We've been sorting out finances, and admin stuff today. All a bit of a pain in the bum to get organised, and people don't do their jobs very well it seems. Looks like money will be super tight until possibly after Christmas,

I had an odd email yesterday from a guy who bought my car 6 months ago, claiming I owe him compensation because he's had to pay for some repairs to it! I got some great help from the MSE guys over on the motoring section. 6 month though, I ask you????:rotfl:

I am sure you and I are related, we always seem to be going through the same thing:rolleyes: 5 years ago, yes 5 years ago:rolleyes: some work on the house we had lived in was done, the builder did a bad job, left marks on the new carpet, paint spills about, nasty tatty job, we asked the person that was looking after the house at the time to take pictures for proof, to contest the bill etc it was left, neither builder or ourselves pursued it, 5 years later out of the blue builder rings up on OH mobile pay me £500 plus VAT for the work:eek: where are the pictures? (the person did not take them) where is the proof it was a bad job? We have none so it goes back and forth, builder passing it on to debt collector if we don't pay:eek: so eventually well 1 hour phone call he has agreed as gesture of goodwill to knock off the VAT (to pay for us having to vax the carpets and get rid of the paint splashes) which was £84 but pay the £500, OH says cannot do that now in December, xmas, have a heart so he has he wants £250 now and the rest before march 2010.
I can't tell you how hard I have worked to make sure all the bills were paid for december to be a clear month so I could have some pressies and the kids would be o.k, I went on endless threads making pots of gold for the colleagues at work, make hampers for the neighbour and school teachers, cut right back on the present spending, bought vouchers for the food months ago, the organization was so military, perfect until this, even bought the three bird and the turkey crown a while ago from Aldi so that it is cheaper and we have it, when M&S had their 1/2 price buffet bits dashed up there that is in the freezer, anything and everything has been 1/2 price and futuristically organized then find me £250 for this month:rolleyes: to me might as well be £2,500 because to find it short of starving it is not as if we drink go out have a social life, yes we are going to the works do on saturday but that is all paid for, I spend ages looking at my bank account but it still will not release me £250 without us crumbling:rolleyes:

I heard from the breast immaging job, saying that i havent got it. It was nice to get a reply, to know either way. The trouble is that that job matched my skills like no other so if i cant get that what hope do i have for anything else? Still, always look on the bright side of life and all that!

Vix, if it helps, I'm in the same boat as you. Something WONDERFUL will come up for both of us (just as soon as Granny rules the world...I, for one, think this is entirely possible ;))

Hi Raph, sounds like you had a great honeymoon! Good luck with the London place. I applied but don't think I heard back...need to check with Mum so thanks for the reminder.

We were meant to be going out for a nice meal tonight, hopefully to celebrate (I had been given some seemingly very positive vibes about the job) or to commiserate, but food just doesn't do it for me any more. This is a GOOD thing at least.

It is a good thing BAILS :D I had that last saturday OH wanted a chinese, I went with him to the take away shop and stood there with my face screwed up apparently, OH kept saying to me you are not happy are you? Find something you like, etc but the more I looked at the menu the more I thought about grease, fat, carbs, calories, yuck don't want this, ended up to please him just ordering one dish (as opposed t o the whole menu before:rotfl:) and really resenting every mouthful as it had thrown my cals for the day, the grease, anyway OH gets it now, will not be ordering, joining him in a revolting chinese meal again:rotfl:

  • victory if you need anything from B&Q, i got a voucher thats good till sunday - if you spend £30 you get a free real christmas tree.

Gald to have helped bails. I'm actually 12 months into my job now, and can't believe how much better it feels. And it isn't quite what I thought i'd be doing but i love it anyway. Sometimes it drives me nuts with the silly stuff, but i'd still rather be here than anywhere else(except as a taster for hotel chocolat OBVIOUSLY). It was a phone call out of the blue when i got it too, and came after a massive disappointment which you may remember - I got a offered a job at fox's that was quite high profile and hardcore, and then hr put a recruitment freeze on and i just missed out. But i think i would have been less happy there ,especially as the site is definitely closing and there's no guarantee the company will be even in North this time next year. I'm a firm believer that when it's right it's right - not necessarily a bolt from blue, but just being comfortable and fitting in and feeling like it's what you've always done. I guess that goes for relationships too!

Honey Well done that's a great loss.

I'm basing a secret santa present for my colleague on the Great Escape which means it'd be a good idea to watch the film to get some ideas but I really don't want to, and as I'm planning on finishing off all my shopping tomorrow I havne't got the option to wait till the weekend. Who'd thought I'd be avaoiding watching tv!
