They take off him his company car obviously, his mobile, his laptop (all company and he has not got one) they are deciding if they will let him keep his sim card, been there 25 years, gets a package if he goes quietly and does not make a fuss, he is gutted:rolleyes: no transport no job no communication happy xmas  he is seeing a solicitor this morning to clarify his package, they reckon they will give him enough to be jobless and pay the mortgage until maybe next may so that is good, poor guy has never had an interview or a CV either:rolleyes: 25 years of loyalty and not even a warning, nothing just a call into the office and good morning wre are making you redundant.

Victory - I'm really sorry about your brother. That's horrible and with no warning just makes it worse. Hugs to you and your family x
  • Victory - that is so dreadful, the poor guy must be shattered. No warning and 25yr at the company:mad:. Really glad he is seeing a solicitor to check over package.

Just had someone smash in to the back of my car while I was stationary at traffic lights. I'm ok (which is ultimately all that matters, they are too)but there is never a convenient time for these things to happen and it is one more thing to sort. I'm bone tired though and I think I will go to bed for a kip.

I am sure I should ut something on topic, lol, but brain absent.

Glad you are o.k bb:D we had the same happen to us and the guy argued with us that he did not know we were waiting at the traffic lights and was driving as if we weren't there waiting:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

No warning is terrible, at least if you know it's possibly on the cards you can prepare, financially & mentally. He must be in shock. Big hugs to him.

BB, not a great xmas build up for you either. :(

I'm feeling a bit apathetic today, just TOTM. Work started off okay until I had crazy cramps (unusual for me) then it was a rush to my sax lesson, which took my mind off it. I'm sat snuggled under a blanket on the sofa with doggy watching tv now :)

Sorry to hear about your brother victory, awful news at this time of year especially.

Bails: Their loss eh! :p Its so hard to keep your chin up with this whole job thing. Plus its gunna play right into my employers hands because when i do leave it wont be christmas and it wont matter if i go then!

BB: Sorry to hear about your crash, at least no one got hurt. Its just the pain up the rear sorting it all out now isnt it!

Im off to buy ice skating tickets. I might look up a job but i dont feel that they deserve me to look to be honest! :p

oh and Granny, you always say the right things!
  • Thanks peeps. Could have been much much worse, it is,as vix says, its the faff of sorting it out that is the worst and the likely hood we'll have to buy another 2nd hand car with a poor ins payout, given my lovely little car was 8 yrs old and the ins company will problem decide a fairly low pay out. But try and get as good as one with the money eh.
Still it is titchy problem compard to many.
But might justify a take away...:D which at least brings me bak on topic. Kind of.

BB I feel for you. Same happened to us in Jan 07. The git gave us wrong details, including wrong address. Worse part was, we were due to leave in a couple of hours to drive to Belgium. So everything needed rebooked. X received a whiplash injury. Needless to say, because the !!!!!! gave us false details, we're still trying to reclaim expenses almost 3 yrs down the line  Done ok on the pay out tho, paid £2500 for the car and got £4000 back for it. Joys of the car being a classic and not so many of them available for sale at the time of insurance pay out.

Just heard from lawyer today that he's taking it all the way and is raising court action against the driver and his non existent insurance company (his insurance was invalid for some reason) So hopefully won't need to wait to much longer. Am around £500 out of pocket due to rebooking flights, trains etc etc etc. In case you're wondering, we were driving over there, me and my son were flying back and the x was staying on a few days for work. I'm not diddling the system, honest
