True and I can see why you'd be disappointed. However 2.6lb is still a great loss and don't forget that sometimes your body just needs a break. Perhaps you'll get a good loss next week to make up for it. Keep going, you're doing awesome so far. :D

not disappointed, it was expected, kicking around at home all week where its easy to graze (with SWMBO) and then going out for 3 meals including a curry was always going to take its tool.

gave us a chance to clear the gym out (box bedroom :p) we had piled it up with boxes and sacks over the last 12 months, its totally clear now, all the stuffs sorted, 20 sacks and an unused wardrobe down the dump and I relubed the treadmill, cleaned under the cover and adjusted the belts tension.

    All good to go :T

and lmao of at your avatar :)

Can we join you PepPop? lol

We're both reporting a gain this week - 0.75lbs for me and 1.25lbs for Superman. We were a bit disgruntled as we were kidding ourselves we'd had a really good week, foodwise, but on closer analysis we remembered we'd had fish and chips, a chinese, and a special meal.... so maybe not that surprising.

Day One was yesterday, and we've been swimming, I've been to a belly dancing class :rotfl: and we walked to the internet cafe today.

Well done to everyone that's weighed in this week.

    Catch you later

    Lois & Superman :)

You seriously lost 2.6lb without really doing anything? crikey!
Although I suppose clearing out a room counts as exercise.
Sounds like a nifty home gym you've got now! I admit I'm a little jealous :rotfl:

Victory - do you think your OH would have room in his top box for a (not so) little one. That sounds fantastic. I keep watching all the Charley Boreman and Ewan McGregor programmes (OH bought me the DVDs) and wishing.... (Would he not be cheaper using the tunnel if he's wanting to do Dunkirk etc?)

spongebobfancypants - Hello and great name!!

    Woodstoke - Welcome

    Banansplit - great achievement :T

Eric maybe you'll notice a difference next week once the exercise part of your plan starts. Keep your chin up you'll get there.

Lois and Superman please do - although no super powers allowed. Hide and seek? :D

it was just 3 bad meals, and some snacks (low fat, low sugar), but most of the time i was on it

we just chucked the bed and all the furniture (it was 20+ years old) out of the box room and put the treadmill, mat and a TV/DVD in there, it had become a "crap" storage overflow room, again :D

    Afternoon all,

Not surprising to see a few STSs this week and gains, considering Valentines was here to latch on to our love handles, huh?

Eric, I know you're disappointed with your 2.6lb loss, but at least it was a loss. I recently read a book called Slimmer Charlie by Charlie Walduck, who was featured on TV a couple of years ago where he went from weighing 45 stone to 12.5 stone and running a marathon in a couple of years. He'd always been a big guy, and felt too self conscious to join a gym, hadn't exercised since a child, had never had a relationship, and was approaching 40 knowing he was looking at being in his grave very soon, unless he changed. His determination, and utter disappointment at not losing at least 6lb a week was admirable. It does chart his journey, what led to him getting so big in the first place, but most of all the best bit for me was hearing his 'inner voice', which sounded so much like my own (and I'm sure most people who suffer with being big) whilst he was trying to lose weight. He followed a healthy eating plan that any GP will have, which focussed on low fat and a daily calorie allowance. It has changed his life, and he's gone from being a bingo caller, to now having his own radio show, and starting his own weightloss club near where he lives. I'd recommend it as a book to keep beside the bed, to give yourself a bit of a boost when feeling low, or demoralised.

I am pleased to report a -3lb loss this week. It proves to myself that moving about a bit more, and cutting the portion sizes down again using my smaller plate do work. I've also cut back on the amount of bread I eat, which I am convinced piles on weight faster than any other food I eat. I did have a small indulgence at the w/end, but as I was being active, I felt it was OK, and I kept my portion sensible, whereas BF had 3/4 of a crumble to himself, but then he never gains an ounce, and his 6 pack is already showing well after he began his new workout last month. Makes ya sick, doesn't it?

Victory - all that planning is going to keep OH occupied for the next few months. Sounds like a great trip he's got planned.

    Welcome Spongebob and Woodstoke.

Rosie, I find reading your food diary on here quite interesting. I used to do the same daily about a year ago, and sometimes do it to help keep me on track. It's another tool to make me accountable. It is interesting to see where others make their calorie choices, or good meals to have.

Bananasplit - congratulations! That's a huge achievement, well done. I hope to be posting a similar statement later this year.

Dinah - well done on the loss, and I hope the MRI helps to move things forward with your knee.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home
  • managed to dust of the wii fit and managed 19 minutes! not bad for first go, and actually quite enjoyed it! sent the children to play in their rooms for half an hour, mind you they kept creeping down to see what i was doing!!

    small steps i think!

A STS for me this week. Not too disapointed as others have said - valentines day and pancake Tuesday were gonna take their toll!!(and I'm guessing the take away pizza didn't help and added more than a fews calories)!!!!!:rotfl:

Hopefully back on track with no more excuses for next week.

Big congrats to all the losers - especially in this week of temptations :T
