Victory - sorry to hear about your brother, but I'm concerened that there was no warning? OH & I run a very small business (just 2 employees) but when we decided to make a redundancy this year we had to go through a whole consultation process with both employees, giving them notice that one role was "at risk", the reasons why, what we had done to avoid etc etc plus inviting them to contribute their own ideas to avoid it. Every business regardless of size or number of employees has to follow some kind of procedure but it sounds to me like your brother's employer hasn't? He may have a case for unfair dismissal. Glad that he has a solicitor to check it all out.

Thanks peeps for the concern:D yes, he was unfairly dismissed and should have the above done to him but never so the solicitor says he can go for unfair dismissal at a tribunal but it is a long process and messy and costs a lot and he has no savings so is hoping they will 'compensate' him by giving him another £5k to go quietly etc and if he gets that he will just bid them farewell and be done, he is not in a position to let it all drag on he needs the money to pay the mortgage.

Went to OH works do last night, all posh, silver cutlery, chandeliers, long evening dresses, waited on, the meal was lovely but so little of it, salmon mousse, turkey dinner and choc mousse never ate the desert but the rest for the little they gave you was lush:D then I got back home and went to bed to wake up to a massive hypo (low diabetic blood sugars) and came downstairs and started shoveling things into my mouth, not a pretty sight so all the cals I saved up for I blew in the middle of the night:rolleyes: anyway saves me from going into a coma:rotfl:I just wish when I had to force feed myself chocs they tasted lovely:rotfl: they taste in a hypo like metal steel iron yuck:rolleyes:

  • bummer victory - hope you feel better now. What sort of frock did you wear?
  • Hi victory - good for him, most employers will run a mile rather then end up at a tribunal so he should push for the max he can get.

Very quiet on here at the moment - what's everyone doing today? I have the morning at home (looking out at the pouring rain) then picking up DD from school for a medical appointment this abo. I am also surrounded by wrapped and partly wrapped xmas pressies (very industrious weekend!) but no tree to put them under yet!

red off ebay has to be red black or dark to compliment their reds, had professional photos done also, very nice evening, I have got the raging munchies so making all sorts today to eat, hopefully it will kick in soon that the diabetic numbers do not behave themselves when I go on a food rampage and it is not worth it but so far logic is not registering, I want it and am eating it by the bucket load.

Youngest son ill at home last week it was the eldest:rolleyes:

There is such an atmosphere at work, was told one thing by supervisor another by boss and another by my work colleague, so supervisor called me in today to tell me to listen to her but then the boss, she says I don't get taught anything and keep being told different uhm yes:rolleyes: hate atmospheres and not sure who to listen to now:rolleyes: supervisor says she is going to get it in writing so that she is right and they are all wrong and I do as she says and ignore my boss:rolleyes:

  • Staying in is beneficial! :T
I've just rang Virgin to ask about installing a second box in the bedroom, and the lady said cos I've been a customer for a long time (3 years) I was entitled to a free upgrade from my usual starter package for 2 months!
She said I would get extra movie, sports & music channels. I've checked as I got off the phone & I have tons of extra channels (well it seems tons to me, gone from 55 channels to 100 :rotfl:) also got a few cartoon channels, Disney etc.
Wife will be happy cos she's now got sports channels, I'm happy cos I've got cartoons & a horror channel. (Reminder already set for a horror film this afternoon:rotfl:)

Just need to remember to cancel before 7th of Feb!

Hi VICTORY - sorry for not replying sooner, I havent been around much. Im feeling a bit better but not much. Did my work which is the only assignment we have ever been allowed feedback on (no mark) and then given time to improve it, normally not even allowed to ask them to look at a plan. So am making improvements today, seeing tutor again tomorrow then prob doing more work till I hand in on thursday...and then have not very much time to start and finish an essay lol. Oh well, it will soon be christmas and I can surround myself with family and friends and forget about work for a few days.

Food has been ok, but not good lol. Had stew and mash last night, and the same tonight. Have got myself back into having cereal for breakfast which is better than biscuit binges or fry ups that I was comfort eating on. Am going to start making my own popcorn again as I have loads of corn kernels in the cupboard and I used to use that to either fill me up inbetween meals or as a treat while watching a fave programme etc...far better than the chocolate I have been having in its place.

Hope things are going ok for everyone x

yep that is what it is trouble is the contract states 3 months probation for me and I am coming up to it so want to keep head down and not get into who is right etc but the supervisor has already fallen out with the woman I work with did not speak to her for 2 weeks because she felt she was not backed up:rolleyes: the more I say jokingly to them all don't want to know, I am a newbie, don't drag me into this the more they go on and make sides, I am on my side, my OH said it is form of bullying I am not sure of that, all I know is when the supervisor is on she causes rows and leaves a bad atmosphere to work in...
