  • I think I've avoided whiplash as I had a second or two's warning: I saw him in my mirror temp blinded by the sun and looking away from the road and then looking back and his face of horror when he realised there was a queue of traffic in front of him and he couldn't stop: I knew he was going to hit me so I kinda held my head/neck against the head rest. Not sure how I manage to think so quick!
I already have quite stiff aching neck from the arthritis every day and woke up this morning with a very inflamed achiles tendon, again arthritis related and had a massive limp so I look like I'd been in an accident already:rotfl:.
I've been fortunate mazza - we got correct details and he is insured.

    I appreciate everyone's kindness.

BB have u tried one of those pens for your arthritis? Got my mum the free one that was on forums somewhere, she's found a difference with it. The only thing is, she has severe arthritis in her hands too so doesn't have the power in her thumbs to press the button as often as she should.

I got her the free one to try it, she was quite impressed with it tho. Thought if it was any good I would get her the full sized one for xmas, but as she can't push the button, it's a no go.

  • morning all! waiting for the builders and my dad today. Trying really hard not to look at hte carnage that is my house - there's stuff everywhere and I have to just keep moving it around. Still, excuse not to clean! It's me and OHs five year anniversary today - and typically we're spending it apart. We did have a nice bottle of cava on the sofa last night though!
  • Thanks a lot mazza - never heard of them so will definitely look into that. I still feel a newbie to the whole arthritis thing and am still in slight denial at times and get new places that hurt randomly for a while and then it moves on elswhere.
Congrats kpc... for the perfect excuse not to housework:T... oh and for your 5yr ann too of course:D

Hello, please accept my congratulations and commiserations where due, how shocking about the redundancy after 25 years! Sounds a bit like what T*rmac did a few years ago, but they weren't as nice as to call into offices, no, they just pinned a notice on the boards, if memory serves me rightly!

Keeping up with this weight losing thing, it seems to be working despite me not having changed what I eat. I've only slipped a couple of times on the 'no eating after 9pm' thing (now 8pm) but am happy to try to achieve an average loss of 1lb per week until I get back down to my 'normal' weight. It means I should be able to make it to a full stone by Christmas. :j At this rate of weight loss, I'll need to maintain my portion control until umm... end of August 2010 :rotfl:

That pen would not work for me as the arthritis i nthe hands when it gets bad there is no way I could press it, surprised actually they have made it that way:rolleyes: when the hands do go can't even do a button up:rolleyes:

  • Victory - sorry to hear about your brother, but I'm concerened that there was no warning? OH & I run a very small business (just 2 employees) but when we decided to make a redundancy this year we had to go through a whole consultation process with both employees, giving them notice that one role was "at risk", the reasons why, what we had done to avoid etc etc plus inviting them to contribute their own ideas to avoid it. Every business regardless of size or number of employees has to follow some kind of procedure but it sounds to me like your brother's employer hasn't? He may have a case for unfair dismissal. Glad that he has a solicitor to check it all out.

Yeah Victory, it's a shame cos it's really helped my mam. Even used it a few times on my own knee. Was quite a sensation.

Let myself down on the way home from work today, ended up working late and going for a full breakfast on the way home  but it was yummy. And very MS, only £2.75 for a full breakfast including coffee :j

Hugs to you BB (but very gently, in case you are hurting a bit).

Really sorry to hear about your brother Victory. Sounds as if it was handled poorly by his employers - and what a time to tell him.

Shucks, Vix ,you do say the sweetest things.:o

Eating for England today ... don't know why.
