again come new year.

Victory - stop beating yourself up for goodness sake!! So you gained a couple of pounds, so what? You've obviously been doing this for a while which means you should also know that slips happen and an occasional slip after so many weeks/months of progress is no reason to go jumping off the roof in despair!! Put it behind you and move on - or I'll be round to give you a good talking to!! :rotfl:So there!

  • still not weighing fred- just got too much on to get hubg up if it's a gain. I am eating sensibly though, cut sacking right back and eating sensible meals. The clothes feel comfortable so I'm content with that for now. jus heard that the bbc are going pick up primeval where itv left off hooray! i loved that show.

bummer victory. have you eaten less than usual to prompt this reaction? I'm sure you will win overall, you always have done.

Poor BB - have a virtual hug - big bowl of homemade soup - hot water bottle - and hope you feel better before Christmas

Well done everyone on losing and STS and Victory you'll be fine - you know you'll be able to lose it once the festivities are over.
