Victory - yeah, but at least the boss is still away;).
On and on the conversation went as to how much studying is going to happen to me, how dedicated I need to be and then the bombshell, supervisor says to me 'if I were you, I would start look for another job'
Why should I? Boss huge agrro because of my error, will not let it lie but why should I let another human being force me out of work? Two assistant pharmacists work along side him, asked them both they say they refuse to do their respective NVQ's because he is not supportive, will not meet the deadline, he is all about him, he likes calm and peace, has a halo everyone else makes mistakes and is to blame and he likes squaring it with head office that he is impeccable at his job and lets everyone around him flounder, he has been there 5 years and so far has got away with it by crusing on everyone elses back and knowing his word is final as he is the boss, they would have to pay £500 if they stopped/failed their NVQ from their own pockets and so refuse to do it knowing he will block/not be a good teacher to them and so that leaves me, what do I do?
I have to talk at length with him on thursday but he will not co operate and get me all the info I need, he has a long winded way of saying things, so tempting to walk away from him and come back when he has thought of what to say:rotfl: but no, respect does not allow that, I have for him as he is the boss he has for no one as he is the boss, so everyone says it is going to be hell...
I will get all the facts first and then give it a go, if I have to pay £500 from my own pocket as they do if it fails to materialise that will be laughable as to me that is 6 months wages:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Victory That sounds awful! I have an idea about what company you work for as I used to work for them but they recently sacked me as ive been off work on sick pay due to depression. My own fault I guess I should cope better and have struggled on with work.
I really hope things work out for you, you're right you shouldn't have to quit because of him and its not right that you could end up paying out £500 because of him!
i really hope this all works out for the better for you and that somewhere along the line your boss gets his comeuppance0 -
Emzy depression is not a 'fault' thing and you can't change how you cope with situations. You're just unlucky to have an unsupportive employer.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0 -

Emzi -couldn't read and run on that one: depression is not 'being a bit lazy or inadequate'.
Depression is an illness just as much as a broken leg or measles.
I know you know this really, but that is the crul thing about depression - it tricks you into thinking you are useless and if you had just tried harder...
Victory - a really tough one. You are right to find out everything you can. I signed a contract 20 yrs ago where I promised to repay course fees if I dropped out/failed whatever. It was a complete disaster for me as the subject was way too hard for me and I didn't realise it but I wasn't that well to start with and and I was a damn sight worse at the end. Had to drop out. Fortunately, was so ill by then got out of repaying £2000(), but then I had a decent line manager for a big employer.
Not meaning to frighten you, only you will be able to decide what you can and can't take on. It could be a great opportunity but boss sounds ghastly.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

So are they dismissing you or what? is it compulsory that you do these courses? as it part of your t&c's when you joined? I just don't get it, here you are recruited as one thing and they are trying to turn you into something else and putting you under pressure to do so  Are you in a union? maybe they can advise you, or if not you can get advice from ACAS or maybe the CAB. Sounds to me like not only have you been misled by them but your boss is a right g*t too, that's too much pressure for someone contracted to work 8 hours a week surely???
Sorry is I sound a bit agressive but as an employer I know that all the power is with employees these days and they can't muck you around like this.

Good evening everyone,
I am back home after a frantic 2 days, Went up to winchester after work yesturday and feel much better now I have seen my Mum for myself. She has def had a heart attack and is waiting for more tests to find out the cause. So it is just playing a waiting game now so they can decide on her treatment but she is in the best place
I just want to thank everyone for your kind words and thoughts, It has helped me so much through my difficult time and it is nice to know that people care.
Dietwise I have been angilic as I have a real health reason to loose weight now as I am a spitting image of my mother. So I took food with me, including dinner last night and breakfast this morning. I even took clementines and carrot sticks for snacks. I went out for lunch with my sister and the only healthy option was a chicken curry (in a non creamy sauce) and rice. I didn't eat the popadom that came with it and I didn't even touch the biscuit that came with my coffee. I will just have to see what the scales say this week..........
Victory - sorry about your work situation I hope you find a acceptable result to the situation.
Sarymclary - I hope your back gets better soonRestarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed
Need to loose 25lb / 3lb lost so far0 -
alli want, my mum had a fairly serious heart attack 16 years ago. IT was hard for everyone for a while, but the medication she's on controls her condition and she lives an entirely normal life now. Unfortunately she hasn't heeded the warning and continues to smoke, but she is in good health, and is even working.
how'd the cross trainer work out vix? ~I've wanted one for ages but never had the room before - now might be different. I'm loving the new kitchen - did some more work this weekend on it, getting all the bits and pieces of finishing touches done. - even did the beading on the laminate floor in front of hte door!0
