Vix I've watched people going round shops choosing what to have on their wedding list and they are normally rowing over the choices. That's why I notice them - I guess I don't see the happy ones. So maybe a few cups of coffee/glasses of champagne would help? Or the offer of relationship counselling?
Eric - love the charts. I'm better at making the records than I am at losing the weight at the moment.
I'm getting the reuslts of my biopsy next Thursday. meantime I've been told to use a stick when I walk 'to protect my self from falling'. I think I'd probably trip over a stick if I carried one (I'm very clumsy) so I'm just making sure not to fall!
Seeme to be some great results this week -- you clever losers!
Off to hide my crochet loo roll covers ......... don't tell BB0 -
Granny~Hope you are ok.
Have to say I think they are all obsessed with sticks.
I find it very scary how quickly I have become really dependent on mine

Vix - Heals here: http://www.weddingandgiftlist.co.uk/CivilPartnershipGiftLists.htm already do a CP targetted gift list, so there's definitely the option of separating the options on your store's. They offer christening, wedding and birthday as standard options elsewhere. I like how they've worded their info, saying that a Civil Partnership is relatively new in the UK, and that creating a gift list with them helps family and friends who will be 'eager to do the right thing'. Clever wording.
How about suggesting some Civil Partnership targetted products. It's a growing market, with a lot of spending power available. Just google civil partnership gifts, and you'll be surprised how many suppliers there already are. Debenhams are missing a trick here, and I think it's a fabulous idea to put forward.
Back on topic.... I ate my curry, felt too full, and now feel guilty. I did make my own raita though, and it tasted just like you get in the restaurant, whooda thought that some basics natural yogurt, a teaspoon of mint sauce and some chopped cucumber was all it took? One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

vix - coming at this from a different angle - are there any perks you could offer the wedding guests? When my relative got married we received the deb's wedding list card with the invite and it included a 10% at Deb's cafe. We never used that, as we didn't fancy coffee there at all. But 10% off any debenham purchase for ourselves (i.e. not the pressie we bought) would have guranteed we would have bought something for ourselves I think and we never ever shop there otherwise, so 'you' would have secured a sale that otherise would not have happened.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0

Welcome to call the newbies!!! :hello: You don't have to be mad to join ths thread but it will certainly help!! (sense of humour a must!!)
Well DS's party went with a bang last night but oh boy was it hard to contain all those naughty boys! felt like nailing them to their chairs!!! Had to threaten to cancel their trip to the ice cream factory to get them to behave. Kids - who's 'ave 'em (cant find the roll-eyes smilie!!)Shared a pizza with OH so feeling v. bloated and dehydrated today, swigging lots of water & decaf tea to make up for it. OH commented that I didn't eat very much, which might be a combination of overdosing on Haribo during the film and the stress of trying to control a bunch of 8 & 9 year olds!! We're off out for lunch in a short while, early Mothers Day treat for me and my own mum!!
The interview yesterday went very well and I think think I've got the jobI need to go back to see the Commercial Director early next week which I'm assured is a rubber-stamping exercise since the hiring manager is a contractor and the job is also a temp contract (and this is one of Britain's biggest companies, if not the biggest so they need to follow protocol); after that I just need to agree my day rate and I could be starting 2nd half of next week.
However, regular readers will know that I've been here before so I'm not counting my chickens just yet.....
To the poster who asked what I do (cant remember who) sounds like we're in the same business 'cos I'm a marketing manager, specialising in CRM and customer management in telco's. I've been contracting for a couple of years now but my last one finished in August so I've been helping OH with his business in the interim - no chance to be idle around here believe me!!:D£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

So questions re gift lists:
What would make you chose to have a gift list with one deparment store over another?
It has to be free, you have to be able to purchase on and offline, a discount for guests would be nice, one of the stores offers us a sort of cashback scheme where we get a gift card at the end - I like that. The thing that would really swing it for us would be if any department store joined a group with other stores such as a diy store and a holiday company so we could pick gifts from more than one store. The only places we have found gift lists from more than one store charge a fortune and are online only companies, if a department store started that we'd choose them like a shot.
Would the perks influence your decision?
Yes, there are so many department stores all offering the free gift lists, thats basically all we have to go on!
would you rather have the holiday option?
The more options offered the better!
Do civil ceremony people have guest lists? or do you think that given the fact thats its kind of a new thing that they are all getting on a but and have housy stuff anyway.
I've been invited to two civil ceremonies (and only two 'regular' weddings) and neither of the civil ceremonies had gift lists as both were small do's, one a registry thing and pub meal afterwards and the other a weekend in vegas, both felt that since they weren't having a proper (their words not mine) wedding it would be rude to ask for gifts - by this I do think they meant a small very casual wedding rather than because it was girl-girl.
i cant think of anything else on the top of my head!
Hope that is of some help xDebt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

hello all,

welcome along newbies!!
food over the last few days has been fine, all ok, gone over my allowence by a couple of syns each day, which isnt great i know but i can claim them back. been my totm, whihc i know is a louzy excuse, but since loosing a bit of weight, i seem to suffer quite badly from them now, cravings are literally astonishing!
food for today:
green:
Brunch - beans, quorn sausage, egg, toast (HEB)
lunchish- mango
dinner - worlds biggest jacket potato and quorn chili, cheese (HEA)
snacks/extras: pacj of rolos (11 syns) and about a thousand syns on rocky road chocolate things (pre-birthday thing.....)
oh dear......
im going to have to be really really serious on tuesday and firmly not eat anything too naughty, im telling the house mates that i dont want any food surprises (cakes, mountians of crisps etc..) ive had my fill today ( too much of a fill and am now nauseaous) im dead on 14st and really want to break that boundry.
if i stuck to it, there is no reason why by wed (when totm os over) i could drop that extra pound, but im worried the birthday celebrations will get in the way.
hope everyone else is doing better than me!
have a good weekend all
xxxxxshift the bulge! - 54lb lost so far :j .....alot more to go......:eek:0 -
Decided to take the plunge yesterday.............as no longer losing weight by diet alone (have been STS for last 3 weeks)
Signed up for pilates classes. Expectations not too high as it seemed like 45 minutes of laying or standing around doing very gentle movements and breathing exercises!!!!
OMG how wrong was I - can hardly move this morning:rotfl: Legs, arms and tummy muscles feel like I have just run a marathon. I know I am fairly unfit but I am not sure that the 3 classes a week I am supposed to be attending aren't going to leave me unable to move!! Still I guess the upside to this is I won't be able to make it to the kitchen to get any food!!!!
Hopefully will all be worth it if I can drop another stone.Debt Free Wannabe!!!

Good for you Fi! The first time at any new activity (or after a return from a break) is always the worst one for stiffness etc, but this is a GOOD thing, it means you worked hard and your muscles will be repairing stronger than before! Hope you enjoy the classes!0
