Totally forgot to post last week. Had an STS week.
This week 1.8lb loss which I'm very pleased with.
This takes me to the weight I wanted to be for tomorrow. I've got my first superleague game tomorrow night which is going to be on Sky Sports so I'm happy to be at the weight I wanted. It's still more than I really wanted but it's good enough!
Well done to all other losers and STSers! :j0 -
What sary says is right xmas cannot be an excuse to go crazy, I was in the supermarket last night and the man was literally piling stuff into his trolley with his wife strongly objecting but he kept saying but I like those, what about so and so they like these, we have to have things in the house to eat (it was all nuts, biscuits, crisps, cakes etc) true there has to be stuff available for people, I am lucky in the sense that I hate mince pies so we bought loadsof them if anyone wants them with clotted cream, can't eat that, hate nuts especially the ones I bought which are peanuts, honey roasted ones, pretzles, xmas pud, iced cake and pie, stollen all that cinammon stuff can't stand so bought all of that so the family can indulge, I bought for myself crackers the nicer ones, ritz biscuits, twiglets, I am so looking forward to the xmas day starter with the M&S fish platters (free with the home insurance voucher for M&S very MSE but so lovely)
All the add ons are unnecesary ,sure they are divine and taste out of this world but when you think 5 biscuits can add up to 500 cals or a slice of iced cake can be over 300 cals or the fry up on xmas day can be close to 800 cals or the xmas buffet with all the sausage rolls, pork pies, scotch eggs can take it to over 1000 cals is it worth it when you can have a proper healthy dinner, lunch breakfast for a lot less cals and it is by far better for you:D sure the chocs are irrisistable and all those fab deserts but even on xmas day I am making my WW cheesecake and the kids love it:D
What I have done with the kids, mostly for financial reasons but also for their good and mine is for them to pick and choose 3 things each that they love to eat and I will get it for them, if they have any sense they will pick 3 different ones so they have 6 things they can indulge in , much rather have that than as xmas have been in the past them have masses and masses, sugar rushes, bad moods, scoffing for the sake of it, spending a fortune on xmas goodies just because it is xmas, basically they are eating my money and I don't get paid enough to keep them in the manner they are accustomed to:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
victory - you are right on the money! I can remember my mum buying in loads of nuts, dates, figs, turkish delight etc and she ended up eating the lot rather than let it go to waste cos no-one else wanted it. Does anyone still like cheese footballs?? Yuk!!! When I set up home I did the same thing on our first Xmas cos I thought it was the right thing to do but OH pointed out what a waste of money it was as neither of us liked that stuff!
I've made a radical decision this year to not have a starter on Xmas Day  We usually have smoked salmon or a prawn cocktail but it's a distraction, people get too full up to eat the turkey and anyway I never have enough space in the kitchen to plate it all up and keep it chilled, so it will be straight to the turkey this year! I'll get one of those big bags of frozen shell-on prawns from Tescos to keep for quick suppers & treats - we all love shellfish in our house!!£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

Posting a sts today please fred which I am sure is a cheat but due to a crack o dawn start this morning didn't get to weigh in.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hi everyone. I finally braved the scales for the first time in nearly two months to find the 9lb gain that my jeans have been screaming at me (have put on a pair of same size but actually bigger ones which is not good). To be fair it has put me back to me pre break up weight and as I lost it through stress in terms of diet rules it is only fair that I put it back on, and it has been comfort eating that has done it. On that note i was about to be a pig and have 2 kievs with wedges for dinner, justified by the fact that I havent eaten yet today (been rushing around) but I shall be slightly better (I know its still an unhealthy meal...) and have the sensible 1 kiev as 2 is unnecessary.
So, May I please be zeroed on the chart please.
I hand in 1 assignment tomorrow (and have to start another straight away!) but am treating it as a new start. I need to try and sort myself out, not just in diet but in terms of where my head is at. So, about to put my dinner on, do an hour of work to finish up for hand in (only editing left) then I am going to start wrapping some christmas presents! Have to start the new essay tomorrow so makes sense to get some of them done, plus i quite like doing presents while watching tv!
Well done on the losses everyone xxx0 -
Almost forgot to weigh myself today. I think my scales are playing up, the first time I stand on them the numbers just keep going up and up! It got to 236lbs at one point  so I need to have a fiddle with them.
(Eventually) I came in at 166.5 lbs, so a loss of 1.5 lbs pleaseDebt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

A gain of 0.75lb please Fred (which counts as an almost sts by my rules so I'm not unhappy). But I apologise for letting the side down - everyone seems to have been recording either STS or lovely losses.
I've worked out why I'm eating for England and it all comes down to lack of planning. I seem to either miss lunch completely or be somewhere where eating is just too complicated and I end up just having a banana. Unsurprisingly this then results in 5 o'clock starvation .... too early for dinner so I snack. The snacks are relatively healthy but I think they add up to a lot of calories. Suggestions on a postcard please for healthy low calorie very transportable lunches that I can eat in very formal meetings without anyone noticing.
BTW I've noticed that we've got England and Scotland covered but nobody's eating for Wales. Welshcake anyone?0 -
cathy - i too an on SW, i know how tricky it can be to get you days right when eating out. i suggest why dont you be on a green day and have the prawns as a healthy b, then you can have boiled rice in any amount you want to fill up, along with the salad.
for the prwn puree, you could make your own using some free stock cupboard ingredients. or, what i would do, is save some syns a few days before and after and just go ahead and have want you want with your meal. if youv'e lost 1st 4lbs since november, thats an amazing weightloss! dont get too hang up on syns. the whole point about slimming world is that you can be flexible.
xxshift the bulge! - 54lb lost so far :j .....alot more to go......:eek:0 -
Thanks for all the results being posted.
Am starting the chart now but will keep checking in for the next couple of hours for any later results.
